The can to water where you are getting is genius!
Thank you so much! I saw it from a tile pro online and immediately stole it. You should definitely steal it too! Thanks for the comment and for watching!
I was just thinking that. Low tech, cheap and effective. Absolute genius.
Works better with a plastic bottle, hole near lid, so you can turn it the right way up to stop water, or upside down to irrigate
@@OneWayToMake oh, I’m stealing it
Dude your can trick is awesome
Thanks you so much. I really love it too, so easy and cheep. I saw it and immediately knew I was going to steal it and use it forever, I hope you do the same. Thanks for watching!
That tile cutting tool is pretty sweet, pretty impressive little thing if it doesn't chip the corners when it breaks
It really is pretty sweet. It’s slides really smooth and has a magnet so it catches the breaking shoe when you slid it so it’s not in your way then releases it when you lift the handle high enough. It makes it super easy and fast to use but best of all like you said no chipped edges. It even worked on a granite transition that was twice the thickness of a tile. I’m super happy with it so far. Thanks so much for watching and for reaching out!
lol nothing like doing it twice
Perfect 👍👍👍
That can is just superb (i use an expensive Bosch blue with a jerrycan and waterpump 😂)
Thanks so much! And hey that works too I bet that thing is awesome. The can trick is pretty sweet though and easy to use anywhere. The first time I saw it I was I knew my life just got way easier. I love finding stuff like that. Thanks again for reaching out and for watching!
Why the double handling space it lay it get paid
whats the use of the orange layer ?
Why do you put the lippidge removers on for dry fitting?
That’s a great question. I put them in so could space my tile out accurately. If I don’t use spacer on my layout and I let my tile touch, my last piece on each row will be too large. Hope that helps explain it, thanks for the question and for watching!
do you put the hardiebacker first before the orange layer?
Great question I actually didn’t use hardie backer on this floor. You can and if you do it would go down under the DITRA(the orange stuff) but it’s not necessary if you’re using DITRA. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
This membrane eliminates the need for hardie board if the subfloor is solid.
Wait why does that trick help?
Always back butter your pieces
You are absolutely right on a tile of this size you should be back buttering. That process will be shown in the new video out this Friday, check it out if you have time I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
It was a dry fit you goofball lol… he’s mocking it up before actually installing
Why would you back butter anything unless you use the wrong trowel,...... 💬🤔❓
@@derektierney1314someone obviously knows zilch about tiling
@@derektierney1314I believe it’s traditionally recommended to back butter large format tile, some may very on what is considered large format but I’m saying anything over a 12”x12” tile. As these tiles are 12x24 I am back buttering but just out of curiosity, even if the tile didn’t need to be back buttered, would there be any downside to doing it in this situation? Thanks for the comment and for watching!
Twice is not always nice
Agreed, usually better to try to do it in one but for me sometimes it takes thee or four. Thanks for watching!
Spends all that time on the layout and ends up with a 1 inch cut piece along the wall?😂😂 yeah ok
You set the tile with no thin set?
No, this is just a dry fit but we have another video showing the installation with thin set. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Jayus what a diy'er 💬
I sure am. How’d I do? Thanks for watching!
@@OneWayToMake dude if your only learning don't post unless you know the right way, do you know what I mean......💬🤔❓
If he's just do a dry run to get all his cuts right he didn't do a damn thing wrong. Would you dry fit an entire bathroom floor for a customer? Of course not but it's not for a customer so who cares. It's his time not yours. I'm so sick of UA-cam comments telling ppl they're doing things wrong when they've almost certainly never done a darn thing themselves. Let alone to make a living.
@@derektierney1314 I think I understand what you mean but I’m not sure I agree. I know for me personally it can be hard to learn from someone who is great when I’m just starting out, they have so much knowledge that it might be too much for me to take in. Or even if I understand the information, watching them do it can feel intimidating when they are an expert. I find when I watch someone of average skill I have more confidence to try something. That being said it is important that the information provided is correct, I hope I’ve done that and given someone the confidence to try to learn a new skill. If that’s not you that’s totally okay. There are many pros on here that make great and entertaining videos. Thanks again for checking out the video even though it wasn’t for you and for your feedback. I really do appreciate it. Have a good one!
@@OneWayToMake hey look I was a bit harsh, but being a tiler myself it's a bitter pill for a customer to swallow when your telling them that there floor is ruined because it's not laid right, the amount off adhesive & the right size trowel is very important along with the measurements off the floor before laying any tiles with the right measurements, I've seeing customers crying all because off stuff like this, because off a UA-cam diy'er's put down a floor wrong, with the whole floor wrecked, now look at the expense that this has cost & the hardship to that family. I take my hat off to anyone who gives it a try, but pls don't post something if you've not got a clue & your teachings are not sound, because a bad tradesman will always be bad & even if he's learning another guy/girl they will pick up his faults & not learn the correct way.
UA-cam is great for picking up tips & tricks, yes but it's also bad, that's why tilers go & learn the proper way in college or from a master tiler, but seriously not a diy'er. 🤔
?
What are you wondering? I’ll try my best to explain it if I can.
No thin set?
Not in this video, we prepped everything here and will be installing with thin set in the next video. I hope you check it out! Thanks so much for watching!
@@OneWayToMake lol! For a second I thought: “wow, that’s some magical type of underlayment that holds the tile in place with just the grout”
@@desdel84that would be pretty sweet, maybe someday. Thanks again and have a great one!
Why the fake voice
Rookies man
I definitely am a rookie, this was my first bathroom remodel but I'm super happy with how it came out. I'm open to any tips you have if you want to share, always excited to learn and try to get better. Thanks for watching!
@@OneWayToMake, If this was your first floor, you absolutely did the right thing dry fitting the entire floor!
So you skip the adhesive part of it then? Speeds the job up!!🤔🤣🤣🤣
I skipped it in this video. I don’t work well when I try to go too fast, so I decided to cut and fit every tile before applying any thin set. That’s what this video is about, the next video in the series shows how we laid all the tile using Schluter thin set. I hope you check it out I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for watching!
