SOOO GLAD I FOUND YOU!!!! In a total of 30 minutes maybe--you just moved me light years forward in my word understanding. Hopefully it will make finishing a document I'm working on easier to finish. Your teaching style works for me so well. Straight to it and moving fast. No Fluff. That's why we have pause and rewind. Thank you.
Hi Lon, Good to know my videos are working for you, thanks for watching and for the nice comment. My videos typically just dive straight into the task, I'm glad you like that. Have a great day!
Thank you for this informative video. I opened up a Word document and copied your dot leader text and followed along with your demo and it worked great. You're the Best!! :)
You have been a great help. I have a question. When I change the margins and/or font, the formatting of the document changes to where I have a large white spaces inserted into various sections of the paragraphs. Instead of having to go through each line and correct the formatting, is there a short cut? Thanks again.
Hi Dan, I am glad this helped you. It's probably creating extra lines due to extra paragraphs being entered by mistake, or too much spacing after your paragraphs. Here are two videos that I think will get this fixed up for you: Spacing in Word: ua-cam.com/video/6O9u4Z-i5ZI/v-deo.html Formatting Marks: ua-cam.com/video/ErqJ6I9jTaM/v-deo.html
Thanks so much for this tutorial on formating. FYI: I have been a WordPefect user since the days it was on floppy disk. But, I am wanting to migrate to Word 2016 and have had difficulty in doing so. Many of the features in WP always seemed so simple and Word seemed so difficult. Also, I am a retired Pastor, but still very active in preaching ministry. Most of my sermons were done in WP and since I now use an iPad I have tried to convert them to Word because Apple doesn't really like WP. Also, my sermons follow an Outline, i.e., I.; 1.; a.; i. format. Word has a really hard time converting. My document layout is Landscape, 2 pages per sheet. So, when I open the doc in Word and try to work with it the document runs off the right hand side of the screen. Sorry for this being so long, but I need help Outlining and re-formating WP documents. Thanks again for your tutorials, you do a great job explaining.
Hi James, Thank you for watching. If Word has a hard time converting your sermons, you can do it manually. I made a video on how to create a custom template. It might not be a bad idea to create a template for your sermons, then use that template to copy and paste the text from your past sermons, into your Word template. Regarding lists in Microsoft Word, you can create numbered lists in the paragraph group. If you click 'Increase Indent' it'll create an automatic numbering/lettering system that would probably work with your outline. If you prefer landscape layout, you can make that change in the 'Layout' Tab, then click 'Orientation' and change it to landscape. If you make those changes to your template, it should make it easier to copy and paste the text. Hopefully this explanation was clear enough, thanks for the comment and best of luck with your project. The custom template video is linked below. Have a nice day. ua-cam.com/video/3tbtRCIyszg/v-deo.html

HI Houda Houdhoud, So in the last step, I chose align tab stops with ... symbol at the 6 inch mark, aligned right. This means that the tab stop at the 6 inch mark will be the furthest that the ... symbols will go, followed by the text. I hope this helps.
