You have no idea how much you just helped me! I was fighting with table borders for more than a week in my typing class. The book wasn't specific so I kept on messing it up until I decided to use UA-cam. I'm so happy I found you and your visual, explanatory, straight to the point video. Thank you so much!
It's been more than 30 years since I worked with Tables (and that was with WordPerfect). I'm in need of a refresher course, and this tutorial is excellent. Thank you!
Thank you!!!! This was very informative and helpful for me to complete my tables for my grad school essay. I am not a whiz with computers so this was wonderful! I kept saying, "Oh! I see!" and "Ah-Ha!" I like your pace and patient instruction, highlighting each step. Thank you!!
Hi Ashley, No problem, I'm happy the video has helped you out. I have quite a few other tutorials on Word formatting for APA that should help with the grad school work if you take a look at my Word playlist. Thanks so much for this comment, I'm glad the pace was helpful for you. If you have any questions when you're working, write a comment and I'll try to help you. Have a nice day!
Hi A Morgan, Thank you so much for this video. I am doing my Masters of Ed (Tesol) and tables which move into three or four pages look untidy, especially in an assignment. Whereas I knew how to do this in all previous MS Words...I didn't have the time to learn 2016. I am so impressed, I am putting a link of your video to all the other participants doing this online with me to help them present a great assignment! Thanks again!.
Hi Rosalind, Thank you for the comment. I'm glad this video helped you out and thanks for sharing it. If you come across something that you need help with in Word 2016, let me know and I'll either make a video on it or respond with an answer comment (if I know the answer). Best of luck with your Grad program and completing the rest of your assignments. Have a nice day!
Hi A Morgan, I most certainly will. It will help us teachers with students...especially English Second Language adults who are refugees or older adults who basically haven;t got a clue about technology. If you can send me your email, as things happen, I will ask you if you can put up a video-file. Hopefully MS 2016 doesn't change anytime soon.:) btw I am Australia, hope you are not in hurricane alley!
Hi Rosalind, Great, I'm glad they will help people out. I also have a playlist on Windows 10 and Computer Fundamentals if that helps. My email is instructoramorgan@gmail.com and I cannot send video files, but the URL to the videos will not change, so feel free to post them if you'd like. I hope all is well in Australia, I am not in any of the states effected by the hurricanes, and hopefully they don't get any more this year.
Hi A Morgan, glad you are not in those States. I do have Windows 10 on a separate laptop which I use for my creative writing not for uni stuff; the uploads of assignments as I found in the past, the formatting is not compatible. Therefore yes I would be interested and email when that time comes. Thanks again . All the Best
Hi Linhlan Bui, Great, I am glad you enjoyed this. I will be creating a Word 2019 advanced playlist in upcoming months. If you want to see something specific, let me know. Thanks for watching!
@@ProfessorAdamMorgan I just took it! Got 963/1000 on my first try and I didn't pay for any study guides or practice tests! Thank you so much. Your videos helped me a lot. Just to add, I think they grade you based on the steps you take or the pathway you use to accomplish the task. The reason I think this is because I know I did everything right (the test was easy and I double-checked everything), but I still didn't get a perfect score.
Hey 963 is a very high score, great job! Well done getting through it without study guides or practice tests too! I am not too sure on how each individual task is graded, I'm hoping to find out more information about that soon. If I learn anything about that, I'll let you know.
Very informative. Now that I have my table, I would like to insert into the table an existing page to use as an example in a manual. Can you do a video on how to do that?
Hi Jay, I'm glad the video helped! The Home Tab basically deals with mostly your font/paragraph settings. Things like font, font size, spacing, and bullets are all handled there. The Table Tools Layout tab deals with the structure of your table. That's the place to add/delete rows and columns, change row and column height and sort your data. I hope this clears it up. Thanks for the comment.
Do you have a video on the Draw Tables tab? I need to create a complicated table, and the normal table tabs won't let me do what I need to, but I am having trouble working out the Draw table tabs. thank you.
Hi sir I wonder if you can show me how to take screen shots of works I have done on word and post them to words as well. Hope my question made sense. Thanks
Hi Jenni, Yes, I actually made a video on 3 different ways to take a screen shot. The link to that video is below. Once you have the screenshot, you can place it as an image into Word. I hope this helps: ua-cam.com/video/yolh5gqN7Ik/v-deo.html

Hey Adam, great videos. I have a baffling problem I can't figure out. Using MS Word 2016 (Office 365): I can't get Table Tools to come up, no matter what I do. I see on your screen that every time you click in the newly-created table, "Table Tools" pops up. That never happens with me. You are obviously on the 'home" tab, right? But I've tried all of them. Clicking in a cell, or selecting cells, columns, the entire table, etc, no difference. Is there a setting or something somewhere I need to format/revise/reset? Thanks.
Hi Sbwyo, Thank you for watching my video, I appreciate that. To insert the Table, I use the "Insert Tab" then click "Table" in the "Tables" group. My only guess is that perhaps you disabled your table tools tab by mistake. Give this fix a shot and let me know how it works: 1. Click "File" Tab 2. Click "Options" 3. Click "Customize Ribbon" 4. On the right side, click the drop down list under "Customize the Ribbon" 5. Choose "Tool Tabs" 6. Ensure that "Table Tools Design and Layout" check boxes are selected If those are checked, it should appear no problem. If they are check and it's still not showing, I am not too sure how to help from there.
Hi Adam, I would Like to know how do i make the table"s properties default, coz every time i insert a table in my document i have to go through all that trouble of adjusting space alignment at all other sorts. I tried the update and keep formatting tools its not working for me, please help.
Hi Peggy, If you're having problems with the spacing and alignment, you will need to manually adjust them in Table Tools Layout Tab. In the Cell Size group, you can click on the Distribute Rows and Columns button to adjust them to fit only the contents inside of the table. I recommend adding all text to the table first, then formatting at the end so that you aren't constantly updating your table. I hope this helps you out.
Hi Kim, Sure, click within the table in the row above where you'd like the new rows to insert. From there, go to the Table Tools Layout tab and go to the Rows & Columns group. Within that group, click "Insert Below" and you'll be able to add in additional rows below the row you have currently selected. I hope this helps you.
Hi Judy, Thanks for watching, I am glad it was helpful. Well, you first will have to select the entire column. Do this by clicking at the very top of the column (black down arrow icon) and you should see everything become highlighted. From there, you can change all of the design options and effects with the Table Tools Design Tab and the Home Tab. Their is not a way to change all formatting to default. You can copy the format from another column by using the Format Painter in the Home Tab. I hope this helps.
Nice video, My problem is that my table is constantly getting stuck in the page break or upper margin and I cannot move it at all. If I cut and paste it where I need it, It just goes back to the page break. I'm so flipping frustrated with this!
Hi Cheryl, Okay so this is a little bit difficult to solve without actually seeing the document, but I think if you insert a page break right above the table, it will fix it by pushing the entire table down to the next page, rather than splitting it between two separate pages. If you want, I'll make a video on this topic. Anyway, thanks for the comment and I hope this explanation helps you out.
Hi! im having issues with the format of the table....my table is not even...the one with more text has a smaller space compared to the cell with lesser words..... is there anything that can be done??

Hi Abeer, You can copy the table from the other document, then when you paste, go to the Home Tab, Clipboard Group, and Click the Paste Arrow. On the Paste Arrow options, choose Keep Source Formatting and it'll keep the table in the original format from the 1st document. I hope that helps.
