Oh my God, you saved me AND MY SANITY!!! Never have I found a video that explains exactly what I need in a way that I can repeat and get the result without having to watch 5 other videos and loose hours to a simple seconds long action I need done in my word. THANK YOU, YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER!
Thank you, Chris. You have a way of clearly articulating how to get the job done on the 3 very fundamental aspects of formatting a document using WORD. Your video of 21 Jan 2022 continues to generate interest and value. Yes, the session opened my eyes to the "Section Break" function, and I dare say it will be of phenomenal help in my work drafting corporate reports. A Big Thank YOU. Cheers
Special thanks, esteemed Mister Chris Menard, for the kindness and effort of providing so many precious teachings, and warm congratulations for the quality of the tutorials that you create and that I have been following for years. They are materials that clearly stand out from many others in the field. These materials are my favorites. Health and achievements ahead!
Double OMG OMG... you helped me understand more on how to use Word and what's it's capable of doing. I was trying to find out how I can use full page for page one and column for page 2 & 3, then back to full page. You explained it so well. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for the video! This helps me as beginner to apply in my school works. Word of appreciation from Divine Word University (Papua New Guinea)
Chris, you are amazing! I have been working on a downloaded document that had all kinds of section breaks and column breaks, now I understand! Thank you so much!
Loved the tutorial. When working with tables in MS Word, how do I add the same row to each page of my MS Word document? How do I tell Word to add a bottom line to the bottom row at the end of my table whether it's in the middle of the row or not?
Thanks for the Video. i was just struggling with trying to get a couple pages with columns about 20 pages in and it kept making every page columned. this eased my frustration.
I have a document that I justified. And in some parts when I add the section break, the document is not justified properly. How can I avoid the section break from ruining the even layout of justified text?
Precise instructions and clear demonstration . This video should have been appreciated more, for its treasure of information . Thank you Chris Menard for the guidance . I am subscribing P.S. I found this video while looking for some guidance , to find out if there is any way to format the page and add columns before writing the text
What is the difference between using the Enter key to get a page break verus using the Page Break option ? other than using the Page break option is easier , is there any disadvantage of using the Enter method like formatting issues ?
How can we print a specific section I restarted the page numbering with every new section break. Later I wanted to print only a certain section from the document, I used custom print and inserted the range of page numbers that I want, it keeps printing the wrong pages. I tried both:same numbers on the pages or the numbers on the lower left corner of the document, both did not work. Thanks for your help.
I have created a document with two columns of text. How do I get the text in the first column to continue to the bottom of the page before the text wraps up to the top of the second column? My columns are equal in length which tends to leave unwanted white space at the bottom of the page. I liked your video better that many on this topic.
It sounds like a column break is on the column on the left side. Turn on show hide and see if you see a column break and delete it. Show/hide is on the Home Tab in the Paragraph Group. If you do not see a column break, then that means you have two columns set. Let's change it to one column. Click anywhere in the two columns, click the *Layout* Tab, click *Columns* and click *One* (for one column). Let me know if this works. I added a screenshot here drive.google.com/file/d/1C6nIVHk24tYPLl-SDmz6mwpzh6oTE6Cj/view?usp=drivesdk
Fantastic explanation other than the fact that placing cursor before the section break (continuous) and hitting backspace does not remove section break (continuous).
Great video and review. Maybe you can answer why my date will not stay right justified and about 58 or 60 spaces down when I click on line spacing options and do it without hard returns . it will not stay in the on the right side of page No man, no matter how many spaces I command the line spacing option to create so that I have a lot of white space at the top between that my head or or my name and address and all is and the salutation on the left to the person I'm writing.
How about the section break on even and odd page. I never understand, who wants to put section in odd and even pages usually you want the pages to follow sequence, example page 2 has page #, page 3 is missing page # because of this weird odd and even section break. What's the real situation to use the odd and even section break? Thanks.
Most books are printed two sided. Chapters start on the ODD pages. Not the Even pages. So if you do a Section Break Odd, a chapter will start on the odd page and Word will add a blank even page if needed. It does look strange when working in Word and you don't see the even page, but when printed, it comes out correctly. I've never had to use Even section breaks, but I'm sure there is a rare occurrence when someone may need that.
Hi Chris, This video was very helpful. Thank you. The question I have is, with my one page in Landscape orientation, when I go to print, this page does not print properly. Half the table is cut off. How do I print combination pages of Portrait and Landsape? Thank you.
Thank you. That was very helpful. I do have a problem setting up section breaks. Say There I want to count a page but not have the number visible in either header or footer. For example The title "Chapter I" appears on its own page (I want to count this as Page 1 but not have the page number appear in either the header or footer section), The text for Chapter I appears on the next page (That would be page 2). Page 2 should be visible in either the header of footer section. How do I do this without misplacing my mind? Thank you Helen
What I was finding confusing is that there's always 1 section but when you click into editing a header or footer before you've added extra sections, they're only labeled as header or footer. After you add extra sections the name of the header(s) and footer(s) in section 1 then get referred to when editing them with their section number.

How to go back from colume to normal text on same page?
Two methods - just go back to one column, or delete the section break.
What is the difference between using the Enter key to get a page break verus using the Page Break option ? other than using the Page break option is easier , is there any disadvantage of using the Enter method like formatting issues ?
Hi sir. I would like to know if there is function to do page break after every end of paragraph or words?
Awesome, Thanks man :).

@@ChrisMenardTraining I don’t have column break anywhere. If I do one column then I have just a regular looking page. I’m using Word for Mac.
@@tommyharris5817 Best I got from MS Word community was "Can't do it in Word for Mac."
@@tommyharris5817 Nope. Let me know if you have a solution.
how do the same table row to the top of each page when working with tables in MS Word?
Thank you chris
Fantastic explanation other than the fact that placing cursor before the section break (continuous) and hitting backspace does not remove section break (continuous).
