Yes !! This is the video I needed so badly because my roots are so flat. I never seem to know how to get volume in that area. Thank you so much Mell!!!! I'm sure it'll be so helpful as usual!! ❤❤❤
I would love to see you do some of these techniques on someone who has extremly low density, very fine hair because all of my hair would fit in one of those small claw clips, I probably have less than a quarter of the amount of hair you do. I struggle with volume, and find it very hard to create it using those brushes as there is just so little of it, sectioning the hair is very difficult. I must say many of your tips have helped me and it is way better than it ever has been, so thank you so much for all your wonderful videos!
After being at a funeral all day I came home and realized it was actually Texture Tuesday. What a great video to brighten up my sad day. Thank you Seesters for another "uplifting" video! xoxo
Thirty two years of living with super curly hair and I JUST learned that a foam and a moose are different. 🤦♀️ You’re so knowledgeable. Thanks for sharing!!
You're adorable! I'm a 70 yo curly girl (pic is from covid when I cut it all off) and your tips are what I've needed all my curly life! Finally! Thank you so much!
Many times I think you can’t come up with an other topic which is relevant to my hair, because you taught me a lot and you talked about many many topics, but you still can! 😍 Thanks for the creative content! ❤️
Thank you. I’ve never had this amount of volume until I put in place your video. I just need to focus on getting some gel cast on top of head without putting too much product that my hair is weighed down.
I am one of those lucky souls, whom the Spirits of the Big Hair have blessed REPEATEDLY with naturally BIG BOUFFY HAIR...and a LOT of it. I am going to try some of these, just to see how big I can truly get my hair... Bringing back the 80's but without the crunch! LOL!
Oh I love the new caramel brown color, Mel! Your curls are everything 😍 Thank you. I've learned so much from your channel. My curls have never looked better.

Love it Mell! Can you guys make a video about styling and prepping hair for a pool day? My whole life I’ve always had to accept that if I want to swim, I’m gonna look AWFUL. Do you have tips for this?
Fine, low density, loose curls. What volume? Volume dust, volume sprays, dry shampoos just make my hair feel durty. And the clips on wet hair just make the hair clump more And if it dries that way you can see the scalp. But at last! I saw how to style with the denman on the top which for me is too flat And i have sooooo large "parts". I will save the video to try on the next wash day. Thank you.
girl!! you have really taken those survey answers to heart... i see you! thank you thank you thank you for always providing tips for all hair types and for all the updo / long hair content. you da best don't forget to rest 😘🖤
Dear Mel, I have curly hair and was on my own ( styling and caring for it) for 63 years until I found you! My sisters, mother and all other relatives have fine straight hair. Anyway, I’m so thankful for your blog: better late than never!!❤
it was washday today so I tried this... I have to say I was very sceptical as my hair looked horrible in a cast until I scrunched it out and it turned out AMAZING!!!! I haven't even diffused, i let it air dry as we are having a pretty hot day here in the UK. My hair looks the best it has done in a while!!! thank you
Love this!! I was needing some volumizing tips ❤️❤️ At our house we would love a vid about cutting and styling men’s and boys’ hair. My teenage boys are growing out their curly hair and using my products :-)
I love you Mel! I have learned so much about curly hair from watching your videos. I need to try your styling technique with the front of the hair. Always a challenge for me. I feel like every wash day is an experiment in styling!!
Too much amazing information in this video! All the tips and tricks work so well and there are so many options and ways to customize the methods for your own hair needs and tools you have on hand. Thank you so much for this video, I'll be referring to it for a long time.
Thank you Mel for this video! I am actually going to get a curly cut this Thursday, so I can add more layers to my wavy hair and give them more definition. Since my hair is wavy/curly it tends to grow flat at the roots. I am looking forward to using the claw clips to give them that extra volume :)

Mel, this is so helpful. As a wavy/curly with wee bit of frizz, this vid gives me some great ideas for lift at the roots. I enjoy your vids, and if nobody has told you recently, you are a really luscious beauty, starting with your glorious mane! Thanks for the tips!
@@ManesByMell another trick of mine for volume is on day 1, I leave my bangs out in front and then on day 2 or even 3 I move the bangs over with a side part and just like that, immediate volume!
I used the diagonal styling and it was amazing. I have wavy hair and my waves don’t always start at the base, but I noticed that by doing this it helped with that. Also on day 5 and still looks good. Saw Amanda doing this on Insta a couple days ago.
I’m so grateful for you! This is an understatement. I have learned SO much in such little time and you make it so worth watching. Thank you!❤️ my hair is thriving because of YOU. You are amazing.
i’d just like to add, try washing and brushing your hair upside down! it helps me shampoo my scalp more effectively especially at the top of my head, therefore removing more oil and buildup from my scalp. and when i style my hair, brushing and combing upside down helps lift up my roots a lot. combine this with mell’s tips and im pretty sure your hair will just end up defying gravity lmao
You and your hair looks amazing. Love this video and great techniques to try out. I stink at sectioning my hair when defining. I'm determined to get it right.
You and Amanda are the perfect curly hair models.... I love all of these tips thanks... I am struggling to keep my curls in place due to the thickness of my hair and I have not heat styled my hair in 5 months because I am trying to get my hair healthier.... I am at loss of how to keep my curls curly until the next wash day..... I use Girls with curls Damage repair leave in conditioner A hair dryer with a diffuser I buy different shampoo and conditioner to try on my hair I use my denman brush I have to brush my hair a lot because it tangles very easy My hair is soft the next day after washing and conditioning it I love my curls and want to bring them back
Mell, could you do more videos on wavy hair? My hair is 1c/ loose 2a waves but I see potential in it. I have a few pieces that are a tighter wave and I think when I find the right products I can get better hair that makes it past 1 day before going straight. I love watching your videos though!
Love Texture Tuesday so freakin much!!! Great informational video as always!! 💕 Love the brown color on you as well!! It brightens your face even more!! Ciao Bella! 😀
Thank you so much I just learned a bunch of “ stuff” your hair is unbelievable just gorgeous you inspired me to cut some of the bottom off . I don’t want to , but it’s stringy and not curly like the rest of my hair . God only knows when the last time I got a trim I was afraid that if I cut it it would look like an Afro . I can’t wait to try the claw clips And the oil I def need oil in my hair I think it’s really damaged .
Thank you for this, I always had the mind set that mousse was a light weight and I’d add a lot of it. And I’ve always had volume problems so this is perfect thank youuuu 💜

Love love love texture Tuesday! I liked the tips and I’ve been parting my sections horizontally lately and it better for volume. The best thing I’ve done for volume is a loose pineapple under my bonnet.
I have wavy hair on the finer side but also have a lot of it so I struggle to get the volume I want… I recently tried It’s a 10 miracle volumizing shine treatment and it’s done wonders! The Aveda tonic is also a must have in my routine after I tried it per Mell’a recommendation on the channel :)

Have you tried rizos curls products ? I would love to see a product review by my mane girl Mel. I tried the conditioner and think It was a bit too oily for my hair.
Awesome 👌 thanks so much Mel ❤️..I. so basically you are using just one styling product...the foam... no leave in, no gel?. So basically it won't last longer... besides it won't fight humidity now with the summer humid environment?... 🤗...
I always clip up my hair in a banana clip and always have BIG hair. I never understood that root clipping trend with small alligator clips when banana clips are right there, and the best non damaging alternative to hair ties
You talk alot about hair getting weighted down when it comes to fine hair. Would love to hear more about thick/coarse/long hair that gets weighted down. It's an issue iv been struggling with for years. My hair is extremely long, thick, dense and pretty coarse. But my curls aren't tight like yours. So the weight of my hair (especially when wet or with product in it) it gets weighted down killing all the volume at the root and pulling my curls straight. It sucks.
I have incorporated almost all of your tips into my routine and while I can get volume initially, my hair deflates as the heat from diffusing dissipates. I haven’t tried the clips or the aubonacci. Is there one that is more reliably effective?
Love this cause my roots lay flat so much and it gives the appearance that one side of my head is super curly and the other side of my head is kinda wavy, curls are slowly coming back to the wavy side but still looks crazy for now till it decides to fully curl back up
Just wondering, do you part your hair on the side? Because I have noticed this in my own hair since I switched to a deeper side part. The 'thin' side will not ever curl as much as the thicker side. After my hair got used to the change it's starting to cooperate a little bit more. The thin side is definitely still wavy but the ends are more flippy curly than when I first switched my part.
@@kate7557 yes i part on the temple and the thinner side is not wanting to curl as much (which is the opposite of what i thought was going to happen) im trying to finger coil more to help it along but its taking awhile for it to curl compared to the thicc side that just curls up on its own

if you have longer hair it could been the sheer weight of it all. not too sure though, i just know thats what it was for me
The biggest solution to that would be getting layers or cutting hair shorter.
