    Just as a heads up, if you put the pipes around the outside of the pond you can fit six pumps in there with a bit of finessing. For my playthrough, that is what I did to get a 1200 MW coal plant (16 generators) going off of just that little pond and a Mk3 belt from a Mk2 miner on the coal by the cliff edge.

    • @Trehek
      @Trehek 4 місяці тому +2

    Tips for getting Dimensional storage.
    1. Find S.A.M. and mine it.
    2. Build a M.A.M. next to S.A.M. Yes, you can build more than one M.A.M.
    3. Build a Constructor to make Reanimated SAM.
    4. Use the crafting bench to make SAM Fluctuators. Make sure you take Wire and 10 modular frames, Steel Pipe and 5 Mercer Spheres. The pipes you can find searching for Hardrives.
    5. Research the Dimensional Depot Uploader.
    6. Place Miner MK1, Place 1 constructor, into a storage container and finally into1 x Depot. Reduce the constructor to make 2 per min, underclock the miner to Mine 10 per min.
    7. Power it all with a biomass burner running at about 2% with solid biofuel. This will run for hours.
    8. You now have unlimited Reanimated SAM on demand from your dimensional inventory.
    9. Return to your base, go about your business.
    10. Whenever you need to make SAM Fluctuators, make them at a crafting bench from the dimensional inventory. The SAM mining setup will then refill it again over time.

      There is more too it then that. they lowered the range that GI applies to objects dramatically. this is why sign "lights" dont work as well as they did in 0.8. you can undo this change by editing the Engine.ini file in the games appdata folder by adding "[SystemSettings]
      r.AOGlobalDistanceField.MinMeshSDFRadius=14" to get it back to 0.8 levels of global illumination. dosnt seem to effect performance. lol, then watching a bit further into the eppisode he actually shows the console command version of the fix.

    One of my friends and i have our own co-op game. When we set up our coal power we underclock the coal gens to 88.8889%. This changes the water requirements to 40m3 per minute so that one water exteactor feeds exactly 3 coal generators. Each generator then requires 13.333 repeating coal per minute. At 120 coal per minute (overclocked normal node or single pure node and a mk2 belt) we can run 9 coal gens with no fluid load balancing and get the same power as 8 gens at 100%

    • @paulelderson934
      @paulelderson934 3 місяці тому

      I sometimes underclock the water extractors to 75% for 90 water each. Easy math and piping, but takes a lot of space.
      But other times I just overclock the water extractor to 225% to get a nice 270 water and have it feed 6 gens in a single pipe. 3 coal gens if I overclock those to 200% each as well.
      Also makes for very easy math. 90 coal for each set of generators and a full 270 belt splits into 3 belts of 90. Each set of generators has its own dedicated overclocked water extractor.
      Perfect ratios, very space efficient, easy to troubleshoot

    One question that I keep having in the back of my mind is rough goals of outputs of certain items at each stage of the earlier game. With the wealth of content around the game at the moment it's very easy to have production lines that far exceed your needs. Trying to go back in and split things off to alter production lines, the space constraints are readily felt. I am thinking it's time to start building the main factory that will be taken into endgame, but not sure if I am quite at that point. Do I sprawl out a little more and do satellite assembles fed by storage chests to build more capital? Do I pull the trigger and start a large foundation for my next base? Do I do a big tear down and redesign my starter factory? I am sure others have reached this point before and figured it could be useful content to make.

How many different machines are you using for each material? I couldn’t really tell how many plate constructors, rod constructors, etc. you’re using. Nor how many are dedicated to storage versus going on to be used in reinforced plates/modular frames/ etc. I’d love some guidance on how you’re deciding where your resources are invested.

    thanks for the video, i'm always impressed by your organization for factories, i'm still struggling (even tho i did a big work i'm kinda proud of for the noob i am, doing a full 100% efficiency turbofuel from a 250% pure oil node ^^)
    you already know the tip to crouch to get to the bees without getting attacked, but for the big boars (not the little ones, they go through) i have a tip too, take a bit of distance btw you and him, just to have a clear straight line for him to run to you, and just build a stackable conveyor support on his way (the one with ladders on sides) he'll stop just in front of it and won't do anything else and won't be able to hurt you, it won't even try to throw rocks at you, you can just kill it easy as long as you don't move too much out of the way on the sides.
    If you wanna push it a bit further, you can build a blueprint of a cage (like a shark cage) with stackable conveyor supports for when encountering multiple big boars so you can manage them easily :)
    the dimensionnal depot for inventory is pretty usefull too since you'll be able to clear inventory when exploring, and adds 5 more slots to your inventory if you place in pieces that are already full (but i'm pretty sure you're already aware of that ^^)

      they are called "stingers". technically arachnids, as they have 8 legs and an exoskeleton, but they do not have fangs or make webs. they use four limbs to walk and four to stab with, being technically similar to a scorpion, except with four stingers. their movement pattern, sounds, and silhouette, however, seems to trigger a deep panic in most players. possibly due to an uncanny valley of being a mix of several insectoids.

    Sleeping in the hub beds is a great idea. It could fast forward the game so like when you get to a point where there's not much to do but wait for resources, you could skip it by sleeping.

    • @jefferylittleton1005
      @jefferylittleton1005 4 місяці тому +1

      There is never nothing to do, only a lack of imagination, exploration, and expansion.

      FICSIT isn't paying for you to sleep

    • @SineN0mine3
      @SineN0mine3 4 місяці тому +1

      I think this could cause problems with the incentive structure of the game. If you can skip forward in time, there's no reason for the player to improve the efficiency (or scale) of their builds.
      The fact that you constantly need more resources is your main motivation to automate production and manufacturing so that you don't get stuck waiting.
      When you run in to times when you're stuck waiting (at least once you're out if the early game) that's a sign that you're not producing enough of something so improving that is a natural next goal.
      It can also allow players to get further into the game without realising that they should be scaling up and expanding constantly, and they could end up in the early late game with crazy demands there's no way they can meet manually, and building a solution to that problem instead of incrementally expanding would require a not fun amount of grinding.
