The sisters were founded around M36, long after the Emperor became the Overpowered Steven Hawking. The original Order, Daughters of the Emperor was found by the mad Ecclesiarch Goge Vandire and recruited to be his guards, renamed into Brides of the Emperor.
At the end of the Reign of Blood, Dominica was led by the Custodes to the Emperor's presence, where she realized the error of her ways and turned on Vandire, beheading him.
The order would then be renamed to today's name of Adepta Sororitas, functioning as the chamber militant for the ecclesiarchy.
Extra on Saint Katherine: Her armor was left in a crypt in the shrine world of Sanctus Lys after her death. Saint Celestine would eventually rediscover and wear her armor to the present time
yeah i was looking for this comment. the sisters are my favorite faction (despite most of the lore being about the martyred and most of the sisters being basically the same person in fiction). i was hoping this would be about Ephrael Stern. oh well.
Adepta Sororitas should recive some new beefier power armors and maybe some genetic upgrades to make everyone happy and done.
Maybe Cawl mentinoning a female Primaris is possible to make but just harder, and so if on one story there's one people wont flip out, they would just be harder to make and really rare, but badass Adepta Sororitas do need more stuff, they have those semi knight armors, but still since they are just humans no dreadnoughts and stuff.
So in the end its better to just make it canon that Cawl is really dope and can do anything and so people buy heads from GW and add to their regiments whatever they want.

Or better yet with the Psychic Awakening, allow them to use miracles like a special power instead of having it being one offs for much of their history. If the last loyalist Word Bearer could summon the Emperor's light to instantly kill hordes of demons, imagine what his maidens can do

@@adrienwatson2179 they were probably referring to when the 6 sisters that went and met the emperor on the golden throne. They spoke with the emporer and sworn to secrecy what was said that day. Technically the emporer did directly lead them to action. But it still feels kinda wrong to word it that way.

Her bones are holy symbols of the Emperor and can banish lesser demons just by getting close to them. The Triumph of Saint Katherine is one of the coolest models.
The Sister of Battle is proof that you don't need female Astartes to have incredibly awesome female characters. These ladies hold their own in terms of being total badasses.
Plus they don't have any cheats like the Astartes... Pure mortal bodies but kicks as much ass

The sisters were never led by the emperor. He was long on the golden thrown by then. They were found by Vandire. Used as body guards, servants, and pleasure girls.

If youre gonna get one of the most central parts of the lore wrong, why make this lore video? We're not even talking about trivial or debated details in the canon, but core knowledge about the faction you chose to discuss...
By the time of the Reign of Blood the Emperor had been encased in the Golden Throne for several millennia. At the time of Saint Katherine the Imperium was ruled by Vandire who was not a physical combat leader, but he did create the Daughters of the Emperor which would eventually become the Sisters of Battle. You have created a very interesting piece of imperial propaganda that ret-cons originally technically traitors with a zealous heart to have ever been loyal.
I mean, there is no doubt that sisters are the best army....best lore, best looking minis, cool mechanics, they miss out on nothing

@@hang_kentang6709 first of all, just by looking at the number of character sisters have: considering even the ones that don't have a datasheet but still have minis, they have a lot of character with custom minis, and all of these characters have probably the coolest lore in 40k, the most grimdark for sure. Of course there isn't as much lore for sisters as the space marines, but I think the poster boys have a lot of dumb and boring stories. There isn't a single miss in sisters lore.
@@TemperingFaber3 Its just my opinion, but they missed out on some major character development as a faction after Alicia killed Vandire. They are still as zealous as before and only got upgraded the army of the Ecclesiarchy. Compare that to the SM that got shattered after the heresy and now ranges from zealots, to defenders of humanity that resents the imperium, all the way to full blown heretics. It means that even homebrew meme chapters like Scary Marines, Reasonable Marines, Angry Marines, etc would not look out of place in the setting. The sisters does not have that flexibility.
@@hang_kentang6709 as a faction, I would say that sisters lore is pretty new, so there isn't much on that yet (hopefully), but the characters are too cool and, even thou most doesn't have books about them, they still have awesome stories behind them. In my opinion, space marines have a lot of bad written stories (that doesn't mean there isn't anything good), and some of them feel rushed and forgotten, plus there are so many type of space marines, that it gets too dumb....that flexibility that you say is what I don't like about them xD, they become too generic in my opinion. But 40k in general is a really cool universe, and there is a reason why the poster boys are space marines, so I get what you are saying. Opinions matter💪🏻.
@@TemperingFaber3 The sisters are not new, they have been around since the 2nd edition. Its just that they have been written into a corner. For example, you can play as a reasonable space marine chapter that realizes the imperium is evil and the emperor had failed but decided that its the best shot humanity have at survival, but you cant do that with a sister's order without making it seems out of character.
My only nitpick is they didn’t exist before the emperor sat down on his lazy boy for 10 thousand years.
And they’ve never fought side by side with the emperor.
Only a few “surviving” characters in 40k have that honor

The Sisters of Battle didn’t exist for something like 1,000 years after The Emperor was put on life support. The original six only met and received visions from him, if their order had existed before the Horus Heresy he’d have wiped them out because of his hatred of religion

Dude, the Emperor never personally led any of the Daughters/Wives of the Emperor or the later Adepta Sororitas, since he had already been stuck on the Golden throne for a long time before even the Ecclesiarchy was founded, and long before Goge Vandire went to San Leor to recruit the Daughters of the Emperor into the Ecclesiarchy.
And as one of the founding members of the big six orders, Saint Katherine is hardly in the category of obscure Sororitas characters.

Order of Our Martyred lady was the order of Saint Sabbath, the Martyred (Martyred Lady, duh!).
That's pretty cool. So, who avenged St. Katherine? I'm assuming someone must have, this is 40K we're talking about here and heretics must burn as surely as the emperor sits upon the golden throne.
Sisters of Battle are strong due to each of them being granted Power armor but their faith in the emperor grants them a very small piece of his power at certain times which gives them an edge. If guardsmen has the same power armor the imperial guard would be much more effective however the mechanics could never fill such an order as there are hundreds of trillions of imperial guard. So they instead are given cheap cardboard armor that a Grot could shoot through lol
If I had a nickel for everytime there was something called “Sisters of Battle” in a fandom, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that Hollow Knight has it, and whatever this is has it too.

Apon there death there faith faltered ever so slightly but even then the emperor smiled apon them offering a second chance. The pungent smell of sulphur and a symphony of agony follow there wake as every worthy foe slain lessens there pain and sprouts a chard feather on they're scorched and mangled wings however everytime they are slain sheds there feathers to take form again and once more take up arms in hopes of one day basking in the emperors light. Give them a poster girl with almost complete wings but out of love for her sisters only weakens enemies for her sisters to get just a little closer the finishing they're atonement.

No, Saint Celestine is one of the few Living Saints, the six founding members of the Adepta Sororitas are the dead kind of saints, they can't come back.
But there is a model called the Triumph of Saint Katherine you can use in battles, it's basically Saint Catherines remains in a casket carried along by six hand-picked members of the Orders Pronatus, representing each of the six founding members (who are all now dead saints) and carrying sacred relics of the respective orders they represent.
Um they were created after the emperor fell, none of them served with the emperor.

In most cases you'll probably just be told off for wasting your time and theirs in stead of being productive for the Emperor.
The Sororitas aren't just killing machines, they're also often the ones in charge of humanitarian aid in warzones, running hospitals and soup kitchens and the like.
If she's wearing red armour however, you might get a beat-down, the Order of the Bloody Rose tend to be a bit punchy.

The Sisters of Battle have convents all across the galacy but the 2 big ones are on Ophelia IV and on Holy Terra (Earth). I got that info from wikis like the Lexicanum.
I don't remember the Emperor leading the Sisters of Battle, you need to be careful with your facts least you muddy the waters.

I can not like the Sororitas after their role in Flesh and Iron.
There's a couple of other examples, and I hate the Ministorum in general, but the Sororitas come off as pretentious even when they know they're in the wrong.
I suppose every faction has their moment, but Sororitas stand out among others.

Wouldn’t you be annoyed if you fought alongside the emperor in battle, believed in him, founded the order and died a hero’s death, only for him to pass you over and make some random girl the angel with enormous power and who keeps being bought back from the dead and is now one of the most recognised people in the Imperium
Saint Katherine is also still slaying pretty effectively on the battlefield, even from beyond the grave.
