Sisters of Battle is still an accurate name for them. "Adeptus Sororitas", "Astra Militarum," or "Adeptus Astartes" are the in-universe fancy, ceremonial High Gothic terms for those organizations; Sisters of Battle, Imperial Guard and Space Marines are the "low-gothic" vernacular equivalents (and thus more commonly used, in real life and in the fiction lol). Love the videos, you have helped me so much when it comes to painting!
Love the white/pink/black scheme I think the high contrast would look lovely on the table. Not sure the dot rendering added much, although that might be the camera flattening out the bright areas. Really enjoying these longer series so far!
They both look great but the Tan and Pink looks so good in a parallel universe that's the boxart scheme. It would be very interesting to see how you apply the scheme to the more lightly armoured models and the Rhino (i.e. i would love to see which bits of the rhino get the pink).
Really big fan of these new mini serieses. Loved the Agastus one and this looks promising as well. I like both schemes but I think I would prefer to see more of the metallic one.
Thank you so much Henry! This was exactly the video I needed to dive into a sisters project- the step by step and explanations are very much appreciated!
I love love love the army painting videos! Watching you paint one model and then move on to a bigger model and/or hero model or something like that is awesome! Love from a patron
both are really, really amazing! if i had to choose one, i'd say the white one, mostly because i think it would look really cool with that splash of pink throughout the unit. i know you said you mostly want to paint helmeted heads, but i really hope you paint at least one without the helmet, since i love the way you paint heads and would love to see how you'd paint a sister of battle :D
Loved the video. Lots of good tips about the mini and good technique regardless of the paint scheme. Personally, I love the red robes black armor, but i think this video helped walk me back a bit from needing to uber highlight and do 4 or 5 different colors on each section. Your point about focusing mainly on the robes and armor, at least for the rank and file, is a good one.
So excited the Combat Patrol series got more traction, I think this series and even a kill series would be great! I watch these to get inspiration I completely understand why patreon is important but watching videos like this makes me excited because it feels like a patreon video but I'm able to watch it. The white turned out great too!! I can't wait to see more definitely think the lighter scheme should be the color scheme
They both feel like they need something extra, just a splash of something to pull the eye. The ivory scheme has a big dark void around the gun, so maybe the gun needs some colour just to separate it from the gloves; the dark metal scheme needs a colour to draw the eye, it's all very similar contrast, maybe make the yes glow, or a a bold colour to one part of the armor, like how the iron warriors have the hazard stripes. They're both good but I don't have a specific favorite yet since they both feel just shy of complete. Still, both are superbly painted.
Bone scheme wins it for me, that pink is gorgeous. Would love to see the tank done in those colours and curious to see how the penitent engine would turn out. I love the metallic scheme as well, look like gritty, practical, no nonsense nuns with guns. Great job on both as always Henry!
I picked up painting a couple of months ago and chose SoB as my first army. I really liked the white one as it is similar to my initial plan for a colour scheme, but lacked the skills to pull off confidently. Instead I stumbled into a light(ish) grey armor that kind of gives the impression of concrete (imo) and still pairs nicely with some purple robes. As Bob Ross would say: "Happy little accidents." Anyway, looking forward to the series. I've been fiending for some Sororitas painting content as there really isn't enough of it.
Great timing, I'm working on the Combat Patrol for Adepta Sororitas right now. Doing the armor in a rich purple scheme, with dark robes. So I'm happy to see you paint up a Combat Patrol as well! I really like your bone scheme and am looking forward to seeing the continuation of this project.
the metallic scheme would fit the grimdark aesthetic you're looking for, perhaps with an OSL glow effect on the eye lenses would look great too IMO, however they both look fantastic, great work!
Top bananna , Cheers for taking the time on the sisters Henry. Personally still working on my Heresy box sets . But the recipes will come in handy for an up coming faction i have an idea for .
I reckon the metallic scheme but with the Fuchsia robes/another fairly bright robe colour would look amazing. Reminds me of the classic medieval style of cold steel armour with heraldic patterns over the top.
Love them both. The lighter one is getting a lot of love, and I can see why. I suspect that the Metallic scheme would pop a bit more with a warmer tone on the cloak.
The purple robes for sure have you considered trying the metal armour with the purple robes. Using like a bluish silver to pop agains the reddish purple
Hi Henry, love love love the bone colour (I'm doing my stormcast baded on your deathwing guide and my sisters using your Knights Excelsior Guide), but I'm not sold on the black robes. Also really digging the more utilitarian look of the iron sister with brown robes - but I wouldn't love that scheme on the transport. So my vote goes to the bone theme. ❤
The metallic/brown scheme is grim and all but i LOVE the creamy armor and magenta/black robes. Such a nice paintscheme and with some dark dirty bases they are gonna pop real well on the table i think! Also, keep them with the helmets on! Maybe unit leaders without to mix it up but they have such cool helmets it would be a shame to skip them.
Metallic is more distinctive, I think. But the dirty white looks really good. I think the brown would look better with another layer of highlight on the robes, and/or a lighter inner surface for the robes, as this stage looks just a tad too dark. Whereas the other, with the dirty white and magenta lining to the cloak has way more contrast of light value.
I ran into the same issue, where the oil wash doesn't deposit enough pigment to add that level of distinction/contrast that i wanted. I've subsequently moved back to the gloss varnish/Agrax Earthshade (the new mix is pretty awesome) combo, and the results are just amazing. No tide marks, no nothing, due to me being careful in my wash application.
I love the metallic scheme, has a great medieval vibe to it. Not to sure about the blue accents though. The white scheme seems to flat for me, though I’d like to see the rhino done up like it to see what you’d do.
Fantastic models and I'm really looking forward to the rest of this series. I love sisters and it's great to see the process of picking a scheme and implementing it across an army. I vote for the white/bone coloured scheme
White armour all the way! The metallic brown is certainly impressive, but that magenta punch wins it for me! Nothing says 40K more than walking towards your enemy wearing a bright colour!
So stoked for this! I am a fairly new painter, have done a few test models and am trying to decided between the classic black/white/red or a grimdark white.... So the lighter scheme gets my vote!! Just joined the Patreon, can't wait for more.
Silver! If for no other reason than I'm planning on a metallic paint scheme for a marine army and would love to see how you do both the figures and vehicles.
While the magenta one looks nicer, the grim dark silver one also looks completely solid. I'd be happy with either one. One of the things that I always want to know with most of these painting tutorials how hard would it be to paint all this up without an airbrush. and be able to achieve either of these schemes. Kinda was thinking that the metal scheme might work for my marines, might have to bust out the testers (indomitus marines).
The ivory scheme for sure. However I think exploring ways to create detail over steel armours is a worthwhile video in its own right. I've tried multiple times to make a 'busy' steel scheme with little to no satisfaction in the results. I'd be very grateful to see your musings on the topic.
I like the bone, there also aren't a ton of more in-depth tutorials on how to paint it, plenty on white but not a ton on off whites that aren't bordering on tan or light khaki.
While I've long had the idea of painting up a Sisters force in the classic Bretonnian colours with the silver armour and red/blue robes, I think the lighter scheme works better here. It pops more for sure.
It's a difficult choice! Personally, I love both but I think that the Rhino in the brown/black/metallic scheme will be maybe more challenging and more interesting to watch :)
Love the browns and the pinks. both scheme's are cool, but my pick would be the brown robed-one. the armour on the lighter scheme does look a little better... but i really do not like how much black there is on the outer surface of the robes in that scheme. So for me, I say Go with the brown one (and figure out a way to pop that metal a little more ;))
I really like the metallic scheme myself, gives me some more Medieval vibes. I was considering doing something like this for a Kill Team of Sisters. Think I may give it a shot!
Hi Henry, I paint with Liquitex soft body acrylics because I need to know the precise pigment and pigment number. As far as I can tell GW’s nuln oil, with regards to pigments is a mix of transparent iron oxide PR101 found in the liquitex ink Transparent Burnt Sienna PR101 and an equal part of Ultramarine Blue PB29 (red shade). Both of these pigments are transparent and the very unusual property is that when mixed they create a type of black/grey/metal colour which in the correct ratio seems to lose its soul or mojo. It is quite weak (even spineless) and doesn’t have the presence of a true black. Considering that your vids are at the cutting edge of painting technique would you consider using a transparent black for the shadows? It also gives the added advantage of very fine transition from black to either blue or orange/brown.
Hi Peter, I feel like these videos are a long way from the cutting edge of painting. A slightly glossier black could have been a better choice to reinforce shadows for sure though.
Ivory/bone & magenta/fusia gets my vote, the metallic is definitely more grim dark but lacks definition in my humble opinion.
I love the white armored one. It serves as a good contrast between the armor and the robes
100% the light version! Something about the colour palette on the brown one jars for me.
The light scheme is awesome! Love it!
The ivory scheme gets my vote, they would look so good as an army.
The bone scheme is amazing
I love this. Please continue this series as there is not enough army crafting content.
Sisters of Battle is still an accurate name for them. Really enjoying these longer series so far!
It may be that we leave the oil dots for the larger pieces.
Love the lighter scheme - very nice

The metal colored one gave me Captain Phasma vibes, and definitely not an often seen scheme for Sisters. Metal gets my vote 👍
Really big fan of these new mini serieses. Loved the Agastus one and this looks promising as well. I like both schemes but I think I would prefer to see more of the metallic one.
The Ivory one is awsome. I like the "pink touch" that bring some contrast.
Thank you so much Henry! This was exactly the video I needed to dive into a sisters project- the step by step and explanations are very much appreciated!

That trick with the sprue glued to the foot blew my mind I’ve been painting for years and never thought of that thank you so much
So excited the Combat Patrol series got more traction, I think this series and even a kill series would be great! I’d like to add more Kill Teams for sure.

I prefer the light one. :)
I love the bone armor, but I also love the brown robes! If I were painting up sisters I'd mix the two together. Very hard to make a decision!
This. I vote for the bone armor, brown robes and nmm gold details (a bit dulled, light gold, non-metallic).
Bone scheme wins it for me, that pink is gorgeous. Would love to see the tank done in those colours and curious to see how the penitent engine would turn out. I love the metallic scheme as well, look like gritty, practical, no nonsense nuns with guns. Great job on both as always Henry!
Nice and simple! This is a hard choice!! I think a white tank would be cool to see and selfishly I would learn the most!!! Thanks Henry!!!!

both schemes look good, I think the Light grey scheme is more striking, and the red/ magenta gives it an extra pop
I really like the light bone colour
Love them both. The lighter one is getting a lot of love, and I can see why. I suspect that the Metallic scheme would pop a bit more with a warmer tone on the cloak.
The purple robes for sure have you considered trying the metal armour with the purple robes. Using like a bluish silver to pop agains the reddish purple
I love the bone/ceramic colored one. The metallic scheme, although stellar as well, is missing separation on the armor.
Both colours are gorgeous, but I prefer the ivory & pink. The ivory boots on the very matte dirty ground is a lovely look.
The white scheme looks great. I think it'd look even better with the brown robes from the other scheme ;)
I’ll see where I can make that work
the light scheme looks nicer for me, but both are indeed great, looking forward to it regardless of what is chosen!
Very nice. So simple looking, yet requires a lot of skill. Plan, clean, colour scheme.
Both look great. Literally making me reconsider my in progress sisters army. Though for me I will side on the light armour camp. Looks so good.
I'd go for the Ivory. Looks fantastic and I really enjoyed the oil painting tricks!
That ivory scheme is superb.
Definitely the light scheme. I'm very happy this series is continuing
Hope you do more army / double scheme videos. They are super helpful to see how you apply these techniques to different model types.
Definitely the first scheme!
And maybe an inverted scheme for the HQ/Elites character so they can stand from the mass
The bone&magenta is incredible, I'd go with that one.
I'd have to go for the ivory one. But the light blue on the fleur de lis icons looks so good with the brown, I was definitely tempted.
Im surprised at how much I love the metallic scheme! Would love to see more of that one and how to make more muted schemes sing
I'd be happy with both lol, you've done a fantastic job with both. I think Ivory with black magenta robes is my fav.

Absolutely adored this video and so excited to see more Sisters of Battle videos in the near future
Thanks Ollie
Personally I love the metallic scheme, love that brown robe/leather look that it has, makes it feel grittier and raw.
I love the metallic scheme, has a great medieval vibe to it. Not to sure about the blue accents though. The white scheme seems to flat for me, though I’d like to see the rhino done up like it to see what you’d do.
That white armor is just too good to not see more of it, but I might use that exact brown skirt scheme for some Stormcast tabards.
Would love this sisters series to continue
Fantastic models and I'm really looking forward to the rest of this series. I love sisters and it's great to see the process of picking a scheme and implementing it across an army. I vote for the white/bone coloured scheme
They really are such great minis
White armour all the way! The metallic brown is certainly impressive, but that magenta punch wins it for me! Nothing says 40K more than walking towards your enemy wearing a bright colour!

Hard to beat black and red right!
@@cultofpaint The classics never go out of style!
Definitely the bone white scheme for me. I liked the silver but the pale armour with the magenta robes is 😘👌
My vote for the light/ivory scheme. The contrast with the black and magenta robe also makes it even better.
I adore the brown and metallic scheme, but it's clearly going to be the flashier ivory pink one, and i'm honestly okay with that. Both are beautiful
Silver! If for no other reason than I'm planning on a metallic paint scheme for a marine army and would love to see how you do both the figures and vehicles.
Won't lie I may steal your light paint scheme but substitute a royal Roman purple for the pink. Really impressed with the outcome
The ivory magenta scheme is 10/10. Seriously considering buying the box now 😁
Sisters are my favorite 40k models. Really glad to see Henry doing them, especially since they aren’t red and black
The light scheme gets my vote and loving the combat patrol series.
Henry is the type of guy that I would've love to paint beside him and yapping about heretic sisters
Heretic sisters!!!!???????!!!!!!
the bone one with magenta robes. I saw it and now will use that one myself most likely :)
The Ivory scheme looks great. I would love to see the rest of the Sisters in this scheme.
The metalic scheme did look good.
Light scheme. You could do some great vehicles in those colors. The silver sceme is cool, but the vehicles and large flat panels may look a bit plain.
White armor and gold accents is my vote but id probably like a darker red for the cape.
I think I'm going to do a very similar scheme to the first one for my daughter's sisters.
I've always thinned Tamiya with IPA.
The white + purple robe one is very nice!
It’s the bone/ivory armour for me. Lovely work
While the magenta one looks nicer, the grim dark silver one also looks completely solid. I'd be happy with either one.

Ivory, black, & magenta for the win… better contrast and more interesting to the eye. 👌
The ivory scheme for sure. However I think exploring ways to create detail over steel armours is a worthwhile video in its own right. I've tried multiple times to make a 'busy' steel scheme with little to no satisfaction in the results. I'd be very grateful to see your musings on the topic.
I’m pretty confident with along the steel scheme work. I had some success with Iron Warriors
@@cultofpaint think that's the only vid I haven't watched. I'll have a watch 😊
@@cultofpaint Yeah I do agree, after watching that. The Iron warriors metal workflow is really nice.
I like the bone, there also aren't a ton of more in-depth tutorials on how to paint it, plenty on white but not a ton on off whites that aren't bordering on tan or light khaki.
I absolutely love both of those scheme, to the point that it made me buy models to try them.
The lighter scheme looks awesome, so would love to see a combat patrol in this scheme.
While I've long had the idea of painting up a Sisters force in the classic Bretonnian colours with the silver armour and red/blue robes, I think the lighter scheme works better here. It pops more for sure.
Brettonnia project coming next year ;)
Really enjoying this serie, love the idea of doing kill teams too
I love the silver one. Especially thé Brown robes
I would love to see many combat patrol boxes painted with original paint schemes!
It's a difficult choice! Personally, I love both but I think that the Rhino in the brown/black/metallic scheme will be maybe more challenging and more interesting to watch :)
Love the first scheme! It looks a lot like the sisters I did as the Order of the Luminous Shield. Only much better, lol.
Love the browns and the pinks. both scheme's are cool, but my pick would be the brown robed-one. the armour on the lighter scheme does look a little better... but i really do not like how much black there is on the outer surface of the robes in that scheme. ivory and fucsia is amazing. I love it.
Amazing stuff. I wanna see the metallic scheme with more grime!
I really like the metallic scheme myself, gives me some more Medieval vibes. I was considering doing something like this for a Kill Team of Sisters. Think I may give it a shot!
Hard to choose, both are exceptional. 💯
They’re both lovely schemes, I’d be happy to see either. Though I’ll definitely be stealing the silver and brown for my own project
Tamia thinner is just 50/50 water/alcohol and a bit of flow improver and retarder. I make 2 litres at a time at a very small fraction of the price.
Hi Henry, I paint with Liquitex soft body acrylics because I need to know the precise pigment and pigment number.

I love the ivory color. It actually makes me want to repaint my own army
