By the time the whole company is armored up and ready to go, the imperial guard would have won the battle with 95% casualty rate.
It seems like they do this on purpose because the guard can't win, or perhaps because they need an exceptionally high mortality rate before they can show off.
I think your off by 4.99999% added to the guard casualty rate

Surely someone else has already pointed this out. This is NOT the making of a space marine, this is just the ritual of one getting suited up for battle.

I love the ritual of putting the armor. It's a representation of becoming more than human. you're not longer an individual, but a sacred tool of the emperors wrath. With that armor every step you take blesses the ground, every world you speak becomes a hymn and every brother sacrificed becomes a true martyr
I hear what you're saying, but I think what happens to make a space marine makes them completely inhuman. It's one of the core tragedies of WH40k - humanity have become monsters to survive. Arguably, it's not worth it.
@@SteveLeCanard Adeptus Mechanicus; there's a reason why the engineers have so much fun with the creation of the armor; ready the rights, and read the scriptures over and over.
@@SteveLeCanard well yeah, but a space marine without the armor, still feels human. A really huge and buff human, but a human at least. You could compare to one, to see their eyes and know that they feel just like you. Like, even with all the modifications, the base product was a fellow human just like you, there's still some sort kinship. At least I see it that way
Does it come with Health insurance?
@@diegoolivares1081 Physically, yes. But I'd argue that they've given up all the qualities that make them human. It makes me think of Jin-Roh, if you've ever seen it. Putting on the armor makes them no longer human.

Yes
Definitely) Though taking into consideration copying the scene of armoring the space marine from Starcraft 2 intro, we can expect such a new class in WoW)

@@XvicvicX Didn't Blizzard was originally supposed to make a WarHammer game, but didn't agree on the rights or something and ended up making WarCraft?
Anyhow, there are clear inspirations from WarHammer in both franchises (WarCraft & StarCraft)
Since in Warhammer, the ability to make more space marines is evidently finite because the armor can't be replicated, I prefer starcraft.
For those who also want to give the speech of becoming a Space Marine:
“I accept these burdens as the Imperium bleeds.”
“I accept these burdens knowing no fear.”
“I accept these burdens as an angel of the Emperor.”
“I sheathe my form in a second skin, this veil of machine-muscle and false nerves.”
“I stand firm against the alien, the mutant, the heretic.”
“I grant no mercy, I give no ground.”
“With humility I bear the Imperialis, the symbol of loyalty unbroken.”
“With reverence I receive actuation, awakening the armor’s spirit.”
“With pride I wear the symbol of my chapter, and join my brothers in war.”
“I am iron, I am wrath, I am doom.”

@@NoOneToRememberwhy
The Adeptus Mechanicus emphatically approves of the proper rituals and technology used in the creation of the Space Marines, and the resultant strength demonstrated by Captain Titus. The machine alone may have the strength and certainty of steel, but the human heart and mind direct such strength. To fuse these instruments of the Omnissiah - flesh and nerve, steel and synapse, cogitator and cortex, is to realize a small fraction of the potential in our Lord's Divine Will. One more step towards his infallible architecture.

The scene where the Terminator squad teleports in with guns blazing is so unbelievably sweet. Victory!
And utterly pointless. Sending first company terminators into middle of the clusterfuck caused by utter incompetence. Leaving individual marines, specially such important individuals as apothecary alone middle of the battlefield, or having heavy support get wasted by mere few hundred cannon fodder. One marine is suppose to conquer town, squad a city, company a planet, chapter a subsector, a legion...whole sector and all the imperial might combined a galaxy or two... yet they loose several squads and specialists to what could be considered a pebble on the road. Attrition rates in this are staggering and no where sustainable even for a campaign. Director fucked up bad and should be ashamed.

They probably wouldn't have cigars or smoking in the 40k universe, and a space marine certainly wouldn't be smoking in the real canon
I am so hyped for the new 40k show, it's immediate rise to glory to become a fan favorite and the eventual downfall after the script writers who know nothing about the source material continue to force their bullshit into the script and Cavill rage quitting because they keep defiling the show. leaving the producers with ??? above their heads wondering where they went wrong as it all comes burning down. RIP Witcher
Cavill should NOT be the emperor. If you want to know why look up the article of the same name.
Just finished the first half of the newest season. Not sure how it'll go on w/o Cavill. It's already a mess, he's the saving grace.
@@5.0joe50it is in fact, a mess.
There's a big difference here as Cavill is actually one of the producers, meaning he can most likely kick the script writers to kingdom come if they don't show the source material the reverence it deserves.
I truly hope Cavill begins demanding total creative control. I trust that man with our fandoms, he only wants to respect the work, while pompous writers believe they're BETTER than the work they're supposed to be elevating

Dawn of War 1 and 2, Space Marine, Adaptus Mechanis, Boltgun, Darktide and both Chaos Gate and Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters were all bangers.
I've always been confused that despite how aggressively litigious Games Workshop is when it comes to their IP, they constantly license it to low budget/low effort game developers. I hope Space Marine 2 turns out good.
@@patrickbateman312 Space Marine was a right game at the right time. Could someone tell me why theres never been 40k movies? It’s got everything needed, more storylines, more lore, worlds and characters than anything I can think of! CG is more than capable of pulling of the visuals, so don’t get why it’s not been picked up by a big studio 🤷🏻♂️
because of GW. they don't want to
@@MissYijare Makes no sense though! It’d be a massive boost for game sales, which I’d guess they need considering how much they must be losing out to 3d printing. Just don’t see a down side to making movies from the franchise.
@@Yosser70 GW hates their fans unironically. It's the same reason a new full fledged AAA RPG in the universe hasn't been made. They are so controlling and particular with absolutely every aspect of their IP that no one wants to get involved with the hassle of figuring out how they want it done, and they won't just give that direction themselves. There was a thing back when one of the games released (maybe Total Warhammer) where the modding scene for the game was almost decimated because the devs claimed GW tried to tell steam that they didn't want any mods that were: Not canon, Silly, lore breaking, based on OCs or content not officially supported by GW, used unapproved assets, assets that were not created by GW, etc etc. Steam promptly told them that THEY were in charge of the workshop and if it didn't violate ToS it would not be removed and their requests would not be honored. This almost caused GW to pull all their games from steam, but thankfully they realized this was too stupid even for them to actually do.
Basically they wanted to make it this way because it meant free content instead of DLC purchases. Also the devs were in on this slightly too because they didn't want people to be able to make content better than their paid content for free. GW also just turns down so many ideas for movies and games when people DO want to make them that at this point it's a crap shoot. There is also the conspiracy of them not wanting the franchise to escape niche status because the influx of a bunch of new players always created problems for them when they look into the companies consumer hating history.
Tl;dr GW is a greedy overprotective parent toward their IP and no one wants to get involved with them, and when they do GW often shoots them or themselves in the foot and ends up scrapping the entire thing, this has happened an insane number of times, with each time seemingly posed to be positive for the community and them financially. You can only mention their official canon also, which sucks because almost all of the coolest stories are Fan Fics or OC and not actually published or written by GW, and they know it.
@@Bobdylan12121 All that rings very true mate. I used to game at Warhammer World in Nottingham. We’d play all sorts of games, often developing games off the core rules that GW could publish. Had a fantastic Nepoleonic rules set based of the fantasy set but it all got shut down by GW. They made rules where only GW games could be played, couldn’t use none GW models etc. It seems to me they want to draw people in for that first few hundred quid spend then don’t care if they stay or go elsewhere. Pity really, maybe Henry Cavel can persuade them to do something in the future.
Henry Cavil of Superman fame is a TOTAL 40K fan and player..... He and some others are working to get some movies out......

This is only armoring a space marine. This is not how a space marine is born/made, whatever you want to call it. And at some point GW will have to admit there are more Chapters than the Ultramarines and Blood Angels.
NEVER!
There are like 5 space marines in the whole galaxy and 4 of them just got eaten by tyranids. Oh, and that last marine went on to single highhandedly fight off an entire hive fleet. His name... was CATO SICARIUS.
There are millions of Space Marines. Yes they are only about 0.0001% compared to normal people in the empire, but the empire is composed of TRILLIONS AND TRILLIONS of people. They have millions of space marines and hundreds of space marine chapters. They're just not usually talked about. Also, Space marines RARELY die. The only reason people think they do is because the media isn't cool or fun if they literally win every battle, and so most of the media surrounding them are about extremely rare and insane battles where they actually had losses. It would be nothing for a single space marine to take out an entire ork planet by himself. The only time multiple are even ever needed are with the more insane creatures, and in 99% of the stories that are never told, a space marine never dies even when single handedly going up against 99% of creatures in the universe. It's the fact that if everyone wrote about how they went in killed everything in minutes and left would be really boring (but entirely canonical and realistic). A single marine could easily kill a hive, in fact that's usually what happens.
