@Lord Admiral Spire Most people only really know the zealotry from Soulstorm, which is highly unlike how the sisters act at all in lore. They may be a middle ground between Astartes and Guard, but they inspire hope, faith, heal the sick and dying, and bring unshakeable morale to their allies. They are warriors of conviction and heroes in the darkest corners of the galaxy. That is the true Sisters. They can be easily as merciless to their enemies as any astartes, but they can be as kind and warm to their imperial allies as though they are the closest siblings.
Well done, Remembrancer. I saw a Sister once, she was the most beautiful and terrifying, and humbling thing I have ever seen. And I've seen artillery fire for effect danger close.
@Mark Grimes hey unhelpful dick in the comment section. When you are asked for a source a source is a page number, or document containing the information requested. Considering I asked Jason months ago..you coming in here saying 'check your codex' is about as helpful as air holes in a boat. But dont worry I will do your job for you. In the current sisters of battle codex pgs 11 and 12 cover the 6 main sisters that go before the emperor. 1. No mention is mad of what happened in there. 2. No color swaps mentioned after. 3. Why would it happen to just one sister and 4. Why isnt it mentioned further on in the section for our martyed lady? Because in the current book, the 2nd edition codex, the witch hunters codex, the imperial agents book, the white dwarf codex, no wiki, no d4chan article..nothing. it took me..37min to check everything. So i would advise be more helpful next time and consider some one wouldnt ask for a source if its something so commonly found in a codex. Because you are not helping and you are furthering an untruth.
@Mark Grimes because you are wrong, and I think the OP is incorrect. The point is you dont know shit. And you are not responding or backing up anything. Be wrong and deal with it. If digging up the hard copies and looking is funny to you fine. Remember I wasnt asking you. You saw yourself into the request. It was a month and month old dead topic anyway and it didnt need bumped. Fail less and dont trip on all that teen anxst

@@Baldermort I mildly disagree, I've been a 40k player for 17 years and like the BL and the lore prior to it being almost a hobby in itself. And yet I think your intros and synopses are excellent even for someone as jaded as me who actually owns the Realms of Chaos books. Subpoint The Emperor is right GOGE VANDIRE seriously no one is promoting a guy with a name that evil. I'd probably set about him with a hammer on introduction.
That intro story, holy throne... it was as if I was there sitting next to the fire while my great uncle recounted a war story, that again made me feel like I was watching him in his story. A story told so damn well that I was immersed then immersed in my immersion. Me and my Platoon would gratefully serve as your meat shield
Your best work to date, Baldermort. You say it was late, well the wait was worth it. Your humility speaks volumes of your character, brother. But you have such a gift and talent for oratory. Have no doubt you’re doing some excellent work here.
Richard Kesner thank you, good sir. I always feel the music deserves most of the acclaim. Also - I’ve sadly watched a few incredibly gifted and entertaining youtubers ruin themselves by forgetting - they’re not the product. The work is what is the appeal. I never ever want to go that way. As always though, half the ability in these entries come from the brotherhood here. I listen and learn as much from the community as they from me. It’s symbiotic in my kind. We all love Warhammer. We are equals. Always. Sorry for waffling On. Got another cold that is making me fuzzy as fudge. Sorry. Thank you for listening brother. Always. :).
This is the video that got me into 40k. It's so visceral, so real, and at the end, so inspiring. Baldermort can tell a story that really pulls you into the world
Wait, don't repeat! That just leads to the cancelling of the intended 'thumbs up'!! And I hope I don't I need to go into the obvious bad idea rinsing your phone/computer/cogitator is... Lol
Same here lol. I don’t even wait to watch the video first anymore, I just give it a thumbs up as soon as it loads. I’ve been binging Baldemort’s content for like 2 months now and there literally hasn’t been a single video I haven’t absolutely loved
I have been playing SoB since 2006, my army is a ton of metal, and this video's intro reminds me of why I play them. I really miss having Inquisitors, but I am okay with losing them. As long as my fellow sisters fight I will be with them. The Emperor Protects! Also your voice is so wonderful, the Britishness plus the growliness is delightful. I hope you get a role in "If the Emperor had a text to speech device".
That intro was exactly what I needed after listening to you narrate The Longest Second. It is a god dam shame you aren't employed by GW in some form or fashion.
Wow am I glad I came across this video. I love that the sororitas are being recognized as the total badasses they are. Well written and, of course, excellently performed. Subbed
The sister of battle were what got me into WH 40k and OG WH later on. A random portait of a sister walking away from a burning battlefield but did not know from where it came from. Later on I got to play Dow: Soulstorm. Saw they were playable, started the campaign and a firecracker went click in my head. From then on I was hooked on 40k after witnessing how cool a Living Saint was.
Man I wish I could listen to this for the first time again. I remeber when I did I came from school and popped my headphones on and listened while I ate. As I continued to listen I didn't even notice that I stopped eating and was just standing there in my kitchen, totally sucked into it and standing statue still. By the end of it I put down my plate, had a little tear in my eye and pressed rewind. I even shared it to my entire class and wrote a story based on it. If you can, never stop Lord Baldy, never stop
Listen Baldermort, I dont leave many comments. Ever. And I have never played Warhammer. Except once on computer playing dawn of war dark crusade. But I've subscribed and been listening to all of your content. Your voice and stories are INSPIRING. Motivated me to get into the tabletop, get models and paint. Learn the lore and the game. You got me hooked. Thank you Brother.
Its intensely nice of you to share this, brother. I am elated that you have taken the plunge Its a great little hobby and a great distraction in very complex times. Thank you for taking the time out to relate that and,,,,,, WELCOME TO WARHAMMER BROTHER!!! :)
I've only just started learning of the 40k universe. After watching a video outlining all the factions, the Sisters immediately jumped out to me as the coolest, and now I'm trying to learn all I can about them. The Emperor protects!
A while back, before my boyfriend and I split; we both played Warhammer 40k. He expected me to play an Adepta Sororitas army. I simply told him, “Their not the faction for me. That honor belongs… to the Tau.” The look on his face was genuinely priceless 🤣.
The adepta sororitas get a bad reputation largely because of the game Soulstorm. The Order of the Sacred Rose was ridiculously overzealous fanatics, but they hardly speak for the rest of the Orders Militant. Many of the Sister Orders are various degrees of zealotry, but more often than not they are very kind toward Guardsmen, and to an extent, they bolster morale even moreso than Astartes. Guard regiments have proclaimed that the Sisters of Battle have treated them as equals, and that the hospitalers who perform their holy tasks may take time to weep at the deaths of even lowly guardsmen, but they will continue to do their duty in the Emperor's name. The Sororitas can be even more zealous than Astartes, but they also possess some of the kindest and most compassionate souls in the Imperium at large. Absolutely terrific video as always.
Bruh...I just bought the McFarlane action figure cause I thought it looked cool.... I didn't know I was getting a kickass zealot. She will have her own shelf space. Don't want her to go decapitating my other figures. Thank you for this video!
I know it’s 2 years old but, bravo on that intro! You did such a good job of the narrative and the music. The lore is well done too! Bravo good man, bravo
Im 3 years late, and I rarely leave any comments on youtube videos... But I was so moved by the intro story... I could feel the hope of the guardsman abandoning him completly. But then...a true miracle... Absolutely brilliant story. You have gained a subscriber.
Heretics crave the cleansing fire of absolution. They need not fear, for we shall deliver it to them. - Canoness Josmane of the Order of the Sacred Rose

every bad ass who has a bad ass sister, knows that for every space marine, there is a sister of battle. looking out for one another. unshakable faith, and fury. FOR THE EMPEROR!
This sounds like the guy from Darkest Dungeon, forreal. There are so many nerdy lore channels that I just can't sit through because they don't have this professional quality narrator; not only do they have a voice worthy of the Emperor lol, but he nails it consistently. Based on Baldemort's lack of computer skill, I just find it hard to believe it's heavily edited. Basically, this guy actually makes me wanna buy the army he's doing the background for.
I put it through background sound reducers (buzz of the computer) and then amplify. That';s it. Taking out the breathing takes ages though. :( I wish i had the computer skills to increase the quality in visuals and sound effects, but am slowly trudging uphill to get that done. Its slow, but I hope it is paying off. :) Thanks for listening, brother Braow. :)
@@Baldermort I've continued listening and I'll say that you shouldn't worry about the visuals right now. Yours are just fine. Just keep focusing on clean edits where needed. Hmmm, I'd personally love more expansion on some details. Like, breaking up some of these longer, block quotes with your own interpretations of the lore as a whole. Hopefully that makes sense anyway! Basically, I want to hear more of your voice hahahaha.
Brother Baldermort, the intro story really did emphasise the angelic aspect of the Sisters of Battle. A splendid narration. By the Emperor! When the Adeptus Astartes are the Angels of Death, the Adepta Sororitas are the Angels of Hope.
The intro story brought me to tears, literally. This is the video that put me over sir, you have made a subscriber out of me. I've been perusing your posted videos for a few days now gentle narrator (love the gentle listener line by the by) and as a writer and lover of fantasy and an on again off again 40k lore fan your videos are quite honestly and vividly inspiring me. Perhaps, just perhaps, it'll stir my own creative juices and I'll get back to rewriting my book. Cheers Mr. Baldemort -JJ
Sister are 100% what got me back into 40K after about a 7 year break, I used to play chaos. But their lore and their new models drew me back into the hobby. I haven’t been this excited about 40K since I started back in 2008. Your narration is truly incredible and I appreciate the way you bring the lore to life, wish I’d found your channel sooner
I'm going to be honest: I've never played the tabletop. Never bought or painted my own army - and I don't really want to do either. But I've always found Warhammer 40k fascinating - occasional missteps by GW aside. I've never cared too much to dive in to the lore of the Astartes (with one exception) or Mechanicus, or any of the massively augmented factions, xenos or Chaos forces. But the Astra Militarum and Adepta Sororitas have always interested me. Because they are made of people who are - underneath all their training, weapons and armor - only people. Not genetically engineered superhumans, not space wizards or anything. Just human. This video - especially the small audio drama prologue - was a treat to listen to. I hope you keep doing these.
By the Throne, get yourself more views. These videos are absolutely fantastic. The story, the *storytelling*, the music, choice of artwork, these videos are amazing.
This was my first time on your channel. I couldn't subscribe fast enough once the intro concluded. As with others who have commented: I had tears in my eyes. You, sir, are an artist.
I've only been a subscriber for less than a week now, going back through your older videos as they come up on my suggested feed. The opening to your videos before you even get to the main bit of information has yet to leave me with dry cheeks or a still heart. Truly you are a genius of the pen, and a saint of the page. Bravo you magnificent bastard.
My Dear sir, your skills of articulation are as formidable as the ferver and faith of the sister's themselves. Each video you put out leaves me in awe, as you continue to get better and better. I can simply not wait to share your channel with more of my friends.
Dear Brother Ma Lin, thank you for this open handed and generous comment. I appreciate it very much. I will endeavour to live up to this incredible expectation. Just be kind if I fail it. But do, for the love of the Emperor, tell me. This site has been a collective effort and always will be. Without the brotherhood, I would have quit or be producing bilge like the Prognostications. Many many thanks indeed. :)
Simply stunning and the Sisters themselves are not bad either. Extremely well done Brother as are all your videos. I find the Sisters fascinating and honestly quite stunning, even when they're not by most standards. There's just something I can't quite put my finger on about them. As always I truly hope you find time for a bit of fun for yourself and thank you for another truly wonderful bit of fun you've given us all...
"Gentle listener" hahahhhhahahaaaa...ahem...right. What I meant to say was that the Adepta Sorroritas could almost be considered the last breathing bastion of humanity and compassion left in the Imperium of Man. The Astarte, the Inquisition, the Grey Knights, etcetc are cool and all. But the Adepta Sororitas is one of the few factions within the Imperium that actually keep me rooting for it. Without them, I feel like the Imperium would just be a cold, mechanical, testosterone-driven machine that is about as relatable as an ice cube. They weren't mentioned here, but some of the Living Martyrs and events surrounding the Sororitas performing miracles on the battlefields are just as inspiring as your opening narration. Well done.
I already watched /listened to this video atleast 20btimes just for this epic story at the beginning. I just love it and really want a audio book with baldermort voice. Keep up the good work
Well technically it is semi authoritarian if you worship the emperor and work towards the property of mankind how you do it does not matter too much tjere are far more authoritarian regimes about today
@id1 l ok and its still semi authoritarian. There are so many checks and balances authoritarianism can never actually take hold on terra. Youd need all those groups to cone together at once and do away with their individual powers all at once to allow for authoritarianism.
This is a truly epic lore upload. The opening story was incredibly exciting and immersive. The writing, voice acting, sound effects/music and the depth of the lore is truly fantastic. Thank you for bringing so much joy to us WH40k lore fans! I greatly look forward to your future uploads.
Thanks a million, David. I tried the sound effects, so if you say they worked out I will try not to be such a coward and get more in. Playing it safe seems to be a waste of time when the community here is patient and give good feedback. Its liberating knowing I won't be booed off if I make a blunder. Glad it is working out and hope to continually raise the standard until we are all happy. Many thanks for your generosity and your time, brother. :)
@@Baldermort It is we fans who should be thanking you!!! I can understand your fear of causing disappointment in your fans, but please put those unnecessary fears to rest. Thank you for this amazing and open-handed complement. I will try to reduce my nerves. But can we drop the F word? We're all fans of warhammer. I'm just a mouthpiece for this awesome lore. So, brothers, not Fans. Or it will ruin me, which will ruin the channel and community and content. Always always just brothers of fellow fans of warhammer. It is very welcome and why I keep going when things are tough. Thank you. :)
love how you give a story before the analysis and breakdown of the factions to really give a taste of what running into these beings would be like if you were an average guardsman, etc. its my favorite part of your videos aside from your commanding narration. consistent spine tingles to be had every chapter it seems.
Superb as always, sirrah. I'm a recent convert to the Imperial Truth, having spent many years dismissing the Orders Militant as 'Nuns with Guns'. Now, they're easily my favourite faction.
I heard the intro as I was playing Warhammer Inquisitor: Martyr, as an Inquisitor, and I felt the power given by the sisters of battle, it was glorious.
I have listened to this a few times over the past couple of days, and i have to say how much i wish i could be there. Risking one's life for their beliefs, Shoulder to shoulder with brother in arms. Watching as hulking woman in power armor sing melodies while slitting the throats of the unholy corruption. What a sight it would be... Sigh.... Imagining such a scene is truly satisfying. I'm just sad that i have spent 28 years on this earth never knowing the Majesty, and brilliant writing of people Like you. How sad it is that i didn't come a crossed the Warhammer 40k universe earlier in life. Well i am without a fan. I have decided to make it my mission to read each, and every one of the books before i die. For the Emperor!
Idk if it's just me, but when put in proper context, the Sororitas are far and away the most interesting faction in 40k. Thanks to their poor portrayal in a lot of 40k media, I never really gave them a closer look until recently.
Watched this video a week ago. Here I am now reading everything I could find about W40K (Especially the sisters). Thanks to your immersive storytelling and your dead on voice.

@@Baldermort I actually DO come Just for the Lore since I don't play the game. I juste love the setting. Thanks for what you do!
Well done, Remembrancer.

And I've seen artillery fire for effect danger close.
Thank you for listening, brother Smith.

source please?
@@Rafeelia sauce is the emperor's c**

That is fun to hear. Not sadism, but that someone has the courage to express themselves is wonderful. Its just light entertainment.

Thank you, brother MTG. I don't think OC and I do the same thing. I am a dramatic 'easy in' starter channel. Oc and others do the hardcore lore.
Sorry.

This is probably the best sister related lore I’ve ever heard
This is the video that got me into 40k. It's so visceral, so real, and at the end, so inspiring. Baldermort can tell a story that really pulls you into the world

That honor belongs… to the Tau.”
The look on his face was genuinely priceless 🤣.
Xeno collaborator
Absolutely terrific video as always.

every bad ass who has a bad ass sister, knows that for every space marine, there is a sister of battle. looking out for one another. unshakable faith, and fury.
I wish i had the computer skills to increase the quality in visuals and sound effects, but am slowly trudging uphill to get that done. Its slow, but I hope it is paying off. :)
Thanks for listening, brother Braow. :)
@@Baldermort I've continued listening and I'll say that you shouldn't worry about the visuals right now. Yours are just fine. Just keep focusing on clean edits where needed.

Well done.
As everyone else has said, your introduction was incredible. You have talent sir.

"Semi-Authoritarian"
Brother, what in Hella's name would a fully authoritarian regime look in your mind? Do I want to know?
Well technically it is semi authoritarian if you worship the emperor and work towards the property of mankind how you do it does not matter too much tjere are far more authoritarian regimes about today
you dont generally die from getting someone the wrong flavor of coffee in the imperium.
@id1 l ok and its still semi authoritarian. There are so many checks and balances authoritarianism can never actually take hold on terra.
Youd need all those groups to cone together at once and do away with their individual powers all at once to allow for authoritarianism.
It would involve the emperor personally smiting all who ought to be smote.
Yea the imperium exists in a limbo between feudal and authoritarian. Generally authoritarian on a planetary scale, but feudal on a Galactic scale.
That was the single greatest opening eleven minutes of any UA-cam video.
Ever.
You have a gift, friend.
Got a tear in my eye from that intro. Truly magnificent. Such a vocal talent 🌷
Thank you for listening brother Szminsky. :)
I don't think I'd say 'most' interesting but definitely one of the better ones.
