You could try and see how good your results are, you might be happy with it, or you could ask a professional artist to paint you the Mona Lisa, if they are good then you will not be able to spot the difference between theirs and the original Mona Lisa. Now if that artist has to try and make your painting look closer to the Mona Lisa, than it will take them more times to go over your mistakes and sometimes they will have to start over on a fresh canvas from the beginning. I'm stoked that you guys are going as complete as you can on these cars and incorporating video content to accomplish both wins at the same time. It would be awesome to be able to see a collection of the cars that you guys have transformed and also see how restored and far they can come from what they started as. Really great to see these useful topics, it doesn't matter if it could be common knowledge to the hardcore out there, you guys have a great teaching and presenting style so its always useful information even if it might not be new information. Thanks!

Once upon a time, a deer slid into the side of my car and placed a giant dent on the door. I put some soap and water on the dent and pulled it out with a plunger. It wasn't perfect but it was one of my crowning achievements.

As a paintless dent repairer myself I found this video highly accurate and entertaining. Additionally much like the PDR Guy said, I get called often by people who have attempted a repair themselves and have damaged the dent beyond a perfect repair by stretching the panel, especially with glue.

I love this series! Anything with Zack is always my jam. Something I think that would make this series even better would be asking the pros how to start and get I to doing what they do. I would definitely pay a pro to fix my fender but I also would love to learn how to do some bodywork like this, only issue is I have no idea where to start

    • @RoguePC4U

As a pro myself, this is a tough question to answer. PDR Training (where we all start) is expensive and meant for anyone wanting to do this for a living. If you only want to do this part time, as a hobby, or just for your own repairs - it would be overkill on the budget. And PDR is difficult to learn. You need to spend years just to get "decent" at it.

I used to be a detailer at a pretty big dealership here in Omaha. The dealership's contracted PDR company would sometimes use one of our bays if we had room and the body shop nextdoor didn't.
Watching those guys work was like watching a master sculptor creating his next masterpiece. The sheer focus and concentration in their faces was something I'd never seen. They'd bring in a hail damaged car that looked like the surface of a golf ball, and make it look like it was brand new. Of course, they'd wash those cars themselves after they were done. We shidiot apes weren't going to be the ones to ruin the hours of painstaking effort they'd just put in.
PDR is truly an art form, and it takes a lot of time and patience to be good at it. These dudes performed miracles.

Having said that, for a first car/junk project, anyone should take some time to learn some of this. Best part is that while you develop a little “bond” with the vehicle, you learn some things that probably will be beneficial down the line when you have your next vehicles. None of this DIY stuff should be overlooked as it can be great for learning new things that might save you in a pinch and doing some TLC on an vehicle will up it’s value not only for you but also for the next owner if you sell, and yes, it might be bittersweet if it’s final days are as nails, at least you learned some tricks for the next car👍🏼

The amount of professionals I’ve seen say ‘that’s dangerous’.. I’m a builder and I always support people doing work theirself, like building a wall, it might not be right but it’s good to see someone trying.. diy is mostly the right decision, just do it yourself and learn, then you have the skills for the future
