@@SkiiDreamr420 I thought UP on the rooftop was a James Taylor song? Am I mistaken? I think she's an absolute warrior to go through and get through those hard times! She's an Amazing Woman and I Adore a lot of her songs! She's Amazing! ❤️🥰❣️💕
As a millennial I was introduced to her music by my father. I also became a fan of James Taylor as well at that time. I had no idea of her various abusive relationships until years later. To this day I’m thankful to my father for introducing me to Carol King’s music and songwriting. Her difficult tribulations that she managed to get through actually inspired me and provided hope during my own set of adversity dealing with mental illness and family distress. Carol King’s catalogue of music runs the gamete from fun and pure love to the lows of depression and desperation. What a brilliant soul.
Awe!!! Man I ADORE Carole. I’ve sang So Far & Away, YOUVE Got A Friend, Sometimes I Wonder. YES,,, All the time!!! My brother could play guitar & him & me & my other brother loved you too & we’d just do us a Carole King Concert!!! OMG!!! Tapestry,,, Oh Lord I guess I could sit here & name Carole King Songs & Influence til my finger came off & then I’d have to call on a friend to write for me. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE ME SOME SWEET BABY JAMES TOO. I am just a wee bit younger than Carole & had gotten my Mom listening to her too & she about flipped out when we found out Carole’s age. She just what how adult & smart she was as well as Talented ,,, BUT,,, What very hard working person she had to be to learn & be what she was!!! Moma was ALWAYS RIGHT!!! I feel SO SO Bad for her. I hadn’t a clue the loss & devastation this Even Little 10:02Girl Endured!!! Not to mention her adult life. Sometimes that happens when we have to grow too fast. With losing my dad when I was nine & watching my Big Brother be literally chained & drug off & shipped to Veit Nam, my world pretty much came crashing down. So I begged mom to let me marry the first ole boy that came along when I was 15. I spent a lot of time listening to & singin Carole King. Taylor too. I often say we grew up with the GREATEST MUSIC OF ALL TIME!!! And I owe that to people like this Little Lady & SO many that she blew the doors open for. There’s been Great Music For Me To Hear My Entire Life. All 66 yrs. Of a pretty damn good life myself. My last husband was AWESOME!!! I was fortunate to have him with me from the time I was 18 until I was 55 when cancer took him away!!! I used to write poetry about things but I can’t even begin to write a poem for him. Guess That one did. me in. If my mom was alive she’d come in the door , hand me the broom & tell me to get my ass to work. We’d All Laugh!!! Y’all would too because she was just a firecracker. And the older I get, the more people tell me I’m like her I’m finally proud of myself & Like myself. God Bless You “My Idol.” Love You Always ,,, And “THANK YOU!!!” YOURE BEAUTIFUL AS YOU FEEL!!!
Absolutely love her and her music, always have since Tapestry, it just speaks to me musically and emotionally. Only saw her live once on the "Simple Things" tour, summer of 1977. As this video suggests, her life had many tragic twists and turns. She seems to have been the type of woman that needed a man in her life....she couldn't live with them, and she couldn't live without them. We never hear much about her fourth marriage, I hope she found love and stability, she is a beautiful, wonderful soul that deserves it.
So sad. Back in the day mothers were cast out for giving birth to a non-perfect baby. A person my mother knew had a friend who said she dropped her baby. She could not admit she gave birth to a non-perfect baby.
I started piano when I was 20 years old and she's with my favorite so far away and judge Jasmine and. And Jasmine Jasmine Google. The Jasmine the Jazz man.
