And so very true to Jane Austen's book. All the other versions just don't capture Jane's wit and satirical turn of phrase. In the recent movie, they had the Bennetts living in a pig sty! This is just a beautiful adaptation.
That lake scene, this was when Elizabeth saw Darcy without his mask & armour. His vulnerability is all there for all to see. Both were shaken as to render then so awkward. 😊
The discussion of the wet shirt and Darcy being soaking wet caught my attention. When Andrew Davis says "women responded to it in a VERY SPECIAL WAY", it's almost as if he is alluding to an obvious punchline which he wants to you comprehend, but which he can't possibly speak on camera. LOL.
Cam H How often do you dive into lakes with your clothe on ? I would have thought in the nude was more natural as in “Room with a view”. !!! On his own estate most natural thing in the world. LOL
I love the symbolism of water in this version-the archetypal purification and sexuality undertones. Thing how often we see water, especially Darcy scenes.
He is a creep. When he made the comment in a previous video how Darcy gets an "erection" when he sees Elizabeth after she walked on foot to see her sick sister at Mr Bingley’s, that disgusted me. There were so many better ways to express Darcy’s feelings at that time.
It's been made since, but no one will beat this version.
Excellent screenplay, excellent casting, excellent acting , excellent editing. Just the best version ever!
The best adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. I remember closing the store and saying I have to hurry home to see this drama.

I have just about worn out my dvd watching Pride and Prejudice and just listening to you has given me an overwhelming urge to put it on again.

The production would not have this much excitement without Colin Firth!
That lake scene deserves all the attention it got! Brilliant idea by Andrew Davies.
I love Pride and Prejudice! It is my favorite Jane Austen book 📖!
Darcymania lol, that about sums it up!
Very intelligently written

This guy just wanted to show Darcy all wet with his clothes sticking to him.
Who wouldn't want to see Colin likke that??
Good grief, he just wanted the man to do what a normal human being would. And get himself in an awkward situation like we all have done.

Well dr Darcy didn’t know Elizabeth was there lol and we thank you for that glorious moment lol
All of these people want to believe and think they know that Darcy was dripping wet which he clearly was not. They're just giddy of it.

This guy is such a creep. I want him to know that the lake scene disappointed me because Jane Austen didn’t write it. I did not swoon.
