even when she's frustrated, she just let's it out as she goes & carries on while she figures things out. she's so clever & charming, i'm happy she's here :^)
Babish Challenge: Serve it on fire. Sohla Challenges: Serve it on fire, make 2 dishes, only use ingredients from the sponsor's box of goodies. The only person who can stump Sohla, is Sohla.
I just can't tell you how happy every new episode of Stump Sohla makes me, Andrew! She was always my favorite on BA whenever she'd pop up, and now it's like getting a birthday present every time a new episode comes out. It feels so exciting and special even though it's literally a series on the channel now. I guess I just love Sohla and what she does that much. haha It does hurt my heart a little, though, to hear her put down her own ideas so much, because she is legit a genius with food and not every experiment is going to work, but that doesn't mean she's not still 10000% a genius. I think I might have forgotten to thank you, too, Andrew, for asking Sohla to join the channel - best idea you've had in a minute and I can't think of another chef-y type that deserves more attention and our support right now than Sohla does. So thanks, Babby!

Sohla: "I feel like adding more clam juice! No, that's crazy, I'll add water"
Also Sohla: *adds more clam juice anyways*
blv NO
Also Sohla: this is so briny
Lessons to take from Sohla: set yourself high expectations. When unachievable, pivot with a clap. I adore Sohla, especially now that we can see the unrestricted genius she is.
I love how she's gung ho with her experiments and isn't discouraged when something doesn't work.
It’s a sharp contrast against how Claire gets moody
Solah in a nutshell
Yeah, I really learned how to screw things up 4 times.
Can we get back to real cooking? If i wanted this I'd watch You Suck At Cooking.
even when she's frustrated, she just let's it out as she goes & carries on while she figures things out. she's so clever & charming, i'm happy she's here :^)

"it's a little spicy. is there... somethin--"
"pepper."
"pepper."
He's white. Very VERY white. And I love him.
Babish Challenge: Serve it on fire.
Sohla Challenges: Serve it on fire, make 2 dishes, only use ingredients from the sponsor's box of goodies.
The only person who can stump Sohla, is Sohla.
"Sometimes I'm too silly" was the cutest.
Agreed

"I wanna add more clam juice"
"No, that's crazy"
*continues to add clam juice after declaring the idea crazy
If this ain't the most Sohla sentence ever hahahaha she is honestly a blessing
“A little spicy” said Andrew, eating a cracker with plantain while not knowing if he is still allergic to bananas
I was wondering the same thing, hope he's alright.
But plantain and bananas are different, no?
Hanna Mx - Not really. Bananas are just sweeter and plantains are starchier.
He prolly has an epi on standby
@@GuyNamedSean 🙁 but they come from different plants, at least from where I come from, bananas are from "bananos" while plantain are from "platanas"; and there are different kind of plantains.
I honestly love how we get to see all the tests and "mistakes" that all just teach us what does and doesn't work. It's something I'd love to see more of in other fields
sohla's creativity is defintely her best and worst feature cause she just challenges herself until she cant anymore
I love how she gave herself a challenge within the challenge.
“It’s a lil spicy...”
“Pepper”
* Realises he’s super white *
😂
Pepper is actually a spice tho..
Maxime Lepage so is paprika haha. Legend has it that the level of heat added by pepper is something only detectable by Caucasians
if you put a tiring amount of pepper into your chicken broth then it's noticeable
So pepper like black pepper or white pepper has pepperin while peppers like jalapeños, habanero or ghost pepper have capsaicin. I love peppers, capsaicin, but I can't stand pepperin, I can only really use pink pepper.
So if there's a lot of pepper in something I'll find it too spicy but I need to add some good hot sauce to most 'spicy" stuff
@@palmerspelham9662 irrelevant. If you taste at all pepper, it is "spicy". Because you can taste a spice.
Why am I obsessed with the clapping part after they said "choose a free gift"??????
Sohla, picking out anchovies: oh there's a BIG BOI!
Brad, in a garage somewhere in Jersey: ಠ_ಠ
Reminder that Brad is responsible for covering up for his boss.
He was in too high of a position to not be implicated. Sohla being among the most outspoken in the wake of the controversy I'm sure her and Brad didn't part on the greatest terms.
Andrew Brad never appreciated sohla and did a terrible job of looking out for his coworkers
@@gewurzgurke4964 may I ask what happened cause I've got no clue
@@casualsunbro5309 dude I'm as lost as you are
Casul_sunbro I don’t know how to explain it look up the fall of bon appite on UA-cam there’s a really good video on it
The Stump-Sohla Wheel needs a Prepper section, where she has to only use ingredients available in a Prepper’s bunker
blv that channel is just a generic drama leech. I was hoping it would be prepper cookin
@@Mattquaza lol same
blv nO
if she can make something good out of those prepper doom buckets of shit that crazy pastor sells, she can do anything
Special guest Steve1989 when?
Sohla is attempting to stump herself because Andrew can’t seem to do it
Hahaha
This woman is unstumpable
whos Andrew (jk ik its the show host but for the longest time I thought it was babish ngl)
@blv Stop spamming.
@@kane2742 just report him
Sohla's expertise is so incredible and admirable.
The moments when she's like "I have no idea is this will work" is relatable af.
Sohla is amazing!
The alcohol precipitates the proteins rather than solubilize them. That’s why you can’t aerate it into a merengue.

@@eveninggromit2436 food science!!!
Your words are magical little magic man
Wow, something that actually kind of stumped Sohla
Took the words right out of my mouth hahah haha 😅🥴
Sohla: does gastronomic wonders
Me: mesmerized by that double spoon soup eating technique
I was boggling at it too! Who needs a hundred tasting spoons?!
@@bsidethebox It's actually less dishes than using one spoon for each taste! You dip the big spoon in the soup, then drop it on the little one that goes in your mouth. Two spoons, but your spit never goes back in the dish you're making.
@@rivran lol yes that's what I was trying to say (poorly). My pockets will be so much lighter!
Yeah for real that's life changing
I am so ashamed that this has never occurred to me
This show is preparing Sohla to become an Iron Chef. I bet she could take down Bobby Flay.
I'd bet my life on that
EASILY
Flay is definitely a very talented chef who has lots of experience working in that kind of cooking show format. All the same, I think Sohla would wipe the floor with him.
What about cutthroat kitchen
Not even Bobby Flay can stump Sohla.
appreciate this woman. she is a food goddess.
So you can say this is a pan of... Fire and ice?
*todoroki sweats profusely *
Maybe, but they are playing with their food!
No because this had a satisfying finale.
God dammit
Chef is everywhere
She’s like a disgruntled band teacher whenever something goes wrong
this is the aptest comparison on the planet oh my god
The energy and wardrobe of an upbeat first year kindergarten teacher and the tattoos of a grizzled navy veteran.
Why is it so true here lol
I am a band teacher and I can definitely see the resemblance.
More orchestra than Band. Band directors are psychos.
I love how undeterred she is when things don’t go right immediately
We need many people like her in public space to shine through tough times.
Things go sideways.
Let's try again.
Doesn't work.
Let's try another way...
She does a lot of recipe testing professionally so shes used to it
She's got over a decade of professional cooking experience. she's almsot certainly had to save something that was going even worse before.
Is it me or does “mushroom shots” sounds like something straight outta “It’s always sunny in philadelphia”
Like something Frank would eat or make OR BOTH
Rum ham with a side of mushroom shots
I love seeing Sohla getting her own spotlight like she deserves on this show. I'm sure I'm very late to this sentiment but Andrew really using his platform for good, I love watching these videos of her
Whispering “anchovies oil” three times into a mirror causes Sohla to appear behind you
I heard its tempered chocolate
Whisper it over a bottle of Maker's
Followed by Carol Baskin’s dead husband .
I wish
This series should really be renamed Sohla stmps herself at this point.
Babish: the challenge is to make a healthy meal and light it on fire
Sohla: I'm just going to use this box of mystery ingredients that in no way combine to make a meal
"It's not healthy but you know...portion control."
Yup, this is basically my life motto.
Sohla's personality is a perfect mixture of someone who is both deeply inspired and yet, wouldn't know how to take themselves too seriously if they were forced to. U rock sohla.
