Whistling Diesel is that you?
How to Honda I was thinking the same thing
Seriously!!
Nah WD is a bigger moron
Its his brother lol
I was thinking the same, he should just change his name to smokin two stroke
Quarantine life is getting to everyone it seems
I’m glad I live in the country imagine being in a patients in cities
Aka the broke life im suprised i still have $ to be on the internet
While watching I kept asking myself why the heck my outboard fails all the time. Maybe I need to set it on fire.
🤣
prolly justa carb clean
what did that yamaha do to you guys
Being a reliable and long lasting motor, smh who wants that? We all want the crappy junk mercs right?
Seth H How many racing records are held by Mercury outboards? Quite a few, and Honda and Yamaha can’t come close. Sure, racing engines don’t last nearly as long. My 2.5l 280hp needs more maintenance than most, but every pass it gets hit with a 300hp shot of nitrous. Now, I do have a 1960’s Merc 60hp that is on my small fishing boat and it has over 7,000 hours, still running strong. Never changed anything but water pumps, spark plugs and once a trim relay. My grandfather used it every day for more than 20 years, then my dad used it for another decade before I got it. I don’t have a problem with any brand of outboard, because I’ve had good luck with all of them. Even Chrysler/Force. Although, I will admit that the Evinrude/Johnson 60-75hp 3 cylinder engines are my favorite for smaller boats.
Adam R yeah but Yamaha isint in the racing industry they are more about reliability, but gee 7000 hours??, wow incredible, we have 4000 hours on our Yamaha, no problems yet! Just like you said spark, impeller, and we do the lower unit oil change every year
Seth H You were the one calling Mercury outboards crap. I’m just pointing out facts that prove otherwise. I’ve seen plenty Honda’s and Yamahas that didn’t make it too 100 hours before having major problems. Everyone turns out a few lemons. Also, some people try to use racing engines on their fishing boats, abusing the engine leading to a short life. Every time you see a big center console boat with 2 to 6 R series outboards on the back, you are looking at a boat where the owner wanted to show off his money, rather than picking an engine that was made for the job. Most of the “bad” engines I’ve seen were abused in such a manner. Weather it be people trying to troll with a racing engine (what kills most big racing Mercs) or trying to treat a lower rpm work engine like a high rpm racing engine (what seems to kill most of the Yami’s and Honda’s) it mainly comes down to people picking the wrong engine for the application.
Adam R yeah, but mercury warranty is 2-3 years, Yamaha 3-6 year warranty, to me that says enough about reliability. racing I’ll gladly give that to mercury, but for me and my little Jon boat I don’t need racing engines and high maintenance motors, just a reliable motor, with my 6 year warranty, but like you said there are cases were mercury would be the better engine, like racing boats
I just watched 19 minutes of Florida man getting the job done
Living in an area with snakes and spiders I was expecting something to jump out at you when you pulled the blanket off the motors.
Painful to watch that Yammy get abused so bad, but it showcases how though it really is!
Every Yamaha can pass the test
Boyzs !
@@king579pro7 not the newer ones
CL: Slightly used, always winterized, ready to go! Just don't have time for it anymore.
Man if that doesn’t show how well built and reliable these Yamaha 2-Strokes are, I don’t know what will. That is incredible.
I absolutely could use a small engine , me and my 6 year son are building up a jon boat for the st.Johns River.
Watch the end of the video
ThatBoatGuy I did and can’t wait for that video
Man that thing is like a timex its takes a licken and keeps on a ticking
I hope you win it.
Jason Z hope you get it
4:42 : the definition of me and the bois
That lower unit looks to be in great shape. I will be sure to warm up my 2 stroke that way
Just started giving my old Yamaha 8B 677 from 1983 some love because i am getting a boat. It has been laying in storage for my entire life that i can remember and fired right up after two pulls, just waiting for some parts to get here.
Never ever thought it would last the tests ! Overheating it 3 times and hydrolocking it my god there unreal engines !!!
Pull the head and lets see those cylinder bores.
Clearly fine by the comp test, shocking
I’m So Glad To See The Guys Doing That To The Motor
You’ve really inspired me watching your channel. Can you come out with a list of your favorite motors? In terms of maybe durability, reliability, and bang for your buck? And one on how to detail a motor? I would love to see that and I’m sure others would as well.
That damn thing sure is tough!! Will be watching for the next video about the Mercury 9.9.
15 with a 9.9 hood hahaha.
At my job over the summer we managed to break 8 different engines in 5 weeks which included a Nissan marine (new), Jhonson (old), Mercury( new-ish), Suzuki (old), Honda(old), Tohatsu (old), another Suzuki(old), and another Tohatsu (brand new).
(None of which were a Yamaha)
how did you manage to do that? run with no oil?
I thought this was a click bait, but I was wrong. U didn't disappoint me 😂
Dang that thing has been to help and back and still kicking Dam strong motor
Dang I wouldn’t do that to my engine, but I’m sure it’ll hold up just fine. Love my Yamaha, have a 50 hp 2 stroke. Yet to have an issue with it.
There was a great scene in the Movie *The Deep* with 2 guys battling each other using an outboard motor amongst other items.
Incomplete test. Needs to be thrown off the Skyway bridge. Then you'd have a test!
FlyMeAirplane no and throw it down the Mariana Trench and let it sit there for 5 years
And back on Facebook Marketplace it goes...
Exactly. Thats why i only buy new nowadays.
“Runs great! Low hours. Only used once.”
I have a 1998 25 2 stroke that has never ever missed a beat. And it hasn’t been serviced religiously either. Absolute tanks.
“Awe it’s so sad what he did to that motor” at least it’s not whistlin diesel destroying a $100k truck lol
Providing the best original content as always👌😂
That motor had enough of life after it stopped running on the beach the first time 😂
That is one tuff ass little motor holy crap
7:22 nice civic you got there.
I have an Yamaha 8hp 2stroke and it refuses to die. Great video
Cant wait! Love that merc 9.9. Would give me a great excuse to head down to florida and visit the family too.
I'm watching this and can't believe it, my p o s 15 gamefisher is down and can only dream about having a Yamaha and here you guys are kicking the living crap out of a working motor ,,this beer virus is having a strong affect on you guys ,
This it the best Yamaha ad ever. The ultimate torture test
You should try running it on straight gas and no premix
Missed the part 1 but that engine is really good😄
That's some ballsy stuff right there man!
I traded a guy for a 1969 Sears row boat with a 1969 Evinrude. I'm trying to get it ready for the Indian River here in Florida, but I'm not sure when it will be.
Nice Video! keep up the good work
Man feel sorry for the motor and hear in Fiji we crying to own a motor but any way great video.
The girl is like”why did I come with these 2 yahoo’s” 😩.
But I love every minute of this torture. Just tell your friends not to smoke during filming, it’s not cool.
No water being pumped through that motor just hurts man!
Your neighbors must love you running motors
My names Gavin I’ve watched your videos for years and it has inspired me to buy my own boat I have one now but I really want a good motor I can’t find a Yamaha anywhere used I really wanna buy a 25 or 30 hp Yamaha off of you I doubt you’ll even see my comment but if you do please consider it I live in a group home boating is my only happiness and freedom
The neighbors must love you guys. Haha!
12:56 she’s prolly like wtf are these dudes on
Now thats a Multi-Tool
I just stopped by to read the inevitable angry comments!
So it normal to destoy a outboard engine?
@@vacuumpowered6119 Yes, totally normal!
Well destroy your engine then if u have one
I know it may not mean much but I just recently started watching your channel, and have really enjoyed it up until these one of the 15 hp Yamaha I really don't understand trying to destroy something that someone that could use that motor, but it is yours
Dang Son !!
Multiple violations of a minor yamaha no gloves, masks, or social distancing.
If that cop would've seen ya maybe earned yourself another 6 tickets 😂😂😂
How does that thing still run wtf an actual alien motor
Definitely NOT Made in Chyna.
Good thing you know how to fix them up!! Great vid It made my day especially that comment about quarantine life getting to everyone lmao!!
I'm gonna go fishing for everyone who's stuck at the house.
Mark Powers, I’ll second that. I’ll also take out my boat in honor of all the stay at home friends.
Appropriate title: Florida men at their best :P
In their prime**
“Yamaha 15hp outboard, low hour gently used. Asking 1200”
I got two words for that engine.
Bullet proof
I couldn't help but wonder, how far up the beach your Jon Boat would have gone if you had the same coating on the bottom as your Air Boat.
I seen your durability test I can’t believe how much compression that motor had after all that
Good on you Eric for giving away an outboard as you dont have to. You have a big heart hope you reach 100k subs mate 👍🇦🇺
Nothing gets more subscribers than someone destroying perfectly good things. I want to see how much it can take.
I just picked up a a well maintained garage kept super clean 2007 9.9 Yama… i aint barbecuing my baby nor rodeo it!
thats one tough little motor
It was Harder to Watch the First time, Now it's just "Wow" Unbelievable!
Can't Wait for Your Next Video!
I Could use That on my 14ft Montgomery Ward Flat Bottom!
I'm watching this thinking that I can't wait for it to be over. Not because the video is bad but I feel sorry for the little thing.
this was an absolute love hate video i hated that you abused the crap outta that motor but the fact that it still runs great is astonishing.. and that merc looks sexy!
I think that is my old 15! I sold it to Eric and I recognize the broken flywheel cover. I'm sure he has lots of them.
spdracr1, she’s done a good job. No, not a good one. A spectacular one.
That’s a generous offer giving up that motor. I have a working boat so I won’t participate, but I hope it ends up making some deserving person very happy.
I'd love to see one of these motors with a snorkel underwater test 😆
Bro don’t do that to that engine and boat, I’ll happily take it off your hands and actually use it instead of just abusing it like u do
You say that like boats are rare
okc 306 no I’m saying that like there’s a lot of people who are less fortunate that can’t afford something like that, I’ve seen a lot of people just abuse stuff like that for videos and views and just destroy it and throw it out. I just think it’s dumb.
@@supersparks4742 if someone is less fortunate do they really need a boat and shitty little 15hp..
Lol dude its his stuff to do what ever he wants with it
Go check out whistlindiesel if you hate this you'll really freak out at his channel
Oak306 u dont know how to respect things
I think this engine was not suppose to be treated that way. But happy to know it still working 👍
Regret selling mine 2002 15hp, needed to pay for dads funeral. Always on lookout for another but dang everyone wants an arm and half leg for em.
I ran a Yamaha 2 stroke 60 through Harvey and Imelda, beating them against fire hydrants and submerged cars. Never failed me even when it got shallow and it started getting hot. Great motors, Imelda did her in but when I have the funds I’ll get her rebuilt and be ready for the next storm.
she deserves it after all Shes done for you and your community
Pretty durable! Edit: next time do a large motor maybe a 120 or something.
Why would you do that if you could sell it (at least on the local facebook page)
unbreakable motor Yamaha is the best
Wistlin diesel be like this man is my buddy😂😂
Totally down for a new engine!!! Awesome video man.
Please don't hurt that little outboard any more. It was like Stockholm Syndrome, it just wanted to please you.
The poor motor
Where is the outher video that you can win a engine.
I realy need one for my small rib.
Such a roller coaster of emotions!!!! I can sum them all up with just one word though: "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
I almost cried😭
If you’re wondering if he has a dog, I’m pretty sure it’s hiding like its life depends on it !
I’m sold I’m a OMC 2 stroke guy, I will be looking for One now
and here i am looking at yamaha outboards prices with tears in my eyes trying to figure out how to afford one while those guys wreck perfectly good one :(
This is like the whistlin diesel but of boat motors
This Video is pure pain if you would kill for a motor like this haha. Already looking forward for the Mercury giveaway =) keep going on i really love your content
Got a yamahammer 225 precision blend.. love it
So Yamaha is one of the toughest outboards clearly I keep seeing videos I’m not mad at all first time boaters want to feel secure and you did that and some lol
Dude... That's great UA-cam content LOL Love it. I wish I had you up here in Maine to help me troubleshoot my Mercury 90 on our family boat. Want to get the kids out tubing!! Nothing else to do with all this Covid junk.
How much you want for one of those 8 outboard motors
Do a teardown to show if there is internal damage!
I would love to see the damage too. Would make for a great video
OMG!! I couldn't watch the whole video. I have an 86 15hp like that one. I just bought it and I am strangely reassured by the torture test. Thanks for your videos, they have been much helpful! ..... and entertaining
My water discharge (tell tale) does not work. I have water output to the brass nipple that connects to the tell tale where I believe the exhaust and coolant exit the back of the casting. I have run wires and weed eater cord down the nipple but it seems to bottom out about an inch below the floor. am I probing the right hole? I have never seen one of these engines running.
Keep the info (and the antics) coming.
It really sucks to see anyone destroy anything that someone else could make good use of. 😏
Is that Mose Shrute helping you? 😂
This video is why I bought a Yamaha
Hello
my lights come on, but nothing else. New battery or fully charge battery.
It’s electric, because the motor won’t go up and down or turn over. It’s a 50 hp Yamaha. Any ideas?
