You don’t have it
@@fatnsteamy9894😂
Two shots actually)
First "BANG", and second: "PEW"
A thing you can do with the Ripper that I don't see people do is that you can use the secondary fire while in its primary fire so for maximum efficiency, you can shoot the same sawblade right when the saw effect is about to expire and only use up 1 ammo.
I remember Barb(Barbarousking) doing that for the brief time he used it.
Is that so? In the original game and DS2 it would still consume a ripper blade, is that not the case in the remake?
@@Vorox1027 it doesn’t consume a blade anymore
Sweet tip dude.
how much saws consume the secondary?
I'm a little sad that upgrading the flamethrower doesn't give you blue flames like the original, but having the force gun blow off the necromorphs skin/muscles is pretty badass.
i personally hated the blue flame, always prefered red
Right? Blue flames were symuch a treat but oh well, who knows. Maybe they will bring it back.
And peeling skin off, i literally did Pog face with my friend when we found out during playing. It's such a cool detail 😂
I'll say fus ro da when i get the force gun
@@Patrious_WoW in real life blue flame burn MUCH hotter than red, it's appropriate
@@angusdelaney905 im well aware of that, i just like red over blue
Fun fact about the Upgrade Parts: when you unlock the upgrade by putting power on an SP node, the appropriate part on the weapon changes appearance. For example, the magazine upgrade on the Plasma Cutter becomes black when you activate it. Thus a fully upgraded weapon tends to look a bit different from the base weapon without upgrades.
The Plasma Cutter also becomes white when you get the level 6 armor upgrade. I love the attention to detail.
@@SkeletonModel91 Agree, the attention to detail in this game is insane and so delicious. Just watching Clarke at a buy station as you change the active selection his head moves like he's watching the selections as you move it, love it.
Just say that without saying "fun fact"
The Force Gun is my favorite from a nostalgia standpoint, a functional standpoint, and an animation standpoint. I've always loved the force gun, now they made it way stronger with a damn gravity well for crowd control, but they also made it strip the necromorph of all their flesh and makes them look even creepier. Love this game and the build up for Dead Space 2
Finally the video I’ve been looking for! All weapons speacial upgrades and what they actually do! No one else has showed or done this.
Absolutely awesome video Backseat, thanks for making and posting it. Everyone else puts up their opinions, but you're letting us see everything and highlight what the upgrades do for each weapon - OP video. Awesome!
Thanks for the nice words :)
dayum the force gun literally left the necro as bones and nothing more
1:27 the poor 100 Credits never stood a chance!
When shooting line gun traps I tend to put them on the ceiling so the limbs won’t block the beams and the exploders don’t blow them up
Nice tip Sun, thanks.
1:28
Necromorph: "Here's you Credits, good Sir"
Isaac: "YEET!"
I was really happy that most of the guns in this game were very good. Pulse is the only one I didn't like, since it's hard to take off limbs with it. The grenade function is great tho. Ripper got the best rework imo, the ricochet blades literally homing in on enemies made it a blast. Force gun stripping the flesh off enemies is great. Flamethrower was real ammo efficient, it made my impossible play through pretty easy. Plasma cutter and Contact beam were both also stand out options, and the line gun was obviously a carry.
Contact beam is my favourite weapon, plasma cutter is second place for me. I mean the contact beam is a literal asteroid miner of course its going to be powerful, and I find it satisfying to use. Unfortunately much like the rocket launcher in doom eternal, ammo for it is hard to find/get
eh nope , by far easier to get than in the original, it is no longer the most expensive ammo , that position is now for the force gun ( its almost twice as expensive than contact bean ammo ) , and no more drops in 1 amounts , drops in 3-5
now the most expensive gun is the force gun , cost 800 credits to shot 1 time that weapon now
Contact beam ammo was very easy to get.
if u only equip contact beam, u'll only get that ammo
Dead space 2 contact beam was more powerful
@@shayyansheraz8663 makes sense
The line gun is the magnum version of the plasma cutter
👏👏 Wow. That was totally impressive about all weapons showcase with fully upgraded and Max. Stats Impressive!
Laser mine and firewall seem a very very useful tool to have. Would enjoy using it if I ever play this game.
Thanks😊

Back when I first played the original, I remember thinking that the pulse rifle’s alt fire was one of the weirdest weapon uses I had seen in a game. 😂
contact beam was reveses, laser is the primary shot and secondary single shot is the og version
the flame thrower secondary shot is also new, it was blue flame from both DS1 2
I I I am 🎉🎉 p
If I remember correctly, the secondary fire of the flamethrower would shoot the whole damn canister out.
Appreciate that the contact beam now actually has a beam fire now
Whoa and I said I was not going to buy but seeing that line gun alternate fire change my mind
I like how all (except the pulse rifle) 'weapons' in Isaac Clarke's arsenal are actually engineering & mining tools. Don't f*** with an engineer, guys.
That’s because he’s an engineer and not a soldier and why this game is cool in the first place
Man the contact beam just went from trash in the og to gold tier in the remake
If the force gun doesn't kill them immediately, it just shoots off the necromorph's skin
which is fucking awesome
It does more then shoot of the skin because its aoe damage the effect you are seeing is the damage layers, theres skin muscle then bone when you hit bone you cut a limb off
Great video, thank you! 👍
I usually use the ripper most of the time, love how it can push enemies back and shooting it helps with the surrounding necromorphs
Good to see that the line gun is still stupud strong
I like how the Plasma Cutter and Pulse Rifles sound like toy weapons now.
Contact Beam's new primary kind of overrides the Flamethrower primary - way more effective.
If I'm not mistaken, the Force Gun was close range only - shot gun sort of.
Ripper primary also lost its iconic sound.
Line Gun is a huge improvement though.
The Line Gun was my favorite in the original. Glad to see they made it even better in this remake.
Using the flamethrower makes me feel like McCready from John Carpenter's The THING.
Plasma cutter, line gun, force gun still my go-to loadout. Although the contact beam and ripper seem really good in the remake
I’m mid way through my first play through of the game on my steam deck OLED and I’m playing the game on normal difficulty non modded. But I’m actually considering replaying it on the hardest difficulty with fully modded stats and weapons because these just look really fun. Once I’ve done a normal non modded play though first of course 😉
Weapons are few but great. Wouldn't change that.
The only one I'm not happy about is the ripper. It originally sounded like a circle saw. Which is basically what it is. A saw on a gravity tether. That brutal way it seemed like using a chainsaw is missing. That was my favorite thing about it
DS2008's Line gun sub attack: Timed plasma mine.
That's much powerful.
cant wait for the ds3 remake
I miss something for the forcegun but I don't know what 😂. At the bench there's just one more uppgradetree left and it's the one to the right.
1:14 - And who am I afraid of here, the mutilated dead or this maniac that beats them up?
I remember shining best with the pulse rifle, plasma cutter, line gun, detonator back in Dead Space 2, and the force gun in both games. Fully upgraded, all five of these weapons help tremendously against the 'morphs. Especially the pulse rifle, line gun, and force gun's secondary fire. Nostalgia!
My favorite thing was using the maxed out contact beams secondary on the ubermorph anytime he got near me, that stasis blast was OP as fuck when you fully upgraded it
@@oroboros88 Yeah, but the only problem with that weapon was the fire rate. The damage was the highest than all others, in the series, but it took time to fire each shot and reload with it from what I remember. Don't get anyone wrong, though, the contact beam was still an OP weapon when used correctly this in game. Lol.
@@TheTechCguy even if you didn't actually use it, it helped you by printing money
Oh wow the weapons changed quite a bit. Additional specials for all of them? And many of them change their tactical use with those special as well. Like the line gun basicaly taking the place of the detonator in area control, even if less potent.
I really enjoy the continous laser fire the took up for the contact beam and the gravity well for the force gun. Makes the 2 of them way more awesome than they were in the original. And even the flamethrower looks like its way way more efficient this time.
Damn... did they have to improve upon every weapon? Now i dont know what to pick xD
Fully upgraded Line gun looks to be by far the strongest gun in the game next to the laser cutter (cause that melee upgrade is so stupid lol), crazy one shots at close range and the laser trap looks like an OP fire wall that just straight up dismembers the necromorphs entirely
I just saw a video of someone using the line gun laser traps on random objects and picking them up with kinesis LOL must be the most broken thing I've ever seen
The pulse rifle seems bad but it’s incredibly efficient at taking out deskinned limbs, use a flamethrower or force gun to weaken the limbs and try the pulse rifle it will surprise you
Would be interesting to see the dynamic of how a multiplayer human vs human shooter mode in this game would turn-out.
I like how you can just let the Ripper blade cut someone or you can shoot it at somebody it's Savage either way
So how many nodes and credits did it took to completely upgrade all stats weapons and suits
Man, pulse rifle's primary fire really sucks. 25 - 35 rounds just to kill one. May as well just use it only for the grenade.
Yeah that was what I was thinking the moment I got the gun. It's a pea shooter on primary but the secondary packs a punch
@@theSkarekro yeah. same amount of damage, but in an aoe too
It was better to use the rifle against the Levitation and High Mind tentacles. In Dead Space 2, the pulse rifle seemed more useful against the fast and weaker enemies like The Pack.
Or if you want more ammo or money use the pulse gun or line gun to make the traps then disable them for their ammo then upgrade the capacity on them and boom full ammo
They combine the line gun and detonator alt fire in DS2 into one new Line gun in DS remake(with laser form alt fire), which is the best improvement that I have ever seen, even better than the old detonator function, awesome.
i only fully upgraded my suit, plasma cutter , pulse rifle and line gun
Fully upgraded and maximize stat was that much fire power you can easily take on impossible more without breaking a sweat
1:02 He just punch that dude like it doesn't have an explosive on it's hand😆
Does the flamethrower work in a vacuum like Dead Space 2?
I know it's a nitpick, however I'm a little annoyed that only the plasma cutter and contact beam appear to actually change from being upgraded. The plasma cutter gets recolored with each special, ultimately become gun metal black and off-white, which does match up pretty well with the grade 6 rig in NG+. The contact beam actually gets whole new parts attached. Wish all the tools changed in appearance as special nodes are activated.
They do. The flamethrower's gas tank becomes yellow and a bit bulkier, you can see some new tiny bits attached to the force gun. Not sure about other weapons.
Weapons well suited for all types of Necros: Cutter, rifle, and contact beam
Weapons for waves of Necros: Flamethrower and force gun
Weapons the best for nothing: Line gun, ripper.
The flamethrower in the original first game was a sack of shit, it took way too long to kill the necromorphs even when it's damage was fully upgraded. I'm so glad to see that it's actually good in this game 'cause I love flamethrowers in games. If necromorphs are alive down to the last cell in the body, then burning them into a scorched pile of skin is an effective means of disposal too.
Which one is your Go-To favorite weapon? Which one would you upgrade first?
Ripper, it effectively trivialises every single and double necromorph encounter. upgrade the damage and duration and virtually all twitchers, lurkers, slashers are done. One saw blade and took out 3 twitchers at same time
@@ashm4938yeah the ripper is king in close encounters with several necromorphs coming at you at the same time
@Diamond Dustin although after defeating Leviathan on impossible at the second phase of a fight with a single line gun shot, it now has a contender lol.
Fire a mine into leviathans mouth and it will explode any projectile in its mouth and kill the middle core, just to to aim the mine so when leviathan closes it's mouth, the mine faces inwards
Man....the lineguns projectile is less pronounced....its more like hitscan now thats a shame...kinda liked the projectile hanging there
I like this game so much specifically the orginal one but don't get me wrong this remake little silly.
To be honest, the only weapons that become better are - Force Gun, Flamethrower, Contact Beam, Line Gun, Ripper. Pulse rifle's ROF is way too slow. and it sounds like a standard machinegun instead of a PULSE rifle. Plasma cutter's sound is pitchy and it's more annoying than pleasurable to hear.
But what Contact Beam does in remake... It's gorgeous and fantastic. It's a real dope disintegrating any necromorph on your way, it feels so good to vaporate them with this monster.
Plasma cutter sounds like the plasma is cutting through the air
And the pulse rifle fires regular ass bullets I don’t know what the fuck else you want it to sound like
Contact Gun op.
The primary fire of the ripper looks and feels underwhelming compared to the original dead space, though. Rest is fantastic, but i really loved the original ripper
Somehow Pulse rifle has serious bugs, if you shoot fully automatic, it'll consume more ammo.
Shoot semi auto with trigger finger it'll give you more ammo efficiency
Are enemies easier to dismember when on fire? I’m playing on hard and I swear it is
IIRC it does expose their bones which makes them easier to dismember
I haven’t unequipped the flamethrower for this reason, feels like it weakens them quite a bit
It removes their skin so yes
Some guy with medical expertise said that fires can constrict the muscle and thus makes it harder for zombies and necromorphs to move after being burned and essentially kills them after a while
I think it was some zombie video comment
Plasma cutter has heat accumulater module upgrade. Must have for someone playing on hard lol
where do you get the line gun?
Just a Random ad show up and it was OverWatch 1.5. And just showed new skins. That's all.
1:28 Credits gets flung
1:19 rayman screaming?
There shoulda been puzzles that each weapon is required for, thus bettering the users skills with them, thus allowing more difficult and dynamic enemy situations in combat. Since if you have flamer, linegun, forcer, contact beam, every encounter is easy, if set up the stage you can handle far far mire enemies.
Hey does resetting nodes cost you money?
$5k I believe, to reset all the nodes on a weapon back down to nothing.
@@Sasparillafizz does the cost increase as you reset again? The orig DS i think was like that.
Can you get killed by a Ripper ricochet?
Yes. That is one of the reasons I play with the ripper less in this game. Primary fire is great and the secondary ricochet is also very handy until it comes back at you.
Leaf blower + shotgun = force gun 🤷♂️
The achievement is bugged for me
Does the flamethrower when fully upgraded work in space? I know that in the original ds1 it didn't while in ds 2 it did
Seconding this
It does not work in zero g due to no oxygen
@@onepunchman4444 thanks. I wonder If they remake ds2 will the flamethrower work in space
@@lites73 it probably won't because it wouldn't make sense to work in one but not the other. I remember in the old one that when damage was fully upgraded it would shoot blue flames instead of yellow. I wish they did that in this one
@@onepunchman4444 yeah. I just played ds2 last night and the flamethrower is still one of my favorite weapons
Damn it's a shame to find how watered down the pulse rifle is in the remake, even with max upgrades. Its nowhere near as potent as it was in the second or original
This is so much better than playing a bad version of Punch-Out.
i am disappointed there's no Divet pistol, it's a pistol of secu guards , it can shoot in three burst and it was only usable in DS Extraction, why the hell?
Why bother having a pistol when Plasma Cutter and Pulse Rifle does the job?
Wait was the divet pistol in the og dead space 1? I cant remember bruh 😭
@@_Mikeebeed_ Nope, only Extraction
*Sigh* Yay, "new" old weapons, but where is my favorite blue fire effect on max-stat flamethrower? where is pulse rifle with 360 alt shooting over a head? Why Line gun alt now is literally a detonator? were is my lovely gravity mine? Why contact beam not a supercollider but just a laser? where in my favorite alt - ground-based discharge to knockout?
Then go play original. FFS. If devs wouldn't change anything gamewise why the hell even make a remake in the first place?
The pulse rifle still sucks ass after all these years
It’s great for sniping boss weak points. A fully upgraded rifle can down the leviathan and the hive mind in a couple of minutes (on medium).
It’s just not as satisfying to use on standard necromorphs since many of them can walk through its fire and it takes more time and precision to knock off a limb compared to the original Dead Space.
At least it makes the fall of the Valor make more sense-most of the marines would be carrying cheap, non-upgraded versions of the rifle.
After TLOU2, all these robotic combat systems seem outdated.
Pulse rifle is a totally trash
even sucks than original dead space
force gun is crazy
