The only thing to look for is the SVT badge on the trunk, the cobra badges on the sides, and the steering wheel that says "Cobra". And a 4.6 4V engine.
My 95 gt with 67,000 miles has an auto trans in it. The trans shit the bed when I was merging on to the highway. Just seemed weird for having low miles
Yea watch for water leaks around the chain cover water pump port. Beware if it is and has been you can bet the bolt above and below the port are gonna break off. Mine did... went from changing the water pump n thermostat to changing the timing chain cover gasket and the timing chain while I was in there.
My sn95 (jade) was very well taken care of fresh teal paint brand new convertable top, FR 500 wheels bbk h pipe bbk cold air , interior is a 6 out of 10 and that's where I'm focusing now, I came across this right after doing the work awesome video
Excellent video. Came across a 1995 Mustang GT 5.0 5-Speed for sale for $4.5K here in L.A. 1 owner but it almost has 200K miles on it, fully stock everything. From the photos, it looks good interior and body wise. The engine photos look good (a bit dirty but good). Thinking of taking a test drive. What should I expect on the upcoming maintenance on a 200K 28-year old car? Thanks in advance
if it was well maintained and looked after the sn95 platform is pretty reliable. given it's 200k miles i'd check bushing and gaskets and anything rubber that could be shot. it's always a plus to bring an obd2 scanner
Thanks for the video, I own a '94 v8 mustang. Looks new, just put a new convertible top last year. This gave me some good tips on where to inspect for rust and wear. I just had the rear bushings and control arms changed. On curves the rear felt like it wanted to slide off the road. I had an oil leak in the oil pan gasket & rear main seal. Do you have the original engine block? What do you think of Jasper remanufactured engines? Right now , like your wise friend said at 4:13, I need to re-evaluate my life. I can't help myself, I just keep pouring time & money maintaining and upgrading a vehicle that can easily be totaled if I get into an accident with shopping cart. Such is the life of an Sn95 owner!
Pretty much the same thing I said in this video. Because the cobras still have the 302 but I’d definitely look over it really good to make sure the procharger stuff was done correctly
Just got my 94 GT and sadly it sat for a while. Just did Plugs, Wires, Oil Change, Fuel Filter, and will be getting the strut tower/frame rail rust spot done. Ive noticed it has a weird idle. It starts off good, but then starts going down about 500 RPM after about 30 seconds after starting. Im thinking of changing the TPS, EGR, Etc.. Good vid though!
Good video. Two days ago bought an convertible 302 (1994) and I love it. It needs a bit of work but the only thing I am concerned about is a transmission whine on 3rd gear. Life is extra difficult as I live in the UK 🤣🤣
Bought my first Mustang in December. I'm 63 and you'd think I would have gotten a late 60's or early 70's. But I bought a 1995 GTS with aton of build in it. I love it! American made V8 efi (I'm over carbs) 5 speed (T5, needs syncros of course) RWD (3:73) Nuf said ;) I used my used car buying skills of 45 years to weed out the trash. This video is a good start guys. Also, pick your target car and research to crap out of the year and model. UA-cam, online forums, customer reviews at online car review pages and mostly lots of looking at purchase contenders. Don't be afraid to walk away from a sale. You don't want someone else big problems.
Hey man, I'm looking at one of these and the listing says the clutch and rear gear is messed up, but other than that it runs. I don't know if I should go ahead with it because I've never heard of a rear gear breaking but let me know
I’ll be 100 percent honest with you if your looking to go faster I’d either v8 swap it or save up and get a gt car, I’m not throwing off on the v6 cars but there’s not a lot of aftermarket out there for them.
Quick question brother when you had your 18x9 and 18x10 rims what tire size did you actually run and with the 18x10 in the rear did you have any clearance or rubbing issues? Wondering cause I've been looking at changing the rims on my 95 gt stock suspension for now and not sure what tire sizes to run considering I still have 17" with 225 on the car how it was when I bought it. Thanks
My 94 5.0 ho has a nasty shake/rattle from around the Radio and shift boot at high rpm till it shifts. It's a auto with 125k seems to drive ok but I don't know if it's Somthing to worry about
My 98 had a rattle like that. It turns out the exhaust pipe had shifted and was touching the transmission. Lossened the clamp, pushed it over and re-tightened it.
The first thing I focused on when I bought my 98 GT Atlantic Blue Metallic in 2015 for 4K was to lower it. Stock looks like you're driving a 4X4. Hideous. Since I was under the car anyway, I replaced pretty much every bushing and bearing, front and rear wheel bearings, struts and shocks and everything else in the process. Flushed the coolant system and replaced the radiator and water pump, intake manifold, coils, plugs and plug wires. Had the tranny rebuilt, differential bearings replaced and dropped the fuel tank to replace the fuel pump myself. My thinking is, just replace everything you can so it won't leave you stranded on the side of the road. At the time I bought it, it was already 17 years old. Forward to 11/2024 and at 155,000 miles, it's still a daily driver. The paint on the fenders we sun bleached, as it was a California car originally so, I decided to rattle can the top half of the car and thought, while I'm at it, I might as well put some 8 inch, white, racing stripes on it as well. It's all clear coated and ready for wet sanding this Spring. I named her Christine because my wife hates that I spend so much effort on this beauty!

Man I wish i lived by u to check my 302 to see is their anything goin on with it
i see an 02 on offerup for 2200$… manual black. some body damage but i’m scared to further even look at it

My girls name is Lucy
If you have solid bushings that rear end is gonna sound noisy as F tho.
I know but race car is life lol 😂 and what I really meant to say was urethane bushings

Where can u buy those rear control arm bushings

Jasper is great and if you have an issue they Stand behind their products
Is this a more reliable daily driver than a trans am gen4 ?
Depends if its LS or LT
Great video bro. I actually plan on going to look at a 95 procharged Cobra. What should I be on the look out for when it comes to one like that?
Pretty much the same thing I said in this video. Because the cobras still have the 302 but I’d definitely look over it really good to make sure the procharger stuff was done correctly

is it easy if u wanna swap a convertable to a hard top for the sn95???
expensive!!! But they are kinda hard too find !

Bought a 95 cobra off my cousin about 2 weeks ago its a project for sure but she runs.
what would you do with an all stock 96 3.8?

Get the split intake manifold from I think the Windstar minivan.
@@ostrich67 thanks boss man, i'll look into that

I ran a 275/40/18 on the rear but you could go bigger and be fine even lowered! I think 315 is the max on a 10.5 rim.
Alright I'll probably just do 275 for now . And for the front was it a 245/40/18??
And when you say lowered I'd assume something like a decent lowering springs?
@@camworks9448 yea a decent lowering spring and I think I had a 235 40 on the front
Kool deal thanks for sharing man. Keep up the work on the sn95 and seeing where your build goes
Where you located think you can look at mines ?
Bro I had a heater hose blow up and I swear it smells exactly like burn syrup lol
Next video is tunnel ram and dual 650 carbs..right?
