Im Back in london to see what else i can find while magnet fishing, last time i was here i found a mac 10 submachine gun so wonder what i find this time.
So i met up with scott ross and his mate vinnie because they have had some amazing finds and they have more knowledge of the london area and boy did it pay off.
From the usual scrap metal to dumped hard drives, dvla wheel clamp, cctv boxes and even a strange bike with an engine attached but the best thing was finding a safe with its ci=ontents inside.

The orange like little moped ( tiny engine) looks like a Raleigh Whisp or something very similar to it. A very low powered 1960's to very early 1970's possibly. They can fetch a between £200 & £675 (ish) depending on condition & working order. Although that one doesn't look it could be salvaged. But, you never know there are some real clever people about with their contacts to get the parts they need.

I had my second ever magnet fishing afternoon today. Your videos are among those that inspired me to buy a magnet.
And today I hit the jackpot: I found 7 pence! But seriously, I found a spot in a small stream where literally hundreds of batteries had been dumped, and I managed to get a load of them out. About 160 AA and AAA and hundreds of the little round flat ones.
I'm going back there tomorrow, weather allowing, to continue my cleanup mission. 😇

I had no idea that some of our canals are still used for transporting cargo. I'm glad to see that the veins of trade are still working just like back in the 1800s, although a little quieter. Brilliant.

That cheap sells coal and gas etc to the holiday canal boats.
Selling supplies to people living on barges.
As kids we used to "Fish" the cut (canal) on a Sunday with a homemade grapnel (grappling hook) and get mostly motorbikes, then get them working again, although the glass bottle petrol tank wasn't a good idea!

The item found 09.22 is from the railway. It’s a point lock. It works by securing the moving point blade against the fixed rail. A padlock can be used also to prevent removal

The ultimate in recycling! Your doing a great job for the environment in clearing up the canal, making a few bob from the scrap and having a laugh at what you find. Love it! Has anything ever pulled you in? I remember a time when all you could see in the cut was sticklebacks! Keep it up guys.

This is true! And hey, I’m not actually trying to insult you guys or anything, but I am afraid it’s doomed - between the water & especially the magnet (particularly with really strong or rare earth types), well...the odds are definitely against success I’m afraid.
But hey!! You never know, right?! 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll happily learn to live with a foot in my mouth if you succeed! Plus it would be a rare opportunity to tell my hubby he was wrong! 😂🤣😂 (He’s Head of IT & SCADA operations at an Oil & Gas company)

i don t think thieves really care about anything,not even water or environment,if they had a conscience they would not be entering people s property or stealing purses.. most of these bikes are probably related to robberies,and obviously the safes and cctvs!

Did that black silty mud smell as rank as it looked? Fair play, that looked like a well dodgy area with all those cash boxes, safes and hard drives etc chucked in.
Farmers are the worst polluters almost all the world's seafood is heavily contaminated with toxic metals like mercury thanks to them seeping fertilizers into the ocean.

Me and my brothers used to break in to closed down buildings when we were between the ages of 7 and 11. One day we get in to a burnt down football clubhouse and found a huuuuge safe like 5-6ft tall old green one we tried for months before we admitted to our dad what we had been up too he brought his power tools and opened it only to find multi coloured filing paper XD

Might be worth buying a pin pointer, especially with the amount crap that comes out of them safes. I use mine for metal detecting beaches and it can pick up the tiniest of jewellery. Great video keep it up.

In preview, when he pulled up the pipe and the boat came in from the left, I thought the gas bottles were dudes in life-vests standing in awe while some dude ropes rubbish from the canal bottom.

Just discovered this channel and what a genius idea are the magnets expensive and if you find a weapon or anything like that does that have to go to the police
The magnets start from £10 but i recommend the 200kg double sided at around 45 quid but you get what you pay for lol i hand in the guns but keep the rest

A genuine question, why do you do magnet fishing? is it for a hobby? do you keep the stuff you find, or do you sell it?
Half of it can be cleaned and sold at scrap yards, and I'm sure it's just his hobby and he makes a few quid off of it.

Item at10:42 is a sheet pile extraction tool!! Used in repair and bank erosion construction jobs! Used for lifting & positioning the sheet piles! Then a flat top tool is used as you drive them into the ground! Hope this snippet of boring info helps !

I don’t know how the boats are able to get through the canal with all that junk in it. Great job cleaning it up.
The boats get damaged dhen they come through sometimes so its good to get all the junk out
Hard Drives are sealed, so you can wash them down as they are with with purified water and then with alcohol. Hook them up and should be able to read the contents.

Id love to hear what's on it. I've only ever found one hard drive and it was so rotten it snapped in half when I dropped it.
I’ve found them in the past waterlogged so hopefully something interesting on it
@@drasticg the forensic way is to disassemble the drive and remove the platter and swap that into a new drive of the same type.
Fiddly as you can imagine and a clean room is needed for zero dust.
