What rope do you use? I have the wukong 770kg and it's currently got blue polypropylene rope on it which is way more than strong enough but it's a bit to thick for my liking

Took my beast out on Sunday to London, third cast I pulled a colt service revolver 🤘 then got a starting pistol and a fully intact 1925 fire extinguisher! That magnet is a back breaker lol

I agree that it's good to have a cable winch for when the higher weighted magnets are used near metallic sides along the canals, etc. I had to get one when my magnet was stuck on probably a good sized girder at a canal lock. A good investment indeed. IF one was not available, I would have had to write my double sided 1650/1800 lb goliath.

I'm not sure if this would help but when I magnet fish I use a wallpaper scraper thing to help get items off
I prefer a plastic ice scraper as it doesnt stick to the magnets

RadicalMF watched a youtube video of a guy in the usa who was showing how to get out of snags etc and he basically walks away with the rope (left or right) basically instead of pulling up he just walked sideways/pulled sideways and 99% of the time the magnet freed its self. not sure about being stuck to a magnetic canal side but i’d imagine it would probably have the same effect?

y grand son has started this magnet fishing, but i used resin to bind the rope tied to the magnet, keeps it more secure than tape...

Love mine but thinking of selling if price is right. Invest in metal detector then.
See too much junk under bridges in my area now. The beast does bite on everything especially those coins they are not easily removed.

its kg not lb and yes once you get over a certain size its more trouble than its worth

Such a shame the canals are used as rubbish tips. Maybe council could avoid a lot of this if there was reduced or free days to drop off junk at the local tip.
