I love what the rabbi said at the end "This virus doesn't know, race, religion, color and it doesn't know order. If we don't unite in force, it's going to take us all". Well said rabbi.
Shut up
I totally agree. Sad to hear that other religious leaders are still in denial
Agree.
Yes because all of those concepts are man made. And man is ignorant and stupid. There is no relgion , their are no races. We are all human beings living on a living world. And we have been ignoring it. Period.

Hearing about people dying alone and grieving alone is sad.
Andrea B They brought it upon themselves by not abiding by the CoronaVirus rules. Do they believe that they are immune to it? Of course they do.

Sad
It’s not just Jewish people. Also they were selfish and hoarded materials that in the right hands could of saved their family

I really liked that they were able to receive final prayers through the hotline. I am Catholic and the last rites are extremely important to us as well. Good job❤

@@gladiolator9853 to those it matters to, it matters very much. i'm sorry it means so little to you. i hope that changes in time. xo
why? once you die your fate is sealed. it is pointed man to die once, and then the judgment. those prayers are not for the dead it is for the comfort of the the living.
@@gladiolator9853 if its useless then I suppose you are useless as well. We have a purpose in life and it continues in the afterlife, which you will find out...so if the prayers are useless, then it must be that as a person of meat and bones only, so are you..
@@gladiolator9853 maybe. But is it harming you personally? No. So why would anybody try denying a person that final bit of comfort?
Now this shows how a true religious person, that believes in the word, shows the compassion and empathy to their followers and those around them. These leaders are showing a great example, to the world. Thank you 🙏🏽♥️Brooklyn NY🕊
These rabbis weren’t saying this weeks ago, which is why it’s so bad. This same community had multiple large gatherings very recently, publicly snubbing NYC social distancing orders. The rabbis deciding NOW that they want to take action and listen to local authorities is going to do little to save their already infected people. This is the same community that had a measles outbreak only a year ago because their rabbis didn’t listen to local health officials and authorities. This is a chronic problem that no one is actually moving to address on a larger scale. If they want to abide by the mitzvah that saving one life saves the world, then they need real change. I pray that they do really change for their sake and the sake of the people who need them.
Nexsniper had they listened, we would not have to pray for them.
The Chabadniks, Orthodox, and ultra-Orthodox WERE doing this all along. They listened to science. Most of the Chasidim did NOT.
Madelyn t
@Nexsniper They need reason, not prayers.

Ok thanks thanks

They weren’t complying with rules for weeks, endangering themselves and others. I don’t know why they’re surprised.
Omg there way worse in israel
Idk man walking around the streets of NYC i see a lot of people without masks Jewish or otherwise. I don't see a big difference. Also the Jewish orthodox community wasn't hit harder than any other communities.
@@DM-ks1pj Except this was a factual statement. There were many documented Jewish neighborhoods shown to be ignoring social distancing guidelines. They then were impacted by Covid-19.
@@broadstork You're clueless then. Most of the major outbreak hot spots in NYC is in the Jewish community. Williamsburg, Borough Park, Westchester County
@@DM-ks1pj I've been dreading June because that's when they come up here for the summer, if Trump gets his way and relaxes social distancing, it will be like a cluster bomb going off all over upstate new york and it will be a completely different challenge to contain it from when the worst of it was isolated to a small region.
As a Muslim, I can feel their pain. May He, the Creator, relieve all of the humanity from this pandemic.

This video broke my hear for everyone who couldn’t get final prayers or comfort in the wake of a death. 😭
Doesn't matter about race, religion or whatever. as a fellow human with loved ones this broke my heart. people dying alone and grieving alone is horrible, I wish only the best for everyone, and for as little death as possible from this point on. because all of us who are left behind will be fractured in a society sense, and thousands of families torn apart due to an unseen monster.
stay strong and stay inside if you can help it, we must be strong for the future of all of us.

Well considering how they never socially distanced from one another, this is not surprising. They gather hundreds in the streets just a week or so ago, while police tell them to break up, and they do not.

The early days were so scary; we lost so many, so quickly. I am so thankful for how far we've come, but so upset by how many we've lost.
They refused to take it seriously and kept up with the gatherings, then they’re shocked..
I bet you that they're not dying any faster, or in greater number than any other group. It only seems worse due in-proportionate coverage by the media.
It's mainly because they don't have a tv, facebook or internet at all, so they were unaware of how serious it is. they only realized it when they've started to see people dying.
same problem happened with them in Israel, that's why ultra-orthodox neighborhoods and cities were under total lockdown.
unlikely, rather more likely is this corona virus has been around in NYC since Dec and because they were already so close with each other, it spread there very quickly in the beginning

Nature is coldly indifferent to customs and tradition - religious and otherwise...
B Avery well said. I wish I could shout that on a bullhorn 📢 for all the people who are insisting on congregating for religious events 😖
Religion is comforting. Just like cocaine and cigarettes. Coronavirus will not stop man's love affair with religion, cocaine and cigarettes.
Nature is indifferent to everything.
Except to the nature of nature itself.
Which is indifference.
What a perfectly fair system.
I mean weren't they all hanging around in mass gatherings about a week to two weeks ago. There were a bunch of them in the streets of Brooklyn
They are YHVH's children stop talking about them as if they are a plauge..look at what Wihan China did to Christians rounded them up and burned them Our G*D sees everything and judgment is coming apon this generation soon!
Yup. Same thing happened in Montréal and if anyone said anything they were accused of antisemitism
yes they were, isn't that interesting
Alexandre Cartier yes I saw that. There were hundreds of them close together in one UA-cam video
Lakewood, NJ, too.
This video breaks my heart. I can’t imagine how lonely it was for families not having their traditions. I mourn even greater for the dead to not have a hand of comfort or a prayer whispered in your ear as you enter eternity. But man, does it make me angry that these were the same communities shouting in the street because they’d don’t want to wear masks and violating health recomendaciones.
So sorry for your loss. Suffering is something we all understand. Blessings on all of you!

@Aspiring Pyramidbuilder o
Ok I'll
Why don't just call it what it is. Avoid the people who are sick.
@Aspiring Pyramidbuilder The jew cries out in pain as he strikes you
same with the fools in the Whitehouse who got warned back before the new year about all of this but yet did nothing till is was to late.
There are people who believe in any religion aren't listening and of course they suffer the consequences... Idk if these guys did or it but obviously if you don't listen during a time like this.. it's so stupid
At least they're distancing now, as opposed to people in Michigan who are protesting in large gatherings because they can't shop or get their hair done!
Michiganers are like: "Like, oh mah gah! I don't care about the stupid virus, I just, like, wanna go to the mall or something!"
Grab some Buds' and lob them at protestors. Not molotovs but clearly these people don't care about their safety.
That's not at all the reason why Michigan citizens are protesting you dummy
That's just what your TV tells you
Quarantine is when you restrict movement of sick people. Tyranny is when you restrict the movement of healthy people we dont need a nanny state to tell people how to be careful
This is so very heartbreaking! But I love that the hospital workers are at least willing to support these families by playing the prayers for their dying family members. At least, in a small way, they won't feel so alone.
This content has so much wisdom that everyone need to pay attention too.

Here in Montreal, Quebec in Canada. i live in Outremont/Mile End where there is a large Hasidic community.
We have now become one of the most infected neighborhoods because a this very similar situation and reaction of the ultra-orthodox community. They were still having huge gatherings and Not really respecting guidelines given by the gov during the pandemic. I understand that it is part of their lifestyle and completely get it but up until the two last weeks during passover celebrations, again there were still huge gatherings. Rabbis werent telling people how dangerous it was to still go to prayer groups and temple or visit family and friends in large numbers. The authorities had to speak to their community leaders because we all shop in some of the same stores and stuff because the message wasnt reached. Its only last week that i started seeing less of them walking in groups on the street at the markets, and wearing masks as well. This virus is hard for all of us we have to do the best we can.Even me as a person of christian faith i know how its important for a person but also lives are important, be safe for your loved ones, neighbor, co worker is important. This virus does not discriminate, death does not discriminate .Its sad and heartbreaking but social distancing needs to be done right now until this thing cools down. Its sucks for all of us
They're not morons, just misguided. It angers me as a Jewish woman, that the ultra orthodox community casts a shadow over the rest of the Jewish population. I called government officials and police departments in Monroe, Rockland and New Jersey to enforce stricter consequences for non compliant people in general. If you watch the news, without blinders, it's not just the Hasidic community not sheltering in place! Look at the people throughout the country ignorantly protesting stay in place regulations. There are many churches guilty of congregating in large numbers as well. No comments about them? Again, I'm Jewish & so, I'm not in agreement with ANYONE risking lives! I believe anyone not doing what they should be doing, shouldn't be eligible for ventilators, or ICU care. People, this is life or death. STAY HOME!!! Stay well, and God bless us all!!

In this lockdown period make yourself busy with amazing videos
The video COMPLETELY omits the truth about why this group was "hard hit". This community completely ignored social distancing for a good two weeks after it was mandatory in the city. The fire marshals had to shut down several weddings of 200 to 300 people well after gatherings were limited to 10 people. They also kept their schools open a good week and a half after the public and other private schools had closed. The gatherings were documented in the NYTs and NYPost. I saw the school buses with my own eyes. Everyone knew this was going on and we wondered how they were getting away with, let alone how they can have such disregard for their fellow citizens. They will get no pity. We will never forget what they did!

People: worries about having a wedding while a deadly virus is spreading
Me: worried about stocking up on 🍜
All sad and they must stay home
The Jewish home is integral to the Jewish way of life. A couple getting married is thought to be entering not just in a union with eachother, but also simultaneously into a sacred union with G-d.
Traditional Jews have ALWAYS stayed the course for weddings, even when the celebrations weren't convenient or authentically celebratory because of what is/was going on in the outside world. There's a famous Jewish story of a couple quickly finishing their wedding ceremony as Nazi soldiers were approaching them to ship them off to death camps to be exterminated. Just like every moment of life is precious, every moment devoted to the building of a Jewish home is precious. It's why most engagements are 1-3 months. Enough time to plan a wedding from a logistical angle, not to make "a perfect day)celebration.". The weddings are not a goal, but a means to an end, and that is building the Jewish family. Which is, for us, about as integral as making sure we have enough food to eat, if not more so.
It is part of the cycle of life. No weddings, no babies. We must keep soldiering on!

I was a youth pastor on my way to theology school before I got vaccinated to cure my stupidity in the form of a physic lecture. Anyhow, during a convention of youth ministry, a speaker said the following which opened my eyes... he said, when he go on missionary trips to some of the poorest places in Asia, he saw those believers, instead of taking medicine to try to cure their sickness, they would pray so hard and eventually most of their illness would go away. He said we are so spoiled by the availability of medicine that we need to pray and allow God to heal us instead of trusting in medicine."

@@phyllispollack1 I would tell her to elope by herself if thats really what she wants. New York City has temporarily allows weddings via video chat remotely online.
Hi I just wanted to say something about Jewish weddings as an orthodox Jew myself. We have in our tradition that you do not put off a wedding for any reason. that if you have a set date for a wedding no matter what you should just go through with it. For wedding all you need is the rabbi to officiate it and witness. It's so important to keep the schedule of a wedding that even if there has been a death in the family that either the bride or groom would have been required to shiva which means that they basically stay-at-home not even wear shoes and have everybody come and comfort them for 7 days after immediate family member has passed away, they still go through with it, or wait until the immediate. Of mourning has happened passed. I frankly for myself I actually know someone who had a mini wedding in a parking lot where only people that were there was the rabbi to officiate her and her husband, about 10 scattered people, and her parents who didn't even want to come but decided to come and they stayed in their car.
