      All men sin and fall short of the glory of God. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross, rose again on the third day and was the final sacrifice for the sins of all men. He was fully man and fully God. He was a Jew born of the tribe of Judah. He fulfilled the scriptures written about the Messiah by the prophets. There is no way into Heaven except by Jesus, He is the truth, the life and the only way. May the Lord bless all who read this, in Jesus name Amen.

      It's a cult. It is interesting how his approach was completely different to the orthodox Jews of New York, Borough Park and LDS. Orthodox Jews are a classic cult, they forbid watching TV, using cell phones, force women to wear wigs, dress like aunts, and give birth to 10 children each. But he showed them as "normal, average New Yorkers". WTF

  • @sab8634
    @sab8634 4 роки тому +549

    As a New Yorker, I grew up in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood. My family is Muslim and they were plenty of other Muslims in the area. We all lived in peace. No one disturbed anyone. The orthodox Jews do not talk to anyone but their own kind and we respected that. I believe we all come from the same Abrahamic religions and we have never passed any judgments on them. Jewish folks are very polite folks!
    Jews and Muslims have a ton of similarities where we don’t drink alcohol, date & marriage, not eat pork, ham, eat kosher/halal, etc. (Of course not exactly the same, but more similar than different.) I believe if we respect everyone and their religion there will never be conflict. The point is that we need to respect each other’s beliefs and leave judgment to God. Overall, this video was informative as it dives into the depth of their religion and culture. It was very interesting and I enjoyed it.
    Here’s to wishing we could all be in peace around the world. Peace and love to all. Thanks for sharing!

      So true

    • @sab8634
      @sab8634 4 роки тому +54

      @Vicki Soni Sorry, but I respectfully disagree. Of course the religions are not entirely the same when it comes to practice and the holy books. I had mentioned that they’re plenty of similarities. From my research and understanding of both religions, the Jews believe in One God "Allah", the Creator of everything with no partner, nothing is like unto Him and He is invisible to all creatures. As do the Muslims. I did not know that the word “Allah” is considered a curse term in the Torah. I am hearing this for the first time and not sure where that is stated in the Torah. I will look this up. The main thing is that Islam and Judaism worship one God only called Allah in Arabic and Elohim in Hebrew and it is the same.
      Muslims and Jews share beliefs in certain Prophets. Jews believe that Moses is the greatest of all Prophets who was sent to mankind. Muslims also believe in Moses, who is in fact the Prophet most mentioned in the Quran. Muslims and Jews also believe in Abraham, Noah, David, Solomon, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph.
      Nevertheless, in religious practice are very similar because they share this common descent from Abraham. Islam and Judaism are resolutely monotheistic faiths. Allah is the same Creator, Sustainer, and Provider that Jews and Christians worship.
      I can go on and on about some other similarities: Jews only eat kosher and Muslims only eat halal. There are many similarities between kosher and halal, not drinking alcohol, not eating pork and both religions encourage modesty and require that women cover their hair.
      If you dig deep into the bible, torah, quran, buddhism, hinduism etc. You will come to find that all is one.The differences come from different times, different cultures, different revelation types, different languages.
      At the end of the day, there is only one God and he is God for all of us. So, let’s talk more of our similarities rather than differences. This is the reason for so much conflict in the world. I don’t wish to discuss this any further as I am not here to argue. Good luck to you!

    This is what proper journalism looks like. We need more journalists like Peter. He literally gives you a tiny snippet of there lifestyle and it completely shifts people's perspective on them. The sensationalist media loves to hold onto this terrible narrative of them searching for every isolated incident that can make them look bad. I've been to Vegas many times at CES convention with Hassidim and they we're the nicest people to deal with. They provided free meals, lavish meals. They have so many community organizations for sick people, for grieving people, for infertility treatment subsidies, food drives, paramedic and patrol volunteers, you name a communal need and they have a service for it. Charity is a major value of the ultra orthodox community and is actually a law in Judaism to give at least 10% of income to charity.

      While it's refreshing not to see the hostility. I would not say it's unbiased. Shloimy is a decent guy and he is being somewhat honest but at the same time he's also leaving out a lot of the negative and presenting everything in a very positive way for the most part. The Channel is buying into it. But there are many problems in the hasidic world. Discrimination against women mostly by limiting what they can do and achieve . Though there are some that manage to achieve quite a lot for that world such as judge ruchie. He also was not honest about converting or proselytizing (though in fairness he was interrupted) as they may not target not Jews but lool how much Chabad and other groups target secular Jews? Also the hostile attitude to non Jew may be partially a response to protect themselves from antisemitism but it's much deeper than that. Racism for example runs very deep in this world and in general going to yeshiva as an inpressionable child I was exposed to constant comments about how things are so bad in the goyish world and how we are so much better (today we see one scandal after another, one covered up child abuse incident after another so its BS anyway). Stil shloimy does seem like a great guy and I respect what he does also in the Middle East. (Some would argue he got the blessing for Pizza wrong. ) And I like what Peter is doing also but he does seem a bit naive.

      All Jews who can prove their blood bloodline are allowed "return to Israel and granted Israeli citizenship if they so choose. This is because despite where they were born or live, Jews only have loyalty to one nation- Israel!

      @@sfdiscovery There is no such thing as "religion" to be honest. In sanskrit the word Dharma translates to universal law. Linguistically the word "deen" in hebrew and arabic means "true judgement" and every human has the capacity to recognize God and truth.
      The Israelite tradition is a continuation of the noahide law and primordial faith of all peoples as revived by Abraham. Even the word "religion" comes from the latin re ligare meaning to reconnect.
      The indo european and semitic traditions are actually very similar when understood in their original languages and understanding both cultures is necessary to see the full picture.

    I lived in Brooklyn from 2016-18. I'm a Puerto Rican non-religious Christian woman and found myself working at an Orthodox Jewish office in Boro Park and it was a major culture shock for me. Most of the women I worked with had never been around a gentile or an outsider and developing relationships with them was very difficult. A few months in I had pretty much assimilated and was accepted by everyone at my work. I've been to weddings and other gatherings, and to this day they are some of my absolute closest friends. I love this community and miss Boro Park dearly! I'm so happy I found this video.

      There’s definitely a lot of sects. There’s an old Jewish saying we have: give 2 Jews and argument and you’ll get 4 opinions. I grew up for a spell in a similar environment. There’s definitely less pretty aspects of this dichotomy not talked about much in this, and honestly there’s a lot of fracturing between different sects of Jews. Ultimately that was the biggest piece that started me going away from the religious community altogether.
      There’s a lot of nice people, but a lot of that isolation and skepticism (which I 100% understand) can also breed contempt by some. Religious Jews outside metropolitan NYC are definitely more accepting of others than in Boro Park and especially Williamsburg.

    Hello! I’m a non-Jewish nurse who had the pleasure of working in the Hasidic communities of Monsey and Kiryas Joel, New York and I can tell you- the Hasidic Jewish people are beautiful and truly misunderstood! I was raised in a family who did not have a favorable view of Jewish people, and I am so glad I decided to find out how lovely these people are myself. I began to work with them in 2020 during Covid, and I brought my then 15 year old daughter to work with me and they welcomed us with open arms. The next few years I worked along side them I learned more about the culture, came to love the food, and even learned some Yiddish! (Baruch HaShem!) Fast forward to 2024, I moved to northwest Pennsylvania, but my now almost 20 year old daughter still works in Kiryas Joel while she goes to college in New York, and I can rest easy that my Jewish friends ensure she is well cared for. I urge anyone who doesn’t like the Hasidic people to get to know them a bit better- you won’t be disappointed!
    Baruch HaShem and L’Shanah Tovah for Rosh Hashanah my friends!

WTF

    Years ago, I was sketching in Palisades Interstate Park, & a Hasidic family pulled into the parking lot. The father, a rabbi, came & complemented me on my art work. Followed by his wife, eldest daughtet, 2nd, 3rd & 4th children, ALL introducing themselves, & complimenting me. Finally, the youngest sat down across from me & said she wished she could be an artist. I assured her if she wanted to be an artist, she'd surely succeed, since her family was very supportive. I realized that they all introduced themselves so I was now deemed a family friend & no longer a stranger. They went out of their way to let her talk to me. Lol.

    I'm a Saudi Arabian Muslim. I watched the movie Urthodox and now i saw this video.
    It is really interesting to know more about a different culture.
    After all, we are all human beings. If i were born in that city i would've been jewish, and if he was born here in Saudi Arabia, he would've be a Muslim.
    This concept is why i believe people should be open minded and respectful to other religions

      I do have an idea that there are christian people in our country. Chrisitan are allowed to be in saudi arabia but not in medina or mekka, which are the holy places for muslims, just like vatikan.
      Other than that, you can see christians everywhere in Saudi Arabia. In fact, our tribe were chrisitans before we got the message 1400 years ago. Trust me, muslims don't have an issue against any religion, as long as someone does not cross the line.

    As a Hasidic Jew myself i certainly appreciate when someone with a genuine interest in our culture comes to our community in order to shine a light on what others see as a mystery. We have our strengths and weaknesses, good and bad, rich and poor, and some challenges that are unique to our particular way of life. But at the end of the day we, like you, are just people. We need to get better at appreciating one another for what we are as people and not focus so much if someone is a democrat or republican, Christian or Jew, executive or street sweeper, what we wear or don't wear. I firmly believe that what's most interesting about you and me has nothing to do with what we wear or any of the above. If anyone has any questions i would be more than happy to try my best to answer.

Meaning the life our parents and grandparents left behind. Lots of stories are told and retold. A significant portion of our comunities have traveled to these old towns back "Home" to tour, explore and pray at the gravesites of rabies and renowned scholars dating back almost a millennia.

      @@slandau100 Hi! It`s so good to come across such openness in your community. I have also seen the famous Netflix series and also read up on Deborah whose life the series was based upon. I believe that Deborah was harshly mistreated but I know very well that her case is an extreme, she grew up in the Satmar community, one of the strictest ones. Unfortunately her grandparents suffered the Holocaust too and that pretty much influenced their entire life.
      You on the other hand have more freedom if I may say? Since you have access to internet and I suppose you can read and watch whatever is decent?
