Reason why we like these older cars is that designers took a risk on making cars stand out. Cars today look basic. They may do a wild front grill but look at the rest of the car.
As a transport design student, i guarantee you that this is false, the thing is we will do a wild concept, but engineering will ruin the wild lines we want for convenience.

If Christopher Walken was a gearhead. ;) The Starion and later on the 3000GT were some of the greatest and best looking cars around. Too bad they weren't more successful.
I did a Larry flip last week. Bought a friends 2008 Ford SUV for the trade in value, $500. Using what I’ve learned from your channel I spent about 26 hours polishing, waxing, degreasing, washing……. I’m new at this.. What I thought was black paint was actually a dark blue metallic. Came out really nice. Slapped a For Sale sign on it and parked it in my front yard. Sold it for 7 times my purchase price within an hour. Thanks for teaching us how to care for our cars.
@Maxima most of the times it’s fine if the cleaner gets in there. Just use a scrub pad and or spray the cleaner on a microfiber towel and go at it. Haven’t had any issues with those techniques. Best of luck
"I spent a lot of time sideways in this car in the winter" just imagine how good it was for him the reveal, the way he looks at it and how he caresses the side when loading her on the truck, from a car enthusiasts perspective it's probably the best thing ever 💘 keep painting smiles on people faces Larry!
I owned 4 of these throughout the late 90s to late 2000s. I am glad these cars are finally getting the flowers they deserve. They're a timeless design.
Larry, the tunes you've been playing in the videos the last while have been an awesome addition. Almost 10 years into following your channel and the content keeps getting better and better.
One of my favorite designs from the 80s. It’s amazing how well it’s aged, nearly 40 years after it was introduced. Love how the owner is so emotionally attached to the car. Great job Larry!
Something about this car embodies the 80's perfectly. I blend of the Japanese tech wave and American muscle attitude. I wish there were more of them around. The first one I ever saw was while I was a teen walking around my town and I had no idea what it was, but fell in love immediately.
I always tear up when you reveal these beautifully restored vehicles to their owners. I don't know why. It's like you're giving them a piece of their youth back. Excellent detail.
I almost can't hold the tears. The owner reaction and his happiness face make your work almost something therapeutic. You're a very Luck person, who works making other people happier while you do what you love. Keep going Larry, Continue making reality some people dreams. Greetings from Spain
I used to do the same, pass by at night and stare at the Starion through the dealership fence and thought to myself “one day”. 34 years later I finally got my dream car.
I hope the owner is serious about getting that gem up and running again. That's too nice of a survivor to just stick it back in the garage and let it sit some more. An amazing job again Larry !!!
I'm in the same age range as Paul and it was awesome to see him instantly reconnect with the Starion when he first saw it all cleaned up. Not all of us have that opportunity...
I've always wanted one of these. It's like a mix between a fox body and old Porsche and an old Audi Quattro. That thing is going to be worth some money after the restore. Looks amazing
What an amazing job you did! This is my favorite Mitsubishi ever, still a great looking car today! Mitsubishi was NEVER known for great paint and I've never seen one this old look this good!
Hey Larry, it would be absolutely amazing if you could follow up with the car owners & film the mechanical restoration as well every once in a while, it's great to see the cars come out of your garage looking brand new but we also want to see the engine rebuild & all the other mechanical stuff as well.
My brother used to have this same car but in canary Yellow… he sold it when he was young and had no idea how much he would regret getting rid of it. He sold it more than 20 years ago and to this day he still has dreams that he found it and bought it back 😢
Now that's a blast from the past. I used to race a friend's Starion Turbo at Bridgehampton back in the mid 80s. I even remember those Formula Fords like the one's in the pictures that this guy used to race. Great memories!
The fact that he is not only a true professional but he is also able to produce amazing videos and has his own brand with different liquids for detailing is super impressive.
Amazing that he has had it since new! Glad he will be putting the work in to get it roadworthy again. Very cool car and amazing work bringing the paint and interior back to life.
I hope this make over by Larry motivates the owner to this beautiful car back on the road that it deserves. Ive always wanted one of these cars.. Beautiful design...nice curvaceous curves
Wow that hurt seeing the Starion in that condition before getting it revived - that is one of my 5 cost-no-object cars and I'm so happy to see it revived
Wow this brings me back. I had a maroon colored 85 Dodge Conquest. It was very reliable and surprisingly quick. Great times in that car. So happy to see you restore the Mitsubishi version of it. Amazing work as always.
This detail and restoration came out SO GOOD! What a before and after. I had never seen the Starion before, but it's a beautiful and classic 80's design.
Reminds me of the black 86 Dodge Daytona that I bought in high school for $500. I detailed that thing to the best of my ability and was so proud of that car. This video certainly took me back.
You are such a class act Larry! What a great moment when you captured Paul's raw emotions on camera. You continue to amaze me with your detailing skill set, passion and communication. I wonder if a glossy black wrap or even the colored PPF's available would have been a good option to hide the pounding that the hood and front bumper took over the years. Anyhow, just a thought. Thanks again and blessings over you and yours during the upcoming holidays.
That was absolutely wonderful. I just purchased an '87 starion last week. It's been a dream of mine since I was twelve. It didn't sit as long as this one but it does need detail work. Seeing your skill was great to see but I figured out quickly I cannot afford someone of your caliber. Keep up the wonderful work.
Ah, very magnificent. When the old owner reunites with his old, trusty partner. Never gets old, brings you to the memory lane. What a stunning experience. That car looks majestic more than some of the newer cars today. Ah, Larry, another great episode!
I’ve got a 1988 Starion and I’m anxious to get it back from the body shop. They’re a great car and seeing what you did for that black beauty makes it even better. Thanks for sharing!
Great work Larry, again. Definitely a re-paint in its future. But to bring it back that far was amazing. I'm sure you'll get a ride once the engine rebuild is done. maybe post that vid someday? Just ordered your AMMO Mousse for my 986
