The SVs marked the end of the Miura’s production run. The reason they didn’t have eyelashes is because the factory ran out of them and didn’t want to go through the hassle of getting more. A couple of SVs had them though. Changes in rear toe angles under braking and acceleration was an issue on Miura’s. The SVs in addition to wider rear wheels and tires had redesigned control arm pivot points to finally mitigate the problem. The split sump is well known to cure the problem of gear oil mixing with crankcase oil which caused main bearing failures. Being a German market car it is probably best it didn’t have eyelashes because they’d have need to be boxed-in around their perimeter just like those hood vents are to pass TUV. Can’t have those exposed sharp edges even though they’re recessed and would hurt no one. The Miura is one of the most beautiful cars in the world. Marcello Gandini said his only regret was the front wheels are too far inset into the wheel wells but there was nothing he could do because the chassis was already production ready when he was tasked to design a body around it.

Keep it on the road and it’ll lose more pieces of itself than were present when it was produced. It’s sad, but necessary for our grandchildren’s grandchildren to appreciate the beauty of these automotive machines…
It's truly wonderful knowing someone values the car enough to preserve it instead of having the kind of ego that needs to "daily" the car, set it afire, and have it become lost. Getting to see it restored as close to showroom-new as possible with respectful expertise was really something. I am so glad this was done by a leading expert. That specific car deserved this treatment. Bravo!

Given that there are less than 400 of the original 762 to 764 of these machines left in existence, possibly even less than that, I can’t say I blame the guy. No one really knows the number of them left, but there could be only half of the original production numbers left in existence across the globe. And even fewer of them may be roadworthy with even less completely original cars. This piece of history deserves to be preserved, it’s one of the last of its kind.
Bravo!
You have it the wrong way around. Simply past the “cars are meant to be driven” thing which in itself is absolutely correct, cars deteriorate when they arent used. Regardless of how perfect the resting conditions are when they arent used and run things go off. This specific car deserved to be driven.
@@tunatumer you are assuming it won't be looked after. I've watched the barn find vids, Tuna. Well aware of what happens when cars sit. Call Vice Grip Garage when you buy it and want to drive it. He'll get it back on the road, drive it 700 miles home, and then you can pick it up and bring it back to AMMO NYC to get it looking exactly like this again, okay?
Love it 😍
I love this color spec.
nice one Larry
Such a tragedy its never going to be driven. Cars are meant to be driven. Anything that wears out can be rebuilt.
I got my kit ordered!
Love you work and love this dream car, I see your passion when you do this work
What a treat ! Yesss
I’m not sure what you changed camera wise, but the filming and editing of this video is super choice. Excellent equality!
Legend Larry awesome job
Thank you!
at the end bro is driving like if it was 5 mil and I think it's justified
great piece of art, I'd never even try to get close to one
Digging the pseudo 70s classics. I heard almost Dreams and almost Heart of Gold for sure.
Shame its going to sit in a display case and not be driven anymore...
Yes... but somethings have to be preserved so people in the future can also behold a legend like this.
@@micglouThere are plenty of cars in perfect condition that get driven regularly.
It'll be in great shape for the next next owner.
@@micglou It won't be preserved. It's like not exercising your body, it will atrophy over time.
@@martinogoldyou think this car will waste away? Cute.
You should have driven it before the clean but...
Absolutely phenomenal !
