Micheal thats not a bad deal if you have the title. Dont go all out with mods just restore the bike back original. It will be worth more at the end because you cant hardly find clean fresh restored stock 250R's.

Why are there so many used power sports vehicles without titles ? Seems like 1 out of 20 have a title.
@@immelting9834 people don’t wanna pay the tax for it, they buy the quad and usually you have no point in titling it, most of the titled bikes are in places like Arizona where you can street legal them and ride them around. But it all boils to people not wanting to pay the title tax on something that really isn’t worth it

I thought the price was a little steep when I first watched the video. HOWEVER I checked the market in my area (Southeast Michigan) and the average price is $4500 for a running machine.

Man...! I'm in the Home of Yuengling about an hour north of you. A 250R in this area of PA was rare when they were new through the late 90s when I rode daily. I haven't seen a 250R FourTrax in person in over 20 years. Even when they were the quad to have I only knew of one person that had one of the 30+ I rode with regularly. It's great to see one! I'll be surfing through your vids to find the ones of this build!
You could have stopped at the UA-cam post which was humble and layed out everything at a high level but the fact you made a detailed objective video explaining everything shows how awesome you are. The purchase made 100% sense. Cheers.

Guys factor in also that Sabo has a Patrion income coming in from the vids of this bike softening the hit of the high purchace price for the bike. At that point getting ahold of one quick so he can start posting vids is important. So getting one 5 miles away today might trump searching for another month and shipping across country.
I don't have a Patrion account but yes; I do make money from my videos and the point you made is spot on.

Hey man I'm also from PA but the other side of the state and most definitely the prices are higher for them around here but are still some good deals around now and again. But I just wanted to let you know that you should also be looking on pennswoods classifieds it's the site I use the most for buying and selling ATVs and dirt bikes and primarily all in the PA state and usually alot of options on there. I just wanted to let you know incase you didn't know about it for your future purchases. We are big banshee and TRX250R people on this side of the state also so good luck and looking forward to seeing the future episodes. Take care man.
It's the same here in Northwestern Pennsylvania market isn't great but the ones you do find are $3500 and up for a 250r. My 97 banshee I bought I truly believe I overpaid but it was bone stock which is rare and I wanted it that way. Clean slate you know I built how I wanted it done not what someone else wanted. That's what you're doing built it the way you want and I can't wait to see how it turns out. 👍
Lackawanna co here... Banshee's for day's . But beat to hell. Like you said, i waited until an 01 Stock shee came up for 3k.
Than found a Suzuki 250r which i Got Taken for a ride. Paid 2k sold 900$. There is only 1 or 2 Honda 250r around me and they are in the 5-8k range. I'LL Stick with my Shee. Peace

The older and wiser we get the less we get distracted with ego and your right stay focused on the end prize . People dont realize, depending on where you are located the price and availability for a good deal are limited. I think you did a great job finding the ideal trx250r for your build. I am looking forward in seeing you build up this iconic quad. You always deliver an honest, and truthful step by step process in your videos. Haters will hate. Nit picking on trivial aspects of your build. Stay true to yourself and let them go to another UA-cam video.

Hey this is obviously late, but you got a solid deal.. I’m eastern state’s. $2500 for a complete engine! Is a great deal, anywhere! So.. Mike you didn’t do a bad deal, I found a super deal from an 67 yr. old original owner w/ original title.. and the bike was all there(OEM) bolt for bolt missing only the rear grab bar(oem) ! I looked off n on for 2 years.. (and seen 50+ pos’s) if I had the time and funds I’d buy em, cause they’ll end up on eBay .. parted out🙁 anyways, $6k (at least) later we got a top notch R, I’ve been working on bikes and quads for over 40 yrs. love restoring bikes, engine building, everything about it. My son was on a pretty famous UA-cam channel and the hate that spewed from ppl’s mouths was “absolutely!” Sickening ‼️ that’s why I never bothered to do videos, it ain’t worth the threats, comments, opinions from ppl that probably never touched an engine.. but know everything about it. Gotta love the bipolar keyboard warriors.. Really like your videos, the presentation, informative, polite, keep it up! And have fun!

Everything you said made complete sense. One thing you did not include in the text but may also have swayed your decision that you mentioned prior, is you did want one that was not in perfect shape or "done" already. You said you wanted one that needed work or that you could customize your way.

hey mike , I'm new to your channel and the 250r got me here I personally have 8 of these bikes I wouldn't sell any of mine that cheep people can talk all they want about the bd deal you got but at the end of the day if you are happy with the deal that's all that matters. I personally have bought some of my bikes from cali you do get nice bikes from there but you really need to know someone that lives out there so you don't get screwed as well also its roughly 750.00 to ship a quad from cali to ohio good luck with your build I can't wait to see it transpire bob

A lot depends on what kind of build he has planned if he overpaid or not. If he is gonna build a mx quad or something high performance and mod that thing to the gills, then imo he overpaid. Because most of the parts on that quad wont be used anyway. If he is gonna do a resto build then he did ok because most of the bike is stock and can be used. I haven't really been in the 250r world since around 2010-11 and I can't believe how much the prices went up from then. Cant wait to see the plans for the build! Hopefully that video is next.
Dude I'm in PA also, Western PA, people are getting 3k all day and it's worn out may start but it's a pile, I guess where some of these people are the market is different. I think you did good, especially for what your doing. Keep it up.
You got a great deal. People will always have something to say over the internet. Its hard enough to find one unmolested.....let alone with a title. You were there you got to hear it ride and see it in person amd made a purchase based off that. Having one shipped is risky because ultimatly you dont know what will a ride... Could pay for a mint 250r and get a pile of dog poop in a box. Thats very fair for the market in pa (pittsburgh pa is where I'm from). You wanted something unmolested so you can build it exactly how you want it and thats exactly what you have. Cheers and build on I'm watching this thread lol. I havent had a atv in a while but I gor a jeep on my channel feel free to check it out.

This will be a great build, its hard not to overpay when there is not many to choose from.
Price was all right !! It runs and had a title ! Good deal. I'm sure you wanted something that you could build on and wasn't too far trashed that didn't work. . The whole point was the build quality.
I can't find a better 250r in my area for any less...like you said your situation was different with this machine..sometimes you just have to get it cause you already know what your gonna do to it..I would have bought it to ....keep your head up and keep wrenchin ...

Dude I think you paid a good price. I live in southern Indiana and there's maybe 4 250r around but are all rough and 3-4 hours away listed for $2500. Yours is pretty nice I think and not a bad price

I just subbed your channel in the last month or so do to the Top quad...great series btw. I want a R as well because at 17 when they were new I could not afford one. I have a 350 raptor now. I got it cheap, runs and looks like new and figuered it was a way for me to get back into riding without killing myself after being away 30 years. I think you did not do that bad the market is crazy right now. I want a R or a Banshee and both in my area or 4500 plus. Saw a recent nice R going for 8500. Like my dad always says if you get what you wanted and you both walk away feeling ok then you did not overpay.

I live 30 mins north of Pittsburgh and prices for 250rs or banshees are no different here I just got my banshee on a good deal traded my built warrior I bought off a family friend for 800 bucks. Basically got my banshee for 800 bucks! Bored 60 over bran new kicker tusk shifter it goes on. Needs here and there stuff like rubber gaskets for exhaust and springs little stuff like that but over all she's clean for an 87. Dont let no one change what you believe in and keep up the awesome builds!
In my opinion i got respect for you you kept it 💯 and that what all matters, I would like to know who is perfect in this world, I would consider it as a good experience..

I watch your videos a lot keep rippin! LOL. Any way about the deal, I see your point. I have been telling my brother for years. Its does not matter about what things are going for in some situations. All that matters is what someone is willing to pay for something they want. So when you bought the 250R that told me that you already had a buyer for the bike redone ( or at least a pretty good idea who would be interested) People pay for what they want. There are always underlining factors with every single deal! No two are the same. Sometimes there is wiggle room some times there isn't. That being said.Just because you don't see or understand why someone did something a certain way, there is a underlying factor your not aware of. So a guy might be telling you I seen your videos... ( man I will give you 8,000$ for a tits 250R! He may put the money in escrow. You never know. 3000$ may have been a steal for what your client is looking for once your done with it.

Was looking for a lt250r. ALOT of nice ones for a good price... except they were in CA or Florida etc.
found one hour away from me and yes I feel I over paid a good $500 bill but I accepted it do to the convenience of the distance. Sometime it’s worth it to pay a little extra for less of a headache.

I also am from the Philly area and I understand completely where you are coming from. I think that 3,000 is a great deal. I think that it is hard to come by bikes and quads for cheap especially if you want a specific one.
Looking at the market you got a good price......they hold their value and a are rare old school race quads.....

I agree Mike. I'm nearby in Roxborough and I can second the notion that this market is rough. Everyone wants top dollar. Great deals are few and far between.
