      Hey Michael! I have a fresh built 250r with brand new HPI ignition. I am only running a pro design tether kill switch. Does that go right into that "kill switch wire" coming off the cdi? Or do I splice that into the orange wire coming into the coil?

    Congrats bro. I knew you'd figure it out. Now it's time for a ride video. Wanna see that bad boy in action. Oh, hey, 1 more tip for you. If you want a lighter pull on your clutch lever, straighten out that Z bend on your lower clutch lever, attached to the clutch cable (seen at 10:20). You'll have to grind a little off the cylinder for clearance of the lever and tweak the cable mount a little, but the reduction in clutch pull is noticeable and well worth the mod.

    Technical writing is an art form in itself. Some of the best engineers, inventors, and builders have a hard time clearly explaining how their creations work. It's no surprise that the installation instructions were misleading. When someone knows everything there is to know about a system, they may unconsciously assume that the reader understands what they are saying.

    • @MichaelSabo

    A question for you. would you say with the lower mass flywheel than stock, the motor revs a bit quicker or easier? Also, is there less vibration? I figure even with the added weight, the hpi unit is lighter than oem. I just ordered an hpi unit for my bike that has a big ol' OEM flywheel. hoping to get a quicker revving bike and hoping this smaller diameter flywheel will reduce some of the vibration.

    Hey mike you might want to check but we always lightened our flywheel for mx. And run oem for xc racing. Some guys weight there flywheels for xc. More roating mass slower rev, less stall. Lighter flywheel faster rev. On a mx track you want faster rev to get the power down for the jumps. That's why mx dirtbikes have such small flywheels.

    Are you going to dyno tune it? So we can see the hp it makes vs a stock 250

      If I can get access to a dyno for 4 wheelers I will be doing dyno videos no doubt.

    Good video! Im curious to see what you do for engine brake in procedure? And if you do one at all...? Read and hear of alot of different things online and on u tube videos. Im in the middle of doing a top end on my rm125. And kind of want to see what people think before i start it for first time. Do you have any suggestions for me Mike? Would appreciate it! And anyone else that would like to leave a comment :)

    Hopefully you still monitor this video. You set 2mm BEFORE TDC. Was that a step specific to the TRX250R or does that apply to all Two Strokes ie CR125? BTW, great vid!

    Great video on this install. You set your timing at 2mm BTDC. Is that what your motor calls for?
    Once you ran this a while did you need to advance it or retard it at all?
    I’m using this same type of HPI on my Yamaha TD2 motor. It calls for 1.8mm BTDC. I just wanted to know that you set yours up to what your manual says. Thanks again. Great job!! Thom

Do a solid ! Could be a great review !

    CR250 as in the CR250 dirtbike? On a TRX250R working properly? Ik this sounds dumb but I grew up on 4 stroke ATV's

      Yes; the CR250 ignition is actually considered an upgrade.

    Is HPI available for yamaha blaster ??

    • @MichaelSabo
      @MichaelSabo  4 роки тому +1

      I would imagine yes; these are somewhat universal and HPI makes a ton of different models. LED Performance may actually know the exact one and be able to get it for you.
