Consider it a very good lesson learned. A very small price to pay for learning and showing your viewers what can REALLY happen when you get a spark involved with some gas fumes ... or any other kind of volatile fumes. I love the thumbnail that you chose for the video. You don't see that every day! Great videos! Keep up the good work! Totally entertaining.

You’ve shown people not only a fast way to get old gas out the cylinder but how also not to do it or the risk with it. All a learning curve so thanks for showing!
Pretty scary, it’s an oversight I can see a lot of people having while tinkering. Makes me want to invest more into extinguishers and such. Glad like you said there was no oil or fuel on your hands/gloves. Count our blessings.
As soon as you started spinning the engine by the flywheel, I was like, "I hope that spark plug isn't still on the boot". Dang, that sucks. You avoided a catastrophe though!
A similar thing happened to us a while back. A long time ago my dad was working on a Suzuki King Quad 300 which wouldn't start. He checked for spark but he didn't know the cylinder was flooded. Shot gas everywhere and lit the whole quad on fire. He put it out, put the plug back in and it fired right up. We still have it to this day, it is still alive.

Strange how it catches on fire the exact day it's bought and you just happened to be recording. During my investigation on something like that is usually a scam. Most of the time it's an insurance scam. But in this case. It's more than likely a way to get a new bike without paying extra.
Yep funny how he didn't have it on film and the bike stand was outside with the bike. Did he take the bike of the stand then Pick up the stand and run outside with that aswell. So set up
Yes ha. The card clearly wasn’t entirely corrupted as the footage of him spreading fuel everywhere in the seconds prior was intact. So it follows the footage of it going up in flames would be intact, it would only be the bit after he knocked the cam over was missing. Also where’s the panicked tyre treads from the puddle of oil heading out the garage. Maybe he carried it over his head Spartacus style. Naaah. I think it’s a good stage but I’m not buying this one 😄. @@2vintage that wasn't all in the cylinder 🤣🤣🤣 it was in the crankcase! Still will have plenty of usable parts at least
as soon as you started spinning the motor, i was like "nnnnoo0o0o0o0o0o" *in slow mo*😂😂😂
thank god you and your home is ok man. dont worry about that bike. thats donzo
Strange how it catches on fire the exact day it's bought and you just happened to be recording. During my investigation on something like that is usually a scam. Most of the time it's an insurance scam. But in this case. It's more than likely a way to get a new bike without paying extra.
Anyone else think he might have set fire to the bike on purpose? For content 🤷🏼♂️😅
probably, I probably wouldn't want the squid working on my bikes either..
Yep funny how he didn't have it on film and the bike stand was outside with the bike. Did he take the bike of the stand then Pick up the stand and run outside with that aswell. So set up
@@stevewickos84 how tf would I know mate 😅
Great channel though. Love watching it.
There’s a bike literally across the doorway where the bike was being worked on…
Wow, insane video Joe. Thankful you’re alright and the house as well.
here's a wrenching tip, whenever a basket case comes in with spray painted parts, just skip diagnostics and go straight for the tear down 🔧
And that water pump being rusted is why you don’t run water in the cooling system
Why not elaborate on what you run as coolant?
Dang I felt like I wanted to jump in and help you put the fire out,Glad you all are okay and your house. Stay safe and keep a few fire extinguisher around👍🏼👍🏼
When it started puking oil and gas out of the case that was your sign to stop. You had the plug wire on the plug sparking… not good dude…. You need to learn how to properly check out a bike…. First sign of fuel that you can’t control…. Stop! Oh well… nice $450 dollar charcoal briquette! Too bad…. Watch some pros work on bikes buddy…. I’ve restored numerous bikes and have wrenched on bikes for 35 yrs…. Learn to properly inspect and work on a bike… safely.
Wow all the couch know it alls lmao! Pretty awesome you got it on video, good thing you and your house are safe! Time to invest in some more serious fire extinguishers lol 🤣
Who knew spark and gas would start a fire 🤦
🤣
I'd like to see a follow up video if it was rebuilt. Hopefully there is one! Always learn a ton from your channel! Thank you!
Damn dude, you should of known something like this could happen..glad ur ok..but thats a rookie mistake dude
Strange way of loosening the headbolts joe, but what ever works! haha
Seems like click bait to me.. why would you keep turning an engine that you want "fixed" like that with oil and gas pouring out of it.. doesnt make any sense.. not cool..
Inwas trying to get all the gas out of the cylinder that was stuck in there. Usually I would have the spark plug oit of it. This time I forgot to take it out.
@@2vintage that wasn't all in the cylinder 🤣🤣🤣 it was in the crankcase! You had spun it over repeatedly (doing your usual incorrect compression test) that bike had a stuck float and drained the contents of the tank into the engine. Raw unburnt fuel won't stay in a good cylinder long! Nevermind one as bad as that one(no ring seal)
Wow that was crazy! Glad your safe and the house is ok. Note to self: get new fire extinguisher.
That sucks, but it could have been a lot worse. Also that it was an inexpensive bike $400. But we usually don’t learn from our mistakes as we get older. I am a 56 y.o. Guy that likes to practice wheelies. It’s good until it’s not, lol.
Glad your house didn’t burn down or tens of thousands of dollars of Fire and water damage. You lucked out.
Stay safe young man.
That little bike had no in it's heart lol. Can't save them all! Glad you didn't burn your house down or hurt yourself!
Lmao this is at least the 2nd bike I’ve seen you start on fire in your channel
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What was the first one????
@shayne Donnelly ?
@@johncoleman2495 clearly you have seen all of this muppets videos cause he started a different bike on fire on the garage of the house he had prior to this 1. Not hating just explaining
Whoops that was close!! I've had that happen to me before. It's not fun. I'm glad you got it under control! Keep your exits clear and fire extinguisher close.
Thank God your home and family are safe. I lost my house to a fire 15 years ago, not fun.
Had one of these and it was my baby, that smell of 2t race oil and that awesome powerband, indeed, 89 👌👌 was a good year for kwakka!👍👍💪
