The most important tool in every garage. Two fresh fire extinguishers in every garage on the wall in opposite corners. Nobody plans to have a fire. Glad you're OK. 👍
😂
Steps to fix your bike, 1. Change oil 2. Set it on fire 3. Check piston
🤣🤣🤣
Why bother, at least he has subscribers. Doing shit and getting money for it...
@@walterverheyen1263 "Doing *shit*", yes.

@@1damghost buhahaha 😅
This is what we call a "learning moment." When fuel comes pouring out of everywhere, don't keep kicking the bike over. And 1 is none and 2 is 1. Props for posting this. Safety 3rd
Not just the spark plug. When you have a gas spill, never spin motor . Plug wire with no plug can spark, points can spark, any short in wiring can spark . Clean up gas spill before energizing electrical system .
Ya thats just common sense I belive
Points its a 12volt system what you going on about not 6volt
Yeah I’m sure he knows that, he said he forgot but he usually takes it out
@@dtacol2080 12 volt system can use points .
@@Ja-fh8io he must not have common sense because he did it .
What a shocker!?! Who else thought it was flammable 😆🤦♀️
Haha your so funny
Wow that oil looks pretty thin, almost like gas. Maybe that's why it's coming from up there?!?
I know I'll put an oil pan under it, then I'll just *WHOOSH*
Fuck, Fuck, FUCK!
Was honest mistake there could happen anyone
@@conrod5691 What is an honest mistake? Can you tell me what a dishonest mistake is?
@@dirtygarageguy a mistake that only an idiot would be able to do.
Glad you are ok. You were so lucky not to be burnt. My dad had massive facial, hand and leg burns from a set of Husky cases he was washing off in a bowl filled with gas, a fluorescent light ignited the fumes. It’s often the most mundane tasks that present unforeseen dangers.
i love how he put the bike out before the fire inside the house...a true rider lol...glad you are ok
I knew that was going to happen as soon as I seen that gas coming out. Glad everyone is safe
You knew that because of the thumbnail.
Wow, that escalated very fast, glad you put the fire out and everyone is safe!
Never a dull moment on 2 vintage kids, maybe a small metal building about 200 yards from the house in the future. Food for thought !
Worst case scenario, use Kawasaki for parts, sell it as is, or part it out.
This is why I have 3 fire extinguishers in my shop. Things catch on fire. Glad you reacted well, and don't get all pissed off. Great, calm demeanor.
It’s a good thing you didn’t try spraying the oil with the water. Glad your alright man
The bike warned you 3 times. I can't believe you kept spinning it.
I believe he learned his lesson. But I actually agree somewhat. Gas, stale or not, is still flammable.
EXACTAMUNDO!!!!!!
Gotta have dramatic content like the word "almost".
Exactly! Why keep cranking after it puked out a liter of flammable oil? An obvious sign other things needed fixed before you decide to crank it again for another 100mph....
yes i was thinking the same why not just empty the gastank
And the 2022 darwin award goes to??? 2 VIntage congrats 👏
🤣
That scared the crap out of me just watching it. Very glad you're ok and at least know what caused it, thankfully you contained the situation. You can never have enough fire extinguishers, buy loads, love your videos.
What a complete and utter shock that pouring a flammable liquid all over the place with a spark plug firing could possibly result in a fire?
LOL
Next we'll learn high enough compression can generate enough heat to ignite oil/diesel!
@@alexmaclean1 he is the dumbest mechanic on yt
Thanks for posting this Joe. Gotta love critics that try to pile on as if you needed someone to point out the mistake and what could have happened. We’ve all made dumb mistakes, not all of us publish them so others can learn from them. Love your channel!
Yes I agree so much
I would have freaked out but you put the fire out and continued to work on the bike. You are something special.
Thanks for sharing. Definitely a lesson to be learned. Think I would have kept this video to myself and started off with,”bought this bike from a idiot who burned the bike up”.
Live and learn Joe. I'm sure you won't do that again. Next time you see gas spilling out hopefully you won't keep that drill on. Just stop and tear it down. Sparks can come from many places, like the electric drill for example. Very dangerous. Glad you were ok and the house was ok.
KX 80 is the first bike that I learned to ride when I was very young. The first time I rode it I popped the clutch and it wheelied over on me, and then I was very nervous until my mom showed me how to use the clutch, and then I rode all day everyday. My mom had to show me how to use the clutch because my dad passed away when I was 2. KX 80 is an Awesome Bike.
Sorry to hear about your father 🙏🙏
@@ThaGoy Hey, Thanks a Lot. Have a Good Day.
Let us all take a lesson from this! Thanks for the small sacrifice, Joe!
Consider it a very good lesson learned. A very small price to pay for learning and showing your viewers what can REALLY happen when you get a spark involved with some gas fumes ... or any other kind of volatile fumes. I love the thumbnail that you chose for the video. You don't see that every day! Great videos! Keep up the good work! Totally entertaining.
Well we know it has spark. { Had Spark }. Glad you and the house is ok.
🤣
There’s been times I questioned your choices but this one seemed obvious what you did was sabotage. Oil and fuel oozing out of the engine and you kept spinning it faster.
Shit happens not thinking ahead wanting to clear out the oil and gas quickly. Could have forgot the plug in the ignition coil
@@gabe10222 Are you special?
@@dirtygarageguy are you
He's a little slow. Give him a break
So what you think you're perfect? We've all done Something that was a big stupid mistake. It doesn't have to be the same thing I'm sure you've done something stupid before I'm sure of it.
That was awesome! It also taught me to clear a path to get my projects out of the garage in the future.
That sucks. Make sure you get a current fire extinguisher and some kitty litter for spilled oil.
The best part was when he used the hose to put the bike out but left the garage floor burning 😅 this guy lol
Righhtt!?!??
I mean when you saw gas steadily flowing out of the engine you didn't think maybe I should stop? Good grief!
🤣
😂😂😂🤣 could hear Con rod bearing when you first turned it over can’t beat a good bonefire
So funny. Shit loads of fuel and a bunch of metal causing friction lol!!! This guys a top mechanic remember! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Everyone’s a genius after the event , pretty sure we have all been complacent . All kudos for showing
Hope everything's good Joe! accidents happen glad the house and everyone's okay! sending love from Scotland!
Gas fumes are not to be messed with, any situation where gas is continuously evaporating is an absolute red flag, glad you’re ok.
Very explosive been there done that burns up my arm
Man that was a close one!! I’m glad you’re ok! My grandparents lost their house that way except with a car
Pretty cool little bike love the Vids keep up the good work man lotta hard work I’ve watched you from the beginning
Oh man thank God you're okay Bud, looks like a parts bike now 😉
thats very scary!! im so glad that you managed to put it out and no one got hurt!!
Sorry that happened! Glad everything (besides that bike) is ok
Happens to the best of us. We learn from our mistakes, glad ur safe, like u said the bikes replaceable.
It could have been worse! Once you have a close call you’ll always be ready if it ever were to happen again. Or not to get in the situation again. Glad you and the house isn’t damaged. How ironic you heard sirens right when this is happening too. Great safety video!
Dang I felt like I wanted to jump in and help you put the fire out,Glad you all are okay and your house. Stay safe and keep a few fire extinguisher around👍🏼👍🏼
Engine being turned over with a drill, fuel spilling out, spark plug out and attached to the HT lead...
Beyond moronic...
That sucks and it's a tough lesson learned. Hopefully this serves as a reminder to anyone working on their bikes or quads or any equipment for that matter to remove the spark plug if they find themselves in a similar situation. I'm glad your house didn't burn down and you were able to put it out relatively quickly.
A high majority of the people don't sell good quality items for hardly any good reasons
Well, removing the spark plug doesnt solve it. The boot will still spark. Any shorted wire on the bike can spark, metal to metal can spark even the drill sparks inside when using! You dont spin an engine EVER with any type of gas spill present. He was dumb for doing it and you're not much better thinking removing the plug wouldve removed the danger. It's common sense stuff here bud.
Pretty much everyone else makes mistakes
No one is perfect
Hopefully he has learnt from the mistake of
Plus I think that the bike was a no win situation from the start
The seals .
It needed a total engine rebuilding.
Maybe the next person might own a similar bike and use it for spare parts.
Safety , measures ....
Glad you were able to get that under control without injuries or a bigger loss .
That was different I was watching you fixing bike then I see you running for your life still great video U saved the house and half of the bike good job
Now that’s a way to break in the new house! All jokes aside glad that the only thing damaged was the bike. That sucks because I have a 1989 KX80 I completely restored and I know how hard to find and rare those parts are becoming. Took me months to source those side plastics. Hoping to see you fix it up. It looks like it had great potential. Mine was in far worse shape. If not then you’ll easily make your money back with the parts left.
This is a crazy video! I would have never thought about that spark plug catching I forgot you even had it in still, but yes keep doing these videos I really enjoy watching and helping out the channel!!
Handled well, level headed, calm as not many could be in the situation, and quick to think while recording. I bet you invest in 5 or more extinguisher now. Double check your home insurance!
💯
Not the dream house!!!!!!!!!
Happened to me once with a dr650. So glad yours worked out OK.
who ties your shoe laces in the morning?
I guess that's what you call a learning curve project. You might have lost a bike but you certainly learnt a few lessons. It also made for a good video but please don't be tempted to do it again! I love your videos by the way. I can sit watching you fix bikes for hours. Thanks
Man that was crazy!!! Glad you're ok and you were able to get the fire under control in no time. Good quick thinking...sucks that happened tho!
Why the hell would u keep spinning it over when it was pissing out petrol and oil
More money than brains
Yeah after he kept spinning the engine over with fuel soaking absolutely everything, knowing there was a spark plug firing away also!
Jeeze
Wow, insane video Joe. Thankful you’re alright and the house as well.
Glad you're ok and you taught me a lesson and I'm going to purchase new fire extinguishers.
You got burnt on that one Joe, pretty much everything is junk.
Who knew spark and gas would start a fire 🤦
🤣
Just glad you was ok. Always have a selection of extinguishers 🙏 lesson learnt 👊❤️🇬🇧
Wow all the couch know it alls lmao! Pretty awesome you got it on video, good thing you and your house are safe! Time to invest in some more serious fire extinguishers lol 🤣
Keep a bucket of sand and remember it’s not a complete lost you can still sell the seat and the forks and the plastics witch aren’t damaged the wheels so don’t lose hope bro💪🏽
@martin barr's CRF450 yeah it’s better than nothing you will get more than £20
@martin barr's CRF450 the rear plastics mate not the full set the plastics which haven’t been affected
Seems like you handled it fairly well. Love your videos bro. I always have a bucket of sand around for my oil spills in the shed. Helps to put fires out as well lol.
You're delusional
Next upload.....
Joe shopping for extinguishers in home depot
you have always been pretty complacent with gas and oil, glad your ok and no damage was done to you or your new house. massive lesson learnt.
shopping list
fire extinguisher
spill kit
metal containers
fire extinguisher
may as well get another fire extinguisher
bikes not dead, make a nice project, make a harness everything else is replaceable
nice introduction to the neighbourhood
Why on earth would you keep cranking it over with gas flying everywhere and the spark plug still attached. Common Joe you know better than that.
He knows better now.
Forgot that I didn't take the plug out. Usually I take the plug off the coil right away.
@@2vintage you live you learn
@@2clappedout477lol 🤔🤔😮🤔😮🤔🤔
@@2vintage that wont always help , it can spark from elsewhere, and also get some big rags, if oil goes on fire, wet them up and lay them over the oil, smother it, get sand in buckets, if it happens again which no doubt it will , be calm, you almost fell down the steps in a panic which would have hurt and maybe not been able to put the bike out .
Glad you, the family and the house are all okay. Big lesson learnt for us all.
Happens to the best of us bud, glad you & your new home is all good👍 gotta get you an emergency spill / fire kit for stuff like that in the future
I had a 88/89 kx80 big wheel when I was 13 & this brings back a lot of great memories of that bike except the part where caught on fire. Thanks!
As soon as you started spinning the engine by the flywheel, I was like, "I hope that spark plug isn't still on the boot". Dang, that sucks. You avoided a catastrophe though!
Hahaha. Based on the thumbnail and title I think we knew it was lol. I was like, OK. I guess this is the fire part. Glad you’re ok Joe.
Pretty scary, it’s an oversight I can see a lot of people having while tinkering. Makes me want to invest more into extinguishers and such. Glad like you said there was no oil or fuel on your hands/gloves. Count our blessings.
might I suggest 2 wifi cameras in the garage where you do your work just so if worst case happens someone will know what happened. glad you and home came out unhurt.
While I would have liked to see the footage, the cut from a gas spewing motor to a pile of fire was hilarious 😂 thanks for the laugh.
Why did you keep spinning it over with gas POURING out of the plug hole? Stop immediately!. Also, every shade tree mechanic must have a WORKING fire extinguisher at hand. Fairly cheap lesson- could have been much worse.
Maybe the house is haunted... First mother in law falls breaks her arm now this... Well happy your ok and the house is also.
You may be right!
Some bad MOJO for sure going on.
That little bike had no in it's heart lol. Can't save them all! Glad you didn't burn your house down or hurt yourself!
So glad you’re safe. Lesson learned!
I don't normally comment but u trashed that engine when ( gas) came out u should of stopped spinning the motor and done a rebuilt what did u think would happen?
And that water pump being rusted is why you don’t run water in the cooling system
Why not elaborate on what you run as coolant?
Thank God your home and family are safe. I lost my house to a fire 15 years ago, not fun.
Wow that went up fast , wouldn’t have been a great start to the new house , glad you sorted it quickly 👍this was one of the first bikes I learnt to ride on as a teenager really quick for how small they are 😃😃👍
almost like petrol/gasoline vapours are very easy to ignite from a naked-flame or spark/arc.
Honestly, there isn't a person who works on engines that hasn't had to deal with a fire at least once. Always a terrifying way to learn an important lesson. Haha! Glad you're OK. The prison bike is spicy.
I've worked on engines many times, no fires by accident, because I'm not a RETARD.
Anyone else think he might have set fire to the bike on purpose? For content 🤷🏼♂️😅
probably, I probably wouldn't want the squid working on my bikes either..
Yep funny how he didn't have it on film and the bike stand was outside with the bike. Did he take the bike of the stand then Pick up the stand and run outside with that aswell. So set up
@@stevewickos84 how tf would I know mate 😅
Yes ha. The card clearly wasn’t entirely corrupted as the footage of him spreading fuel everywhere in the seconds prior was intact. So it follows the footage of it going up in flames would be intact, it would only be the bit after he knocked the cam over was missing. Also where’s the panicked tyre treads from the puddle of oil heading out the garage. Maybe he carried it over his head Spartacus style. Naaah. I think it’s a good stage but I’m not buying this one 😄. Great channel though. Love watching it.
There’s a bike literally across the doorway where the bike was being worked on…
That little show has city boy written all over it. Lmao
🤣
Was surprised to see all that gas stay in the cylinder and not end up in the bottom end. At least it turned out the way it did. You stayed calm and took care of business.
I would’ve panicked for sure
@@CoralReefkid 🤭
thank god you and your home is ok man. dont worry about that bike. thats donzo
When it started puking oil and gas out of the case that was your sign to stop. You had the plug wire on the plug sparking… not good dude…. You need to learn how to properly check out a bike…. First sign of fuel that you can’t control…. Stop! Oh well… nice $450 dollar charcoal briquette! Too bad…. Watch some pros work on bikes buddy…. I’ve restored numerous bikes and have wrenched on bikes for 35 yrs…. Learn to properly inspect and work on a bike… safely.
Dudeeeeee wtf 😫 time for a few fire extinguisher to keep around lol.
I'd like to see a follow up video if it was rebuilt. Hopefully there is one! Always learn a ton from your channel! Thank you!
here's a wrenching tip, whenever a basket case comes in with spray painted parts, just skip diagnostics and go straight for the tear down 🔧

wow despite the title i was still caught off guard , kudos to you for the editing lol
I had same thing happen when I was working on my sons goped. Luckily I had stuff nearby to smother it. Good job getting it under control. It’s too bad though, I’m a Kawasaki lover. Keep up good work. Beautiful house btw!!
Seems like click bait to me.. why would you keep turning an engine that you want "fixed" like that with oil and gas pouring out of it.. doesnt make any sense.. not cool..
Inwas trying to get all the gas out of the cylinder that was stuck in there. Usually I would have the spark plug oit of it. This time I forgot to take it out.
@@2vintage that wasn't all in the cylinder 🤣🤣🤣 it was in the crankcase! You had spun it over repeatedly (doing your usual incorrect compression test) that bike had a stuck float and drained the contents of the tank into the engine. Raw unburnt fuel won't stay in a good cylinder long! Nevermind one as bad as that one(no ring seal)
Accidents do happen. Glad you had a quick way to deal with it. You can never underestimate the importance of an up to date Fire Extinguisher!! Still a good video, stay safe
