Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.
While the music of this band is extremely diverse, this is one of the most unique that Zeppelin ever did.
It's a pre-rap, blues-rap fusion
@@bevmacdonald9008 It's really funky, and heavily influenced by James Brown.
It’s a funk track a la James Brand
@@ekayaniperforms it's James * Brown *, but yes
@@dwaynewladyka577 ...didn't Plant mention something about that in his Digging Deep podcast series? That is a fascinating series, I highly recommend it, I hope he does some more episodes. (Edited for typo)
All the Whole Lotta Love people will never find us here
O.O
Their loss 😊
Aha! There you are! I could barely see over all the Love....but....I ain't gonna tell you one thing' that you really oughtta know...except maybe this: there is no confounded bridge.
conheci Led Zeppelin por Jojo's bizarre Adventures, essa banda é muito foda
@@bevmacdonald9008 Bridge was 1970s Slang for a Hypodermic Needle. No doubt related in some way to Jimi Page's frequent use of Heroin in that time period.
That bassline is just eargasmic. JPJ is amazing.
So underrated, only true Zepp fans will appreciate this 🤘
The truth!
Es una joya, toda la composición bellisima de la canción.
Too right.👍
Greatest rock band of all time and I'm proud to say I've seen them twice
Me too.
Lucky
Saw them 3 times, once front row.
I saw them once, I was 20 feet from the stage and could feel their magnetic presence from there!!

I got to go backstage to many many a great concerts my uncle was a photographer for rolling Stone, so he always got me all access passes, also told me who had the best weed
How can anyone not like this song??? I love that! 😍
100%. Something wrong with you if this song doesn't get you struttin around
My brother, who introduced me to led zep, and is a massive fan, hates this one.. I love it, though..
@Ka ngai che Yeah great album but 3 of their worst songs in a row. From this, Dancing Days, and D'yer Ma'ker or whatever its called.
@@mikek8553 You're insane. Those are all amazing songs.
I was just shouting out loud, "Where's that confounded bridge?!!"
James Brown would be happy that his sound was done by Zep. Love it.
Hugh?
@@Blackboxrecording0Serious kick ass Godfather of soul funk dude read a book!
@@richardgreene7329 James Brown ......fantastic ..no need to read a book to dig his style....
.my post was narrow minded (Rock of the Era)....type thinkin.....I was listening to JB when my elementary peers were singing nursery rhymes...😎
This is truly pure funk!!!
I remember this song from the 1970s, when my dad was driving around in his car. It was on the radio. Such a good song. May John Bonham and Peter Grant rest in peace. Cheers! ✌️
😮yesss
Got to love the wonky Zep take on funk! ‘Where’s that confounded bridge’! A great musical melange, still rooted in the blues, with a touch of prog, and a little spicy jalapeño of humour. What an incredible groop!
Beatles, Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin are the Big Three of Rock N Roll ☮️
Led Zeppelin's music speaks for itself..❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Amen to that.❤
This is off my favorite Led Zeppelin album, hanging out listening to Houses of the Holy, was just another day in the life of the 70’s👏
Is this funk? Jazz fusion? Metal-disco? I don't know. All I know is it's Zepptastic.
I always thot it was the first “ rap “ song….
Corn ball dad joke in 3 2 1....
I started revisiting Led zeppelin at 67. Loved them in youth. The first 15 seconds or so are addicting! But a Good Addiction! Can't stop listening this song. 🎉😂😊
Ditto....been listening to them since I was a kid. Rolling stones and Black Sabbath...Uriah Heap...etc. had older sibs who were into music and it was always on the car radio
There will never be a band like zep ever ever again...the best
I tend to think the same
Have you heard Greta Van Fleet?

Spent last hour listening...I like very much...

Everyone in Baltimore is now asking about that bridge
An excellent deep cut from LZ!
One of the best of ALL time.....
I still haven't found that confounded bridge. Cool Song with Led Zeppelin diving into a little funk. Alway' my favorite band. 👍
La mejor banda de rock de la historia ❤😊

Someone didn't heard Funkadelic
She is the one that makes me jump and shout. Where’s that confounded bridge 😊
Led Zeppelin the Greatest Band !!!
This is one of the led zeppelin songs ever made
The best band ever
I remember playing this on 8 track in my car, 75, and 76 yeah baby! Those were the day,s ya,ll!😊😊
legends 😊❤
I roll through my Led Zeppelin folder on my mp3 at least once a month. Before that it was cd collection, preceeded by album collection. Always drawn to the songs that never got much if any radio play. Those are the soul of Led Zeppelin. The Crunge being a favorite. It has everything wrapped up in a tight 3:15 minute song.
My FAVORITE Zeppelin tune ❤
I grew up withe all albums on 8-tracks and cassettes and discs later again and again until I pass.
Between my husband and myself, we have all their North American released recordings several times over, on vinyls, cassettes, discs and mp3s. But the flaws of 8 track became so quickly apparent, we bought only a very few and no Zep in that format. We haven't gotten any more boxed sets since the new millennium.
Don'tcha just LOVE the scratchy sound of that needle on the ol' vinyl !!
there was an overpass that said "This is that confounded bridge"
It takes a true Zeppelin fan to appreciate this FUNKY-ᗜˬᗜ masterpiece
I'm a true fan. One of my favorites from my FAVORITE group of all time!
James Brown back in the day told me to checkout his favorite Led Zeppelin "The Crung" song on a Houses Of The Holy vinyl LP ❤
A Melhor banda do mundo.
That funk thou.
Thou.
😮
Beatiful
They were giving some praise to funk. It's a wonderful life. Funk.
One of my favorite Zeppelin songs!
Absolutely, Zeppelin best

Have Good day everyone . Always think than these song out of line of these Album , but , must there is same dot of balance between songs . Led Zeppelin is amaizing forever ♥️
Yes!❤

Underrated
Long Live Led Zeppelin! X
this is great song!from Japan
I don't want any The Crunge slander in this comment section! If you think this song are the weakest on HOTH album, you need to check Dazed and Confused live HTWWW 1972 because they played a bit funky section of this song and just WOW. How triple J each on their instruments really LOCKED ON throughout the jam session.

Great music and amazing band !
I love you guys, the sound track of my younger years. Thank you so very much:)
God I love that odd time signature. My favorite Bonham intro. It's so damn badass!
Great album
For all the youngsters out there who never had the opportunity to see Zeppelin live, find yourself a copy of The Song Remains the Same....... that is what you missed. There are many live songs recorded in the movie, and if you watch long enough you can experience the Greatest rock band ever...... Master Jimmy with his Gibson's in tow will show you why people say that all other guitarists follow his lead 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
As a teen in the 90s, I didn't understand the meaning of the 'bridge' reference until I listened to James Brown's 'Sex Machine'. Led Zep's song was funk and since funk was created mostly by James Brown, ergo...
I remember this song especially. They played this on Baltimore, Maryland radio back in the day. It was a black radio station called WEBB and WWIN radio. I was proud because I had already knew the song from this beautiful album. Led Zeppelin always!
Have this album..love it.
Dancing Days follows The Crunge on the Album and it makes you feel so good..."Ah! That's better!". It's like Mandela Effect. =)
..........where's that confounded Bridge!? 🤩
i like it

Bluesy funk😘🔥🔥
My fav song of Zep!
My ears will never recover from this
Bad Ass Funk from Zeppelin !!!
Does it get any better than this????!!!!!!!!
John paul jones is such an under rated bass player.

*The Crunge* ( accurate lyrics)
I wanna tell ya about my good thing
I ain't a-disclosin' no names, but he sure is a good friend
and I ain't gonna tell ya where he come from
but if I tell ya, you won't come again, ow, hey
I ain't gonna tell ya nothin', but I do well, but I know, yeah
Now, let me tell you about my girl
I open up a newspaper and what do I see
Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah, see my girl, ah-ah-ah, lookin' at me
Ooh, and when she walks, she walks
and let me tell ya, when she talks, she talks
and when she looks me in the eye
She's my baby, lord, I wanna make her mine, yeah
Ooh, tell me, baby, what you want me to do
And you want me to love ya, love some other man
Ooh, ain't gonna call me Mr. Pitiful, no
Uh, I don't need no respect from nobody, no, no
Ah-ah-ah, no, no, ah-ah-ah
I ain't gonna tell ya nothin', I ain't gonna tell ya no more, no
She's my baby, let me tell ya that I love her so, ow, ow
She's the woman I really wanna love, and let me tell ya more
Woo-ooh, she's my baby, let me tell ya, she lives next-door
She's the one a-woman, the one a-woman that I know
I ain't goin', I ain't goin', I ain't gon' tell
I ain't gon' tell ya one thing that ya really oughta know
But, she's my lover-baby and I love her so
and she's the one that really makes me whirl and twirl
and she's the kind of lover that makes me fill the whole world
and she's the one who really makes me jump and shout
Oh, a-she's the kind of girl, I know what it's all about
Take it home, take it, take it, take it
Ah, excuse me, a-will ya excuse me

It’s not surprising that LZ was one of Prince’s favourite bands.
...and on that day The Black Crowes were born, kids, when "D'yer Mak'er" and "The Crunge" loved each other and made a single together.
Oh yeah..James Brown in 7/4..Bonham unfuckingbelievable. Plant, gotta love home. What a great band.
I used to hate this song, now I really don’t know WHAT I was thinking!!!
