Really great info, Tanya! I read from Dr. Gundry explaining how quinoa used to be eaten, which was by fermenting and breaking down the lectins. All grains contain lectins and they were not our natural diet for most of human evolution, and therefore, it makes sense that it wouldn't be included in Paleo. Such great info! What about tomatoes? I saw in some of your videos you eat tomato sauce, but they were not ancient foods for humans.

Great video Tanya! I cycle between keto and paleo..grains are definately bad for my gut. Eating real, whole foods is the way to go.

Hello Tanya! You seem like such a nice person. I’m looking to debate people on Veganism. Would you be open to debating the claim that if you’re not vegan you support animal abuse?

I'm intererested in a paleo type diet mainly because of my digestive disorder. Problem I have with it is it's based on macro evolution which I don't believe in. I believe if the pseudocereals are prepared properly Ie soaking and well cooking them they can be consumed without any issue. I believe that should be common practice amongst our nation anyway which unfortunately it isn't hence we have issues. There are ancient civilizations that did practice this so it's forgotten knowledge. A survivalist like paleo does not consume agricultured plants, but what do you say when that plant is so closely related to a wild ancestor? For instance Quinoa - is basically fat hen (Chenopodium album) that grows wild in wastelands even where I am in the Uk. Don't you think our ancestors in late fall early winter when all the leaves had gone would have taken the oppotunity to gather the seeds? Buckwheat is closely related to dock. Now I know these pseudocereals are still cultivated, but really what is the big difference in cellular structrure? apparantly there not technically classified as grains anyway but seeds. Now these plants do seems to cause me digestive upset (IF I don't soak them before hand and well cook them), but it's interesting how that removes the lectins and phytic acid to unlock more nutriants. So don't you think this would have been common practice amongst our ancestors anyway? like how the nightshade vegetables need peparing properly because most are toxic. So really I think it comes down to being mindful about the food and how you prepare it. Ancient grains have actually been found in early humans anyway just debunking evolution. I believe ancient grains - Einkorn and Emmer which are so close to the original wild wheat are no problem to consume if prepared properly into flour. It's the hybridized modern wheat that is making everyone sick and having people to result to all this diet restriction madness!

Really? I enjoy so much eating quinoa, lentils... You clarify the reasons so well though, I might reconsider it.

It's totally not necessary if you do feel it has any negative consequences to your health. Well prepared lentils and quinoa will make a positive difference as well. :)

@@tanyaannn that's great! Lentils are such a great source of iron for me. It would have been so hard to give them up!
