Love that you gave a shout out to”its just bodybuilding”..lots of quality content and deserve a bigger audience. Respect…
The different training philosophies are so interesting. I know for me, Arthur Jones and Mike Mentzer really pioneered the high intensity style of training, and then Dorian came along and really made it popular. Then you have Milos who does endless sets, and Jay Cutler who doesn’t go to failure. It is, as you say, finding what works best for you, and never being too stubborn to try something different.
Dusty's strength is beyond humbling. He's a great guy.
I watch your videos every day while I am at my desk working. I will focus on the vids that have to do with what I am training that day. Incorporating your training philosophy has taken my pump and workouts to a different level. The funny thing is now in the gym I look around and think to myself..."why are you doing that....Nope, that's dumb...You should do that different...Are we in a race to our rep range...If you lifted that correctly you couldn't lift that much weight". Been training for 25 years and I am still learning. Thank you for putting this stuff out there.
This guy has the best and most interesting and educational videos on UA-cam hands down
I was lucky enough to be apart of the journey to the Nationals. Training with Darren and Mike everyday. I remember Darren's constantly getting in Mike's ear chirping him about Ron lol on big sets and with him posing get him all riled up 😆 Mike's the real deal , total pro, tremendous knowledge.
This is such an important message! Awesome content Mike! love it! Loved you on the podcasts youve been doing as well!
I don't have IG so I can't follow mike. But I still want the damn merch lol
All Bro-Mo, I connect with like 90%+ of your philosophies in muscle growth. Been training like this for 10 years plus.
Always great information !
This is great info. I feel like this confirms some issues I’m failing at/could improve upon
Mike this was one of the best ones yet. You had me dying 😂. Shooting straight facts.
That podcast with IJBBwas awesome. All your videos kick ass and using information you out out has jumped my progress and fire up after 32 years training. Much love, keep killin it all.
This might be the most informative video on weight training I've ever seen.
Very well explained and demonstrated. Thanks man
📠 as usual!!! Best in UA-cam at dropping knowledge
Thanks for these Mike 🤙🏽
I think it’s great that you’re really getting out there Mike. People need to see that bodybuilding training is supposed to be for a purpose. A lot of trainers throw in freestyle training with heavy weight + light weights just to mix things up. You show that people need to FEEL every single rep to a point, 100 percent connected, and it has to fucking HURT. Like you said, in the end are we trying to build a amazing physique, or are we just trying to get stronger?
Mastered this thing moving on to the next one😂😂😂
I appreciate Mike 👌🏼
Great comment about super sets. I pretty much always do that. I don’t want to wait longer than it takes for for my cardiovascular system to recover from sets. That’s why staying busy is the best. The most extreme version being of course Milos giant sets. Which are awesome, as long as the gym is empty. Lol
the session on think big media was cool🎉💪🏻😎
Great video like always big man! I remember the first time I saw Dusty was a video for Dante where I think he was eating BARBIE CEREAL or some crap lol. " THESE ARE WHERE THE GAINS COME FROM." he said. 😝
Also, that was a great comment about the gym pins. It truly is. They fully believe if they lift the most out of everyone, they will be the biggest. Without realizing that we are all different and what one body needs, another will not just like with every other aspect of bodybuilding. The real challenge is who can look the most muscular and lift the smallest weights in the gym. This whole hard gainer mindset, I never get that either. Both are super extreme and negative. It ends up with machines broken because people are trying to hang too many weights under the stack. Without thinking objectively, the stock is not made for that much weight because if it were, it probably would have it on it. I had a chest press snapping while I used it with the stack; indeed, nothing was added and it still snapped!
It's Just Bodybuilding is a great podcast
"If you're trying to get more blood into the muscle you're training you're trying to fill up that muscle...in doing that you will have to lift progressively heavier weight to elicit the pump."
Go slow and feel the muscle work…pumping as much blood in the muscle as possible. What a novel idea. I wonder who said that a 1,000 times?? Preach on brotha. 👍
What camera and lens is this filmed with?
Loved you on the podcast brother. Real wycked fan here 🤙
Always fun
Incredible tutelage that every lifter needs to hear 19:00
Great video Mike!! If I'm trying to bring up my upper chest do you think it's more beneficial to start with incline dumbbell press or start with a different exercise first to get blood in the muscle? Say a machine press first.
Hey Mike when you going to put out a training program? And also what about a video for building muscle over 50 👍
I listen to my body and work for the pump. Occasionally I push it and really grind the heavy weight but only occasionally.
We need a t-shirt "Wicktimized".
Today am rocking on Quads. 🇬🇧
I wanna see Mike's reaction to all these fake failure tik toks 🤣
We need a shirt with “Wycked Mode”
Another good video as always.
When I had clients, I used to tell them don't worry about the "how many reps, sets and range of motion BS". I told them to give themselves the time and get good at it all, and then find what works for them.
Some clients blew up with 1-2 worksets with slow positives and negatives and others blew up with a 1-1-1 tempo.
Just find what works for you but you need to give yourself the time to discover that
Mike explains the thesis of weight training at 17:53
It took me four years to actually know what failure muscular and your nervous system to complete failure just now I am implementing high intensity training Dorian Yates I'm doing the 12th week program and a month of passive program full recovery of my nervous system thank you are full of knowledge and wisdom I also implement your style of training technique
I think a series of how many sets you think we need to failure per muscle group would be great information
You missed the whole point of the video
Big Ron’s gym tour series is 🔥
Is it better to lift for aesthetics or is it better to lift for size? Once the shape reaches a certain size does it not look strange to gain too much more? To me big muscles look inflamed and not very attractive. Also all the guys look the same in a bad way. Thanks for your comments.
Had me dead at the end, cracks me up when I am doing my accessories in the gym and every bro and their cousin uses absurd amounts of weight on the machines.
I am over here benching in the super low 500s in competition and using half the stack, or less, on almost every machine. Work in with someone and they are always outlifting me. Shits crazy.
The row is a dead stop or a pendlay row
Do you have merch
Please restock your apparel!!
I’m new to mikes channel, is he speaking about someone specifically?
13:39 - 13:45 needs to be on a shirt next drop lol
Is there anything you don't superset?
Trevor Smith God rest his soul once said there are many paths up the mountain.
In his prime this guy was a true mass monster and insane condition
Do you sell that shirt ?
The fishing rod, not the fish. Thank you, Mike.
Listening to this guy talk you could tell he played football lol
Hmm could anyone provide the names mike was referring to ? its pretty hard to follow with just Ron, etc

@@dustinchestnutt4502thanks ! 11months too late, its odd I didn’t get notification 😢 really sorry
@@intensity.density2208thank you ! My sincere apologies, some how that comment, I wasn’t notified at all appreciate guys !
Dealing with a shoulder issue, do you have any advice for hitting chest without pressing movements?
Y'ever heard of flys?
@@FartCakes no what’s that?
Interested to hear someone else's take on that as well. I workout at home and have limited equipment and have been running this every 3 days or so....
Flyes:
decreasing rep ranges for sets of 30, 20, 10 - for me, that means adding 10 lbs or so
Dumbell Pullovers:
stay tight in the back/shoulders and keep elbows straight
keep the ROM strategic - not too low and not too far up
It took time to feel chest pulling through and contracting at the top
I like giant sets with a rep goal of 30, when I can do all 30 in one set easily, go up to next weight
This lights my chest up and grows it without pressing while giving shoulders, elbows and triceps a break
JP: not going to failure every set? Hold my beer
You really got mad and blocked me?
So you train to failure or don't ?
Listen to it again until you understand
@@theelement6255 he didn’t mention it
@@orbarak123 he did. Many people got it. That’s why I’m saying go back and listen carefully
9:53 - 10:41
@@Yeomannn Thank you! so basically he does train to failure on the last set of each exercise after he does like 2-3 warmup sets
