Two NASA astronauts, Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, are currently aboard the International Space Station and have been stuck there due to issues with the Starliner spacecraft. NASA and Boeing say the astronauts are not technically "stranded," but their return timeline remains uncertain. Why have the astronauts come home yet? Are Boeing and NASA hiding something? For people who don't know.
NASA gave grants to two private companies Boeing and SpaceX to develop a crew capsule so that US can send astronauts and supplies to the space station.
SpaceX has already developed their capsule and has flown multiple crew missions successfully.
Boeing's project kept getting delayed and had few issues in their initial tests and now this failure.
Something is seriously wrong at Boeing. I would avoid flying in their newer planes.

I spent 20+ years as a Test Engineer at a company that supplies space-qualified components whose failure would be catastrophic. This is inexcusable.
There is no substitute for good workmanship.
While booking flights people these days see if that’s not a Boeing airplane and these guys dared to board Boeing test flight to space 🤦🏻♂️
Unfortunately, they didn't get the choice. Plus, they were assigned over 4yrs ago before many of the quality issues came to light!

The toilet on the US side is broken as well as some other things. If something serious happens, they can retreat to the Russian or other side of the space station. The navigation and propulsion part of the space station was built and maintained by Russia. They wanted to get out of it and join the Chinese space station but was asked to stay another couple of years because nobody knows how to maintain or use the engines.
At least it was built by a diverse team of people.
I know it comes natural and i know it's work in progress, but try not being so inanely dense.

Elon and SpaceX are American only. Why will they be embarrassed? Nasa infact does a lot of missions with SpaceX.
NASA/Boeing has acknowledged the helium leak issue. The helium manifold was closed, stopping the leak. At last report Starliner had 10x the amount of helium needed to return. Starliner’s battery can be recharged by the ISS. Their rationale is logical as conducting tests on a spacecraft while its in space makes sense and is an opportunity to take full advantage of.
If it were that simple of a fix, they would be home by now. They're facing 60 days trapped on space station. This is the second time in two years we've had astronauts trapped. Russia brought home the astronaut last year, I bet they will be bringing these two home as well. A seven day trip has lasted two months so far. LOL.
We pray that they will be brought safe home to their families soon😢😮❤❤❤

It is the job of media and they are doing well. It's not about knowing more, it is about common sense. If a mission is supposed to last for 1 week and the crew is getting stuck for more than a month, there is a need of questions to be asked. We all did not even know something like this was happening. If media is not there, you guys can imagine how the world would function. It's like committing something without the need of giving an explanation.
That would be really scary, to be stranded in space, kind of like being stuck on earth…..

All those who give big talks about why there is no quick solution should study science or major astrophysics or maths. Its difficult to design all the technology for space work. Surely the brilliant people at NASA, Boeing, Spacex are trying their best to figure out something to bring the astronauts back safely.
Leave NASA alone. It knows what it is doing. Palki, when you were in wion, you also laughed at Artemis 1 when the lauch was delayed by months. Artemis 1 became a historic success.

NASA is run by managers who know little about space, and limited companies can build building spacecraft; Boeing, Blue Origen, and NASA cannot. I wish that spaceX would bill Boeing for rescuing and NASA should bill Boeing for renting space to these stranded astronauts.
