      Santificado sea Tu Nombre.
      Venga Tu reino. Hágase Tu voluntad así en la tierra como en el cielo. Danos hoy nuestro pan de cada día. Perdona nuestras ofensas, así como también nosotros perdonamos a los que nos ofenden. No nos dejes caer en la tentación y líbranos del mal.

    • @eltmg7135
      @eltmg7135 6 років тому +12

      There is no up or down there at all. It's only a matter of perspective, the ISS has a floor, a ceiling, and two walls, and most of the equipment they work with is on the sides, but if you were in an empty box in orbit, with no windows, you would absolutely have no idea where the earth is, or where up and down is. In fact, when you sleep and you wake up again, you don't even know if the wall you are facing is the same one you faced yesterday. So the only reason the ISS even has a ceiling is because they orient most of their equipment in the same orientation, so if you were "upside down", most of the laptops and flags and so on would be upside down, but some things are on the wall, like a lifting machine, when you just have to turn around and it feels the same as it did before, but the others see you standing on the wall. That's why once you're inside the sleeping chamber, you don't even realize where the chamber is, especially if you close the "door"

      Same as on earth, but because they sometimes float upside down you have to perform all tasks in reverse. So if you want to print some excel tab you have to print it first and then write in the program what you want to print, but you have to put it there and then delete it, so in the end you have an empty sheet. And the next step is to start Excel the first time and finally to turn on the computer. ;)

    Fun fact: There was a Habitation Module planned to go on the ISS. It would've included a shower, bigger sleeping bunks, more excercise equipment, better toilet with a washbasin and other things to improve the quality of life up there. Unfortunately, it was cancelled due to lack of money.

    Can I ask someone more educated than me(because I assume someone here is), what happens to the water they DO lose? Like, are the electronics all protected just in case, or is there a system sucking drifting water out of the air around them or...? Idk, maybe the bathroom chamber is entirely separate and specially designed to handle floating water? Anyone know?

    • @Chrochella
      @Chrochella 7 років тому +7

      The Stoned Parrot The Water Recycling System captures any water particles that's in the air, purifies it and recycles it into usable water. There's a video on beer that explains it in more detail.

    • @eltmg7135
      @eltmg7135 6 років тому +4

      Both actually. The ISS is mostly water proof, because they always lose some water somewhere, they also sweat when training, they have to wash their hair, and so on. Also, there is sort of a vacuum cleaner constantly active, but that probably doesn't have enough suction to suck in the water bubbles. However, eventually the water will turn into the humidity in the air, and at that point it gets purified and recycled by the water recycling system, which basically just sucks up the air in the station and filters out the water in it, very, very roughly said. So every drop of water they lose will eventually be put back into the system for drinking water.

    One question, what about stomach acids? If it is assumed that there is 0 gravity, it would have to come out of the mouth and the drops of water would not have to fall since there is no gravity.

    • @dansv1
      @dansv1 2 роки тому

      The lower esophageal sphincter (LES) is a 1-way valve at the top of the stomach. It keeps food and stomach acid from flowing backward.
