The names of the Rovers are perfecting for exploring the cold, harsh environment of space. It’s so much more inspiring to hear a Rover named “Perseverance” exploring Mars then it is to hear “XN-198” exploring Mars.

Curiosity landed in Gale and it has about the same speed (slightly less). A meetup between Perseverance and Curiosity isn't going to happen. Jezero is about 2,300 miles (3,700 km) from Gale Crater, which Curiosity has been exploring since 2012 and traveled 15.35 miles. But Perseverance should encounter future rovers, as Mark explained in the video!

Spending the Lionshare of my life living close to Edwards I have lots of stories of the fun things I’ve got to bear witness to throughout the last 53 years (the twin sonic booms from the handful of STS missions that landed at Edwards were beyond description in terms of volume in flat out gnarliness) this type of Contant is so exciting I can’t ever watch it just once. Plus when you say the first person to set foot on Mars is alive today (though I know it won’t be me) I am rooting for whoever they are with everything I believe in….kick butt content!!

I really love that old video of him watching the rover land in real time haha, it's so great seeing how stoked he is
Isn't it funny how humanity is making these monumental achievements, how he and his colleagues helped to design and create firsthand one of the only devices sent to a completely different planet..
And yet there's still a cult of clowns in this day and age that believe in a flat earth hahaha
So mark and the millions of people working in this field and related ones are all in on some master conspiracy because..reasons hahaha
I know they're just insanely ignorant & uneducated people and just buy into rants by nutjobs on youtube
But it's so funny to see in marks videos hope for the future of humanity among the stars..
At the same time we have these insane luddite cults
