I think you would need to be careful to buy one in good condition with service history that has been looked after. And keep aside some money for repairs if and when they are needed :) Thanks!
If you love suboptimal then yes, buy it. Otherwise a 3 or 5 Series Touring would be : cheaper, much nicer to drive, more comfortable, faster, uses less fuel, better for the environment, and classier.
I went from an E70 X5 M sport to an XC70 -16, back to an E70 X5 Sport. XC70 is nice and all but its not as cheap in parts and service as you might think compared to an X5. Insurance, sure.
I wouldn't be a big fan of BMW because of reliability and cost of repairs. but if i buy an suv probably would be a Vitara only weights 1.2 tons lighters then some hatchbacks and you can get good mpg and they have a great boxy van type shape and you can get it in all wheel drive as well
If I was looking for an E70, I'd probably go for the base RWD 3 litre petrol... The others are just too risky... I do however prefer the E70's interior to the old E53 X5 as it just looks nicer and is better quality in my opinion... Great review 👍
Cheers Martin. I couldn't find any information about a RWD model, I wonder if they didn't sell it in the UK. The interior is really nice in this X5. I've not made my mind up on what I think about the E53 exterior looks vs this car - I think the old one looks like a big toy, which is kinda cool. The E70 looks more like a grown-up proper modern car 😄

Hello JJ, let me ask you a question. What is the value of this 13 year E70 BMW X5 used car in the UK? I bought this American version in 13 years and have been using it in China without any problems, but it has been a long time and I have been considering whether to sell it! Questions from China.

Yes, it's not a car for you if you don't have the funds to maintain it/keep it on the road. Though not sure I agree about it being the worst car to buy haha

The 2nd Generation E70 BMW X5 2006 - 2013 Were Great.
Hi JJ, thanks for your video. I’m negotiating to buy a BMW X5 2009 3.0d x drive wagon 7 seater on 131k odometer. Price AU$12k. What do you suggest?
I'd be interested to know what you ended up deciding on that
Sir JJ, would you think buying BMW 2007-2011 as second hand now will still be good idea? Love you video!

I was going to get a BMW X5
But looking at parts, servicing cost, insurance and fuel.
I bought a Volvo XC70 with 18k miles.
👍🏻
That's a good shout, I do like an XC70
that car is damn ugly

E70 diesel has the M57 diesel engine which is probably the most reliable diesel of all time
@@Tele302 Not really... The internals are strong but they do suffer from some pretty big issues, which is why I'd rather go for a petrol model...

Maybe the hard ride is because of those awful runflat tyres. I bought a 2012 earlier this year. Got regular tyres. Great car.
There's a Saab for everyone! A few others have said that about steering, I guess all the Saabs I drive have broken steering...
Same here .I went for the Michelin defenders great tires
Thank you JJ, your reviews are always on point.
Thank you :)

Thanks Tony :)
Hi, which one is better to buy e70 3.0d 2007-2010 or 2010-2013? Thanks
still a e70 so is the same thing
Lci without doubt. zf8 transmission for a start. Just get the chain done and enjoy

Hello. I think in the UK it is worth around £14 - £15,000. But it will probably be different value in China!
Please review the RAV4
As soon as I get the chance :)
X5 is a tank of a vehicle gas engine is even better
Would like to try a gas/petrol one
Well, that's a new trick - you must be a Gemini! ♊
The previous generation is more worth buying than that imo.
m57 engine lasts over 500k miles.
My least favourite x5 but still a x5 and I love x5s
