Good deal I got the peg 12ah battery for $55 and it gives us over 2-1/2 hours of run time but I’m planning to add two 12v 20ah batteries in parallel on a frame under the tractor and it should give my grandson almost 12 hours run time.
That's so cool that the 12ah battery fit with the original battery bracket. The downside to upgrading battery capacity is that it takes longer to charge the battery with the original charger.
when installing the screws, snug the last few turns by hand because the drill will strip out the threads. also, when you have a loader installed on the hood, be sure to screw the safety caps back on..............if you saved them!
Thanks a lot! My daughter and I are buying a used one and customizing it for a fun little project. Was going to do a similar thing I wonder how was the performance improved w that battery?
Was this tractor originally a 6V battery and you upgraded to a 12V battery? If so this is what I want to do for my grandsons 6V tractor because the 6V is just so slow and not capable of anything more than crawling along on a paved driveway. I live in the country where we have mostly dirt roads to ride on so this piece of equipment just isn’t functional. Grandson doesn’t like it much.

Wish I was handy enough to do that! Yay you the kids will love it.

It was originally a 12volt 8ah, he upgraded to 12volt 12 ah.
Thinking of upgrading my sons 6v per perego John Deere to a 8 or 12v. Did you end up trying it? Would that work?
Hi i bought new one but why only one wheel rotating ... do you guess where will be the problem
There is only one motor on these, I believe (on the gator there is, anyway). So check the axle connection to the 'other' wheel.
If only one wheel is rotating then you only have one 6 volt motor. If both of the wheels spin at the same time you have a 12 volt version. Two motors.
