I honestly think the Pioneer is the greatest ship in the game. - Extractors and Refining - 4 large crafting stations - 4 XL drones for any size structure and space stations - 1000 scu - medbay - Capacity to carry 2 small ships on landing pad and fabrication bay - Small ship size fabrication bay that can create and upgrade ships. - large amenities area For everything noncombat it gives you whatever you need to tackle whatever project you want. The ship is stacked and the perfect mobile base. Bigger than a idris too. If you could only choose 1 ship in the game, I would take the pioneer any day. I’m incredibly excited for this ship and expect it to skyrocket in price.
I would like a carrier variant that has more landing pad elevators, which can provide repair for heavy fighters and medium ships like the cutlass or zues.

It’s a very interesting ship but I believe you are going to need an org to run it. Also, you can’t ccu to it and 800 is very painful for a digital item. That’s why I am going to pass
I could melt some ships and buy a pioneer, but I think I’ll make it my first major “end game” goal. One problem with buying so many ships is it leaves me little progression to look forward to, but this seems like a great goal that will unlock a whole different style of play than basing my operations out of my Polaris.
I've been saying the same about AI crew. Even larger orgs will struggle to have people commit to manning all the stations at all times on larger ships, I was shocked they pushed that past the V1 release.

And even those who want to, you’re not going to want to bring capital ships back to central landing areas often, so getting your crew will be a once in a while thing, you’re then stuck with those you have, who then have to log on when you log on. You’d have to be a special kind of devotee to play like that!
@@corbett666Yeah, and there's the novelty factor as well. Some might only find it fun a few times before they want to captain their own ship or do something else instead. Some roles are just more engaging than others. Hopefully they'll still deliver NPC crew eventually to help supplement those less exciting roles.
It might let an interesting meta emerge, though. It could steer people toward smaller ships for everyday things, and pit the big ones in a niche for rare occasions. If I'm in an org that can compete for the weekly planetary shield, I can put my personal enjoyment temporarily to help man a big ship when it's time to capture the relevant POIs and secure our week of protection. The rest of the time would be as you describe, too much bother for too little gains. So you'd see solo ships most of the time, with some big ships for big opportunities. That wouldn't be a bad meta to reach, I think.
@@Cynry I agree, that wouldn't be a bad outcome. I find that's how things are for me: there's some ships I just don't use often and it's a special treat to take then out. The Reclaimer is one such ship for me. Even though people solo it all the time, I find it really tedious; however, when I use it with friends it's such great experience and we have a great time together.
This ship is the absolute Endgame of Star Citizen. I am not sure if it should be purchaseable for real money. Beside that: Yes. Its great and I hope we will se more Consolidate Outland ships in the future.

Its a ship that is not a reality for solo players, its a colosus, the reality of using one far exceeds the romance of owning one, the clowns you see commenting ''cant wait for my Pioneer, cant wait for my Polaris, cant wait for my BMM'' are mostly, not all, but most are delusional. The resources, support, and time involved is for a well oiled Org/Group. Thank god some of us are graced with a pinch of common sense.Although this robot will benifit from AI/NPC's as it will all be automated and scripted.

I know many ppl hyped about Pioneer but to be honest its not such a good ship as many may think. It can build medium ships and components but you can build even bigger ships and components on your large base. About gathering resourses you can do it with Starlancer BLD, Its even better and smaller, all those rich resourses will be in Pyro anyway so you can fly in Pyro with BLD build large extractors gather what you need and then get out fast, you cant do this with such a huge ship as Pioneer. Large extractors will gather alot more than Pioneer itself. Also about XL bases and Space tations, this is really only for big orgs so its not make sense for avarage player. You can build large base in safe system with Starlancer BLD and also gather resourses in Pyro with it. Also in future they may add to BLD option to build medium space stations.
This is an organization ship and logically should only be purchased by orgs. My org has one. Individuals buying it without friends are going to waste their money. But people do illogical things.
I guess I don’t agree with this because a solo player can offer their serves to orgs that don’t have access to this ship. Manufacturing as a service. I can see a time when an org would pay to have someone help them build an outpost. Not to mention this is a great way to meet people in game and make friends and find good orgs to join.

Would manufacturers such as Anvil and Aegis allow people to build their ships using their designs and bypass them? Maybe the ships built are off-brand ships or monitored closely by the manufacturers and come with a hefty surcharge to compensate them.. I'm curious how CIG will do that.
I think CIG addressed this with reputation. If you want to get blueprints for a military Hornet mk.II, you have to earn a significant amount of reputation (i.e., trust) with Anvil. That still leads to a certain amount of exclusivity aside from the general public.
Exactly as he said, you'll have to earn or purchase that blueprint first. Difference is that once you have the blueprint you can help others skip the grind

For now. Having a restricted purchase ship being the single linchpin for space stations is a way to "slow" down players to end game content. Eventually, they will be other XL carrying builder drone carriers.
I do not believe there will be a shortage of Pioneers to hire. How many waves of 2000 have they already sold? Total sold so far is something like 14,000 units, isn't it?
@ I am fundamentally against the fact that real money and artificial limited availability can lock game features. I understand that CiG does not want dozen of thousands of partly completed space stations cluttering the verse. But at the same time, those “lesser” stations are going to be 80+% of the actual stations game play. Not one will bother attacking an org with unlimited recourses and personal. In short, overly large orgs will be detrimental to end game play.

I feel the highest tier (5?) should only be available from the factory and player-built ships can only reach the second highest tier (4?), but specific components and sub-components (fuses and relays) constructed from superior materials could have additional bonuses (resiliency, faster, stronger, etc...).
I got mine last IAE and am now even more excited for it then I was before! I think this will become my favorite and most used ship once it's added to the game. My main game play loops are crafting and base building, so excited to see the robust crafting/base building/blueprint systems coming to Star Citizen. Here's hoping they can get it done by the end of next year. I'm definitely one of those folks you mentioned that want to build the big base, space station and craft the Bengal. Thanks for the video.
Can we solo the Pioneer? Cos im thinking to melt all my CCUs ($1000+) and just leave my aurora with game+sq42 then get the Pioneer? Then the game for me will be building/crafting my way up to earn in game ships etc.... what u guys think? 🤔
Short answer: No. It's a floating factory, one individual cannot make effective use of it. Besides you'll be a giant target out in space with all your resources on board. You cannot defend yourself alone, you'll need to have a dedicated security crew and ground crew to build all the things the ship is capable of.

Also wouldn't it take a concerted effort from an org or something to be able to do any damage to the Pioneer as its a CAP ship so would have Capital shields etc. & what if I find some out of the way place to build the base so people wont come attacking. I understand a solo player wont be able to crew the ship to its full potential and wont be able to properly defend the ship if under attack, but I'm thinking if I build out of the way and being solo I wont have as much resources as other orgs to be worth attacking (kinda wondering how often would people want to attack etc as I rarely ever encounter pirates or pvp in SC)
It's hard to anticipate this far from release, but while it may be technically soloable with AI, it will be horribly inefficient to do so. It's not as bad as a combat ship, but if you're solo and you get attacked, you're pretty much dead in this ship.

Edit: Iam in one of the biggest orgs and still noone wants to play with you in a multicrew ship, everyone besides a few people just want their own. Their manned idea was not only stupid for ship layouts but will also be a bad gameplay decission.
Interesting. I'm in a medium-sized org and we typically don't have issues finding people to man multi-crew. We usually just rotate who's ship we're on so sometimes you're pilot, other times you're a crew member on someone else's ship.

I stopped ✋️ buying concept ships. I got stuck on the Perseus and refuse to advance Chris Roberts until they complete the missing features like the Carrack.
This seems to be the ultimate swiss army knife of ships now. Extracting (mining), refining, crafting (armor, weapons, ships, components), base building, medical. The question in my mind now is what other ships will now have fabricators on them? Wouldn't it make sense for a light carrier or larger to have fabricators on board to repair or replace damaged components? Shouldn't the Idris have some fabricators for like ship components (size 1 or 2)?
the new pioneer seems too good kinda wish i would have gotten it back when it was concept now. as a rule I wont buy ships without LTI so while I want one I may have to wait to get one in game.

@@AW-po7jr Yeah same boat buddy. but I see this as being able to mostly abandon on a random planet. and set up some small support facilities to make it an easally relocatable base of operations in any system. since it mines refines and builds on its own a few npcs {once they are valuable} could keep these functions working all the time and have it rebuilding backup ships

The Ownership 1.0 feature is going to make multi-crewed ships more realistic and attainable.

You'd be stuck with just an Aurora, pretty useless ship, for a long time.

Yup, totally get that. It's why I recommend just melting small ships you've got if you've already spent the money. Fresh cash is hard on this one

The bad news: it’s going to be above 1k eventually, the good news: ships above 1k get LTI (at least at the moment.)

@@AW-po7jr Yeah same boat buddy. but I see this as being able to mostly abandon on a random planet. and set up some small support facilities to make it an easally relocatable base of operations in any system. since it mines refines and builds on its own a few npcs {once they are valuable} could keep these functions working all the time and have it rebuilding backup ships

This year is not the introduction of sand worms. You need to go back about 5 years for the first of them showing us sand worms.
The dry dock and ships you build will cost real money. CIG isn’t going to give away a $5000 ship
