    I honestly think the Pioneer is the greatest ship in the game.
    - Extractors and Refining
    - 4 large crafting stations
    - 4 XL drones for any size structure and space stations
    - 1000 scu
    - medbay
    - Capacity to carry 2 small ships on landing pad and fabrication bay
    - Small ship size fabrication bay that can create and upgrade ships.
    - large amenities area
    For everything noncombat it gives you whatever you need to tackle whatever project you want. The ship is stacked and the perfect mobile base. Bigger than a idris too. If you could only choose 1 ship in the game, I would take the pioneer any day. I’m incredibly excited for this ship and expect it to skyrocket in price.

    I could melt some ships and buy a pioneer, but I think I’ll make it my first major “end game” goal. One problem with buying so many ships is it leaves me little progression to look forward to, but this seems like a great goal that will unlock a whole different style of play than basing my operations out of my Polaris.

    I've been saying the same about AI crew. Even larger orgs will struggle to have people commit to manning all the stations at all times on larger ships, I was shocked they pushed that past the V1 release.

      @@CraigPaschangI agree. And even those who want to, you’re not going to want to bring capital ships back to central landing areas often, so getting your crew will be a once in a while thing, you’re then stuck with those you have, who then have to log on when you log on. You’d have to be a special kind of devotee to play like that!

      @@corbett666Yeah, and there's the novelty factor as well. Some might only find it fun a few times before they want to captain their own ship or do something else instead. Some roles are just more engaging than others. Hopefully they'll still deliver NPC crew eventually to help supplement those less exciting roles.

    • @Cynry
      @Cynry 25 днів тому +2

      It might let an interesting meta emerge, though. It could steer people toward smaller ships for everyday things, and pit the big ones in a niche for rare occasions.
      If I'm in an org that can compete for the weekly planetary shield, I can put my personal enjoyment temporarily to help man a big ship when it's time to capture the relevant POIs and secure our week of protection. The rest of the time would be as you describe, too much bother for too little gains.
      So you'd see solo ships most of the time, with some big ships for big opportunities. That wouldn't be a bad meta to reach, I think.

    • @JL-rj9fl
      @JL-rj9fl 24 дні тому +1

      @@Cynry I agree, that wouldn't be a bad outcome. I find that's how things are for me: there's some ships I just don't use often and it's a special treat to take then out. The Reclaimer is one such ship for me. Even though people solo it all the time, I find it really tedious; however, when I use it with friends it's such great experience and we have a great time together.

      Its a ship that is not a reality for solo players, its a colosus, the reality of using one far exceeds the romance of owning one, the clowns you see commenting ''cant wait for my Pioneer, cant wait for my Polaris, cant wait for my BMM'' are mostly, not all, but most are delusional. The resources, support, and time involved is for a well oiled Org/Group. I know many ppl hyped about Pioneer but to be honest its not such a good ship as many may think. It can build medium ships and components but you can build even bigger ships and components on your large base. About gathering resourses you can do it with Starlancer BLD, Its even better and smaller, all those rich resourses will be in Pyro anyway so you can fly in Pyro with BLD build large extractors gather what you need and then get out fast, you cant do this with such a huge ship as Pioneer. Large extractors will gather alot more than Pioneer itself. Also about XL bases and Space tations, this is really only for big orgs so its not make sense for avarage player. You can build large base in safe system with Starlancer BLD and also gather resourses in Pyro with it. Also in future they may add to BLD option to build medium space stations.

      I guess I don’t agree with this because a solo player can offer their serves to orgs that don’t have access to this ship. Manufacturing as a service. I can see a time when an org would pay to have someone help them build an outpost. Not to mention this is a great way to meet people in game and make friends and find good orgs to join.

    Would manufacturers such as Anvil and Aegis allow people to build their ships using their designs and bypass them? Maybe the ships built are off-brand ships or monitored closely by the manufacturers and come with a hefty surcharge to compensate them.. I'm curious how CIG will do that.

    • @joelellis7035
      @joelellis7035 25 днів тому

      I think CIG addressed this with reputation. If you want to get blueprints for a military Hornet mk.II, you have to earn a significant amount of reputation (i.e., trust) with Anvil. That still leads to a certain amount of exclusivity aside from the general public.

      @TheSiriusEnigma 22 дні тому +1

      @ I am fundamentally against the fact that real money and artificial limited availability can lock game features. I understand that CiG does not want dozen of thousands of partly completed space stations cluttering the verse. But at the same time, those “lesser” stations are going to be 80+% of the actual stations game play. Not one will bother attacking an org with unlimited recourses and personal. In short, overly large orgs will be detrimental to end game play.

      @MTODbasics 25 днів тому

      Short answer: No. It's a floating factory, one individual cannot make effective use of it. Besides you'll be a giant target out in space with all your resources on board. You cannot defend yourself alone, you'll need to have a dedicated security crew and ground crew to build all the things the ship is capable of.

Also wouldn't it take a concerted effort from an org or something to be able to do any damage to the Pioneer as its a CAP ship so would have Capital shields etc. & what if I find some out of the way place to build the base so people wont come attacking. I understand a solo player wont be able to crew the ship to its full potential and wont be able to properly defend the ship if under attack, but I'm thinking if I build out of the way and being solo I wont have as much resources as other orgs to be worth attacking (kinda wondering how often would people want to attack etc as I rarely ever encounter pirates or pvp in SC)
