when i buy a ship do i still have to craft like wings and stuff to make it like tier 3 or 5? would like it to be max tier. the performance parts is understandable but like the hull its self i would hate to have to upgrade it
What's the lore behind players being able to craft branded items like a 300i or a Volt Pistol themselves? It's kinda like if I was able to craft a MacBook IRL. Star Citizen is supposed to represent our own future, not some fantasy galaxy far far away; I'm all for being able to craft anything, but there needs to be some lore explanation for how society veered to that kind of economy, relative to copyright and patents!
Perhaps not only the Blueprint is required, but also possibly a production license - at least, if you want your goods to be recognised and seen as authentic and not declared as "Present day illegal even in China / Third world country counterfeit" This might introduce the concept of licensing and royalties, along with subjecting yourself and your facilities to quality control inspectors / managers, who not only review the licensing terms, but also how much royalty + upkeep is needed. Looks like a very good potential to slowly introduce the Lawyer / Bureaucrat citizen profession - now we get to Push Paper even in an MMO, handling a deal with a MegaCorporation. This brings me to mind: How old must stuff be in Star Citizen before they become "Public Domain" and no more licensing fees apply? This can apply both ways too depending on how the license was negotiated. After the player who produces the higher tier version of a product made by an existing MegaCorp, can the MegaCorp gain the ability to sell the Higher TIer item itself and undercut the player who made the first discovery and production of the higher tier item?
They kind of touch on this. One of multiple things. The first is earning/finding/looting, the idea is that the BP for everything exists, that means "how" may be official thanks to reputation with guilds or mission completion but it also opens the door for not so legal methods of getting BP. Not to mention you can research which means that understanding is the priority as there is most likely no type of "copyright" enforcer on the outskirts of human settled systems. For the military ships though, there was an initiative by the UEE to help civilizations on the edge of human space and for those bordering hostile territory. This is most likely done to give the fringe the ability to fight and defend themselves which creates a buffer to the interior systems.
What interests me is whether we'll be able to sidegrade (meaning increasing one stat at the expense of another for specialization) or just make everything better universally. The latter would suck, because that would mean everything becomes a race to simply get the best with no variety whatsoever. It would be much more entertaining if for example I could craft components that are extremely stealthy, but very fragile, and/or are only able to deliver massively decreased performance.

I agree. "Game is feature complete and we are in the polish phase" oh BTW, two more years. Two more years! TWO MORE YEARS! It feels like they have next to zero QA testing for sq42. And mind, two years is just for sq42. Not the PU
Fuses don't really wear in real life, they could when exposed to oxygen and high temperature... fuses limit the current that can flow through a system!
they have to design ships and sell the idea of maybe owning that ship in 5 years though. no time to focus on the actual game when theres money to be scammed out of people for a new $50k coffee machine for the office xD
The issue is fixing bugs takes time and whenever they add new core technical features, bugs will reappear either way, making it uneconomical and unwise to spend too much time on bugs as the game will break either way upon introducing new features, as a result they have to meet the balance between spending just enough time between fixing bugs and delivering new features, just playable to the point the community can somewhat tolerate it. This is a realistic compromise that is a result of the open and transparent nature of the development of this project.
@@puntmannoor3403 They've raised almost 1B dollars. You actually think they can't hire developers to fix bugs and work on new features?? In over 11+ years?? Yeah, okay bud.

But for some reason you could not make a normal animation of the construction of buildings and structures like in the same game of the 90s StarCraft or like in the space sim X or Elite. And all this cost you 800 million dollars and more than 10 years of development?

2026 is for squadron 42 which is the single player game, this won't be out until 2030 I'm guessing
When can I pledge a CGC?
Fuses don't really wear in real life, they could when exposed to oxygen and high temperature... fuses limit the current that can flow through a system!
Demos struggling to do 30FPS are concerning. I jumped on yesterday with a 4090 and was even getting bad frames.
Looks great and all but you think we can maybe fix the bugs and make the game playable at least first?
they have to design ships and sell the idea of maybe owning that ship in 5 years though. no time to focus on the actual game when theres money to be scammed out of people for a new $50k coffee machine for the office xD
@@puntmannoor3403 im aware of those factors.
BUT, they clearly arent event trying.
Its the only live service game that is this much of a hot mess. And the excuse of " early acess" doesent count anymore when youre selling ships for thousands of dollars.
There are massive bugs like the terminals in the game for years that arent fixed or even adressed.
Will u sell T5 ships?
Craft a way so ingame brought items don't get server wiped 🙏🏻.
Pay to win it is
The crafting time for items will be so dreadful, but it still can't beat Warframe's crafting times 🤣If you know you know. But then again Warframe can rush by using plat 🤔
Are u guys considering brought eve online so i can play it too
The idea that some rare blueprints might only be acquired by one person and then can't be traded sounds pretty horrible, actually.
Realistically speaking I think late 2027 for a PC & console 1.0 release.
( Yes I said console there's no way they're going to miss out on that market and by then the next gen consoles should be out)
🤡
Console for SQ42 at some point, you are delusional if you think SC will though
In ten years
Wow. And I thought Borderlands / Cyberpunk 2077 syndrome on items was complex. Having it in Star Citizen is a whole other level altogether.
yes but be cool :)
Someone get these people a glass of water. The smacking and slurping is driving me nuts
only 9009094090494024892059e^5308 years away
that seems a little conservative
Can you guys optimize the game first? I can wait. I’d like to be able to fly my ship without hitting a 30k or having the lifts get bugged. Feel like there are bigger issues then this
You probably play Elder Scrolls 6 with tons of mods sooner than actually have this in the game
Talk more about farming. Will there be genetics? Can you grow drugs n medicine, food, crafable material like fibers?
This game will never be finished with all this "features". I will Die before this game is playable...
Been trying to play the game since yesterday, just an endless crashfest
Duh. Wait for a patch
@@mndeg Now THAT should have been the theme for CitizenCon
You came up with the revolutionary technology of the Ancients - crafting using extracted resources... In fact, this was already in the old games of the 90s. But for some reason you could not make a normal animation of the construction of buildings and structures like in the same game of the 90s StarCraft or like in the space sim X or Elite. And all this cost you 800 million dollars and more than 10 years of development?
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ääääh, what they said about when available ?
Actually i can`t play since 5 days because i need the time to count 30K crashes in a 12 years old "Alpha" ...
Wish all of you a nice waiting-time and other well running games
So they pretty much they implemented what starfield finished already long time ago
Hows hex codes coming along
Oooo, ya know what would be really cool? If we could establish a farm on a planet, grow crops, raise animals, and sell our products at farmers markets across various different systems. Someone gotta supply all the food after all.
So they're copying Eve...
This game, if it ever releases, will be the biggest bomb you've ever witnessed. It's a glorified tech demo that has been fragmented into so many parts that they were in over their heads from the very start.
They will continue to postpone the game release, and also for that squadron game, because they make more money keeping your hopes and fantasies alive, than to wake you up from this dream.
The game will be the biggest bomb you've ever witnessed both if it will be relased, or if it will be cancelled lol
1.400$ backer, cargo missions elevators not working, carrack cargo bays still not working, missions to defend pnj that do not spawn, scrapping pieces spawning only at 2 meters distance, constellation cockpit still with metal frame on target, etc... i'm fed up... Could you please focus on what you already have, and making it work ? Stop spending our money on working env. decorations, and try to keep your devs so they become one day senior devs, at least to train the new ones...
$9300 backer here....currently with a bricked acct since the 18th LOL! I love CIG and SC but I worry about this trend of jaded players. If they'd just only focus on recovering the server crashes they could alleviate so much frustration. I have lost ALL of my gaming friends over this game LOL they all think I'm crazy for still loving it . Recently I lost all my SC friends I played with over hating MM's. They all literally just stopped playing and yell at me to quit. I don't care about MM's. I guess I love SC too much....but you're right. This worries me for any future for it when there are bugs as old as my son that is about to start shaving.
@@warren3174 Do like me bro, just dont play it and wait. Their focus it's obiviously not on the playable version, and playing it will only give you frustration even because they are constantly changing everything.
I bought the genesis back in 2015 and after nearly 10 years it's still two jpeg artworks without any news whatsoever lol.
I just check sometime but that's it, i dont want to make my blood sour
Wow, the tier system is REALLY bad on ships. The differences is far too much, whoever has corps or industries will easily upgrade to T5 and there's pretty much no way you can fight that
The item crafting is copied from Star Wars Galaxies, so nothing wrong, quite hyped about it.
Yo how's Theatres of War coming along?
