    Thank you for shedding light on my symptoms, and this slow road to recovery. I've never been socially awkward, but my inability to gather sentences, coupled with the monetary stress of my accident; had me feeling like I was going crazy. Stress is the worst thing for PCS patients. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

    Brain fog and reading inability kills me with anxiety but the few times that i manage to collect myself and pray, i start to understand what im reading, personally, anxiety is my number 1 obstacle, without it, even with difficulties i can definitely do the things even though it requires more work

    This video has been extremely helpful. I’m still recovering…. I am grateful for this information. I definitely know anxiety has been a huge barrier…. All the details flying too fast after a very violent vehicle crash.
    People treat you like you should be yourself the next day, all I did was deteriorate and spiral with other injuries. I’m still dizzy a lot. Grateful for your exercise suggestion.

    Thank you so much for sharing this. Had to watch the entire video. I had concussion in 2021 and severe blow to my head. Totally about if you have pre existing anxiety that it gets worse after concussion. Really working on my therapy now. I have persistent anxiety even just by working night shift which in the past night shift didn't use to scare me. Now I am all messed up crying, painful neck, back pain just by working at night.

    Dr. Marshall I understand you believe many times PCS can be caused by issues in the neck. I have come across a type of chiropractic practice called NUCCA that addresses the connection between the neck and head and is claimed to be very effective in this area. Just wondering why you haven't mentioned it as far as I have heard. Is it something you don't recommend?

    for fuck's sake if my doctor had told me that I'm not automatically doing myself damage by testing triggers and working my way up to stuff... i might be so much better off. I've been terrified of everything that brought on any symptoms and I've been fretting I've been giving myself a bunch of extra concussions, just as you describe. my attitude to health and injury has always been to stay active and do as much as I can without exacerbating things, and to keep scaling up... but with PCS i didn't because my i specifically asked my doctor if i could be making it worse and she didn't really have anything to say about it - so I played it safe and got more anxious

      sorry to hear that! You had the right gut instinct but unfortunately your doctor likely wasn't very concussion savvy

    You mentioned rotational level of acceleration/velocity to sustain a concussion. What is that level? Would getting T boned at 30 mph get to that level or is it all neck?

    • @CompleteConcussions
      @CompleteConcussions  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Caren,
      The number in rotational acceleration is around 5500 rad/s2. Rotational acceleration is much harder to quantify or compare with other everyday events unfortunately. Unless you had full accident reconstruction and high-speed cameras recording your movement at the point of impact, no one can tell you how much rotational acceleration happened.

    Why are you hypersensitive for a short period of time? It’s been three weeks since my second concussion. My first was very severe with anxiety crisis and extreme hypersensitivity. This time around it is not so severe and I and facing things rather than escalating the anxiety. I haven’t been to work as my last shift caused an extreme symptom response a week and a half after the hit. I am at a loss right now because my next is in such locked tension and my forehead as well which is prob causing my dizziness that is still getting better but the tension just will not go away.
    Any help will be a life saver. There are no specialists that are legit around me.
