This is so fascinating! After suffering for over 2 years from post concussive symptoms, extreme fatigue, POTS, severe anxiety, gut and hormonal issues and so on - I have finally been referred to a multidisciplinary concussion clinic and I am so overjoyed to finally get treatment. I did get another concussion recently, so this is really good information. As I’ve been working with a naturopath for my gut and hormonal health and have been addressing my mental health issues - all of what you’re saying makes so much sense! I have struggled with health issues for about 6 years now and had some prior to the concussion so the exacerbation makes a lot of sense. Thankyou for such a great video 🙌🏼.
Thank you. Best information source out there, for concussions. Thorough, detailed, easy to understand. You present the information all at once, instead of making us hunt for the rest of the story in more vudeos. This subject needed, and was long overdue for, a new perspective. Good stuff. Power is knowledge.
I had a concussion on Jan 26th of this year. The TBI clinic in Knoxville could not take me for 6-8 months. I could not see a doctor at Vanderbilt at their TBI clinic until June 21st. I am 70 years old. I have had some medical treatments but it has been almost 8 months and I am still having issues that have not been treated. There are not enough qualified and trained doctors in my area to treat concussion patients at the time they need it most. I am starting to give up hope to get antsy better than I am right now.
I fell off a 20 inch block retainer wall my neighbor said I tucked and rolled but after 3 days the right base of my Skull and back of my head and neck was painful. Your video helped me diagnose a mild concussion and neck muscle injury. Great presentation TY
Thank you I’ve suffered from a blunt injury right above back of the neck And your video really helped this 15 year pain I’ve been going through as you explained and it all made sense and already feeling better thank you again God Bless !
Hi Dr. Cameron, I have been struggling with PCS for a number of years and really do appreciate the work that you do put in these videos together. I would sincerely appreciate booking an appointment with you. I saw online your head office in Mississauga, But did not see any contact information. What would be the best way to reach out to you and schedule an appointment? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Bill.
Hi, I'm watching this after dealing with a concussions several months ago. This is great! Is it ever too late to restart and implement what you mention? The diet I've been doing but the exercise has been a challenge. No pain, no gain I guess. I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for this.
I suffered from PCS anxiety, headaches, tinnitus and many other symptoms for about 9 months before I tried an upper cervical chiropractor and it has helped tremendously. Important also is to give up caffeine completely even small amounts of decaf coffee... this was the hardest thing for me but you would be surprised how much it can effect your nervous system.
@@sonia68ish my medical Doctor got it so wrong and I am still suffering years later ..so I am less trusting sadly ,its hard to be assertive when you have just has a neck and head injury .
None of the studies identify what manual cervical therapy is... Can you elaborate? Most chiros focus on twist the head and pop the neck. NUCCA/Atlas chiros have their narrow focus. PTs tend to focus on Range of Motion. What about postural discipline? Your last point was very good. Looking for symptoms like memory symptoms could be expanded greatly. If one looks for a symptom, one will often find it as the mind uses past sensations to be replayed.

Do you have any opinions about neurofeedback therapy or cranialsacral massage? I heard using brain waves at certain frequencies can have the effect of repairing neurons and improving synpases. I have also heard the Monroe Institute does individualized therapy using this technique.
Here's the thing - PCS is NOT due to damage to neurons. So any treatment claiming to "repair neurons and synapses" is completely missing the underlying cause of persistent symptoms. It sounds good to the average person. But once you understand that your brain isn't damaged in the first place, you'll stop seeking treatment aimed at "repairing the brain". Now the first two - neurofeedback and craniosacral therapy are legit. Neurofeedback helps to regulate autonomics (most of it anyways) - this is fine! There are other ways to do it (which are far less expensive (aka FREE)), but if you don't mind spending the money and have had no luck with the other methods, this can help. Craniosacral is aimed at helping the musculoskeletal system which causes many concussion like symptoms (including headaches and dizziness). Also helpful for some - again, there are other ways which are generally more effective for a wider number of people, but there's nothing wrong with giving this a shot!
@@CompleteConcussions Ok ty for the response. I should have specified binaural frequencies at different Hz. I heard it can clear amyloid proteins at certain frequencies or using Gamma, without going into specifics. But I read these frequencies can improve focus, memory, and concentration and sleep. And someone else informed craniosacral can help align bones in the neck which can be out of alignment. I am unsure if that information is accurate.
that's what we specialize in. I would look into the Concussion Fix program as the first step in the treatment process - google it, read some reviews and see what you think. It's designed for the really chronic, complex cases.
Hello, I got a concussion-like incident. Not a hit, but a bungee-thing. Almost like running into a big rubber band and be slung a but back. Felt nothing but a bit dizzy after, thought it was to go over in a while, but lingered. Went off after a week completely but came back as soon as I trained again. Sounds like a concussion (without a hit in my case) or a "sea sickness-like" thing?
There are a few things which can cause these symptoms - one possibility is a concussion (you don't have to be hit in the head to get a concussion - as long as there is enough force transmitted up to the brain, then concussion can occur)...but other possibilities include neck strain/whiplash (symptoms are the same as concussion), or vestibular issues.
@@CompleteConcussions It was a whiplash-like thing that happened, soft but too"forcy". No black-out, no other symptom other than dizzy and slightly illness, like 10-20%. What would you generally recommend me to do? Just give it 3-4 weeks?
Hello, great info! I am from England I had a head injury about 3 months ago during a fight scene in a film and I have had prolonged symptoms ever since which have caused me to have to give up certain things in my daily life, mainly due to how bad the dizziness, balance, and vision issues are, making it difficult to do anything in daily life. Would I be able to take the concussion fix course from over here in little old England? Thank you!
@@CompleteConcussions Thank you! I’m currently doing Neuro physiotherapy too but I would love to recover as soon as possible so I’m very interested to try this at some point soon as well. Thank you for the video it’s been very eye opening and hopeful!
Doc, i was looking at a clinic based in Utah, USA named cognitive FX which claim to help significantly ease PCS symptoms within 1-2 weeks of treatment. Is it possible ? Seems too good to be true
There is no evidence that this is possible. From my understanding you go for a week or so and then there is homework after the fact. The homework is likely what is effective (not the 1 week)
@@CompleteConcussions My MRIs are clear. I’ve had a 48 hour EEG that came back normal. Neurologist doesn’t know what’s going on. The coordination issues and brain fog scare me a lot. Hoping it’s “just” concussion.
Is it likely that the Concussion Fix program will work for me? Will I need to have vestibular, eye, and neck therapy after completing the program, or does the program allow for full recovery from your own home without the need for specialists and rehab? I've been suffering from Post Concussive Syndrome for 3 years, following 2 car accidents; one where I bumped my head, and another that involved some whiplash. I experience heavy brain fog, dizziness, fatigue, autonomic dysfunction, cognitive issues, visual disturbances, numbness/tingling in the face and arms, wobbly unsteady movements, occasional gait changes, occasional headaches, intermittent anisocoria, etc. I've had 3 MRI's, CT scans, an MRA, vestibular testing, autonomic testing, etc. My MRI scans all look normal; no evidence of neurological diseases. MRA scan was normal. Vestibular testing ruled that I have "Post Concussive Syndrome of a central basis." My autonomic testing had a CASS score of 0, which means I technically don't have dysautonomia, although I do experience autonomic dysfunction in the form of POTS and anisocoria; my pupils will dilate at different sizes, one sometimes being smaller or larger than the other. The autonomic testing found that I have a delayed sweat response in my left arm. Other than that, everything else checks out as "normal". I've been to every -ologist and specialist I can think of. None of them have been able to help me. I was told by a second neurologist that he thinks I will heal but that it's going to take time. Well, it's been 3 years and I don't feel any better. Is there hope for me to recover?
This is exactly what the concussion fix program is really good at. People who can't seem to get better after years despite trying everything! Concussion and post-concussion syndrome is completely treatable but where the healthcare system fails most people is that everything is looked at in silos...concussion doesn't work like that as it's an intricate balance of a bunch of systems working together. Our approach is to bring all the systems together. Read the reviews on google...It's quite effective. After 3 years, I think it's worth a shot...but i'll leave that up to you!
@@IndialienJones Yep! As longs as you do the right things in the right order, recovery is totally possible no matter how long it's been. We have people recover fully who are 10 years out.
