  • I get asked a lot how I sell the cards I buy on auctions. This video attempts to answer the question for my situation. There are other options that I did not discuss, such as trading in at your local game store, that are perfectly viable.

    FAQs:
    #1 What app do you use and how do you get it to show up on your screen?
    Scanning app is the TCG Player app, available for Android and iPhone. I use an app called Vysor to cast my phone to my PC, then I use Xsplit to capture the parts of the phone I want to show.
    #2 Where do you sell all the cards you get?
    I sell some of the better stuff on eBay, along with random bulk. Here's a link to my eBay store. www.ebay.com/usr/tragicmtg
    I also trade a lot of cards in the $1 to $15 range on Cardsphere. It's a great way to get the cards you want or trade away cards you don't want. www.cardsphere.com/ref/15097/...
    #3 You know you're not going to get full price for all of that, right?
    Yep, I know. I am happy to make 50-80% of TCG MID after factoring in condition, fees and shipping.

    Cardsphere has a 1% transaction fee. The cash out fee has a $10 minimum so anything less then $100 is more than 10%. Not too big of a big deal in my opinion but it may matter to the unaware.

    I was intending to look up a cardsphere guide, and then you basically made one answering most of my questions^^
    The European market is pretty good (we have cardmarket dot com), usually you find Europeans on these kinds of sites because they can get more money for their cards and trade them in for cards that are harder to get in Europe^^

    Great info man, thanks! I've been using Cardsphere for almost a couple years now, and I have been very satisfied except for recently a guy ripped me off for a Demonic Tutor. CS awards the reciever their money back whenever theres a dispute so the sender is out the cash and and the card. It was a user named, " cuttlefish" btw so beware the cuttlefish.

    When checking current market on say that Lilliana within eBay I switch to "most recent sold listings" to find current market selling price for a card vs. "Lowest price" as your date range was a few months which we all know can be quite inaccurate. Just my 2 cents. Good video tho, thanks!

    • @TragicMTG

      The sender covers the shipping. Usually I try to send multiple cards in a package. That makes rolling the shipping cost into the trade pretty tolerable.

Ebay fees and paypal are a key thing to take into account for anyone selling I only tried to list anything I thought could sell it was fun for 5 years.

    Cardsphere seems really nice, thanks for the info. Do those offers on there include shipping? (i.e. is that the TOTAL price they are willing to pay for the card or it that what they would pay with shipping being added afterwards?)

    • @TragicMTG
      @TragicMTG  5 років тому +1

      That's the total they will pay. The shipping is on the sender. The trick is to build a package with enough cards in it to where the shipping can basically be absorbed into the price of the cards.

    • @TragicMTG
      @TragicMTG  5 років тому

      @Varler So far I've never had it happen with Cardsphere. For the most part the traders there are motivated to be honest in order to keep trading. If they tried that scam a couple times the devs would shut them down quicker than eBay would. I also ship with tracking on orders over $20. International is riskier IMO but I've had better luck through Cardsphere than eBay for that.

    • @TedRodney
      @TedRodney 5 років тому +3

      @Varler About 3% of all trades get disputed for one reason or another, but 2/3 is condition disputes. About 1% of all packages get reported lost and of those, about a third come in eventually and are reported. This is consistent with loss rates experienced generally, AFAIK. Because it's all real dollars, and not imaginary points, the admins investigate each loss fully to make sure there's no scamming going on. We remove scammers from the system very quickly, because we understand their activity hurts us. All customer service is done by one of the three owners -- me, Efren or Michael,

    Thank you for the info. I am wondering if you run into issues where the buyers from cardsphere might complain about card condition or that they never received it? If so how are issues like that handled by cardsphere. Also, I assume the seller is responsible for shipping costs?

    • @TragicMTG
      @TragicMTG  5 років тому

      Yes the seller is responsible for the shipping. There are condition disputes that happen and most are resolved amicably through the internal message system. The devs get involved when necessary. They have a Discord server with a condition discussion thread that is really helpful for getting a consensus on your card conditions. I have become a little stricter then I used to be after reading through it.

      Cardsphere was born out of the pucatrade community, by people who loved the model and hated the unethical practices of its founders. We operate using USD rather than points, which means you can cash out at anytime. Our technology is way better, faster, and more powerful. Runs seamlessly on mobile browsers.
