- I get asked a lot how I sell the cards I buy on auctions. This video attempts to answer the question for my situation. There are other options that I did not discuss, such as trading in at your local game store, that are perfectly viable.

FAQs:
#1 What app do you use and how do you get it to show up on your screen?
Scanning app is the TCG Player app, available for Android and iPhone. I use an app called Vysor to cast my phone to my PC, then I use Xsplit to capture the parts of the phone I want to show.
#2 Where do you sell all the cards you get?
I sell some of the better stuff on eBay, along with random bulk. Here's a link to my eBay store. www.ebay.com/usr/tragicmtg
I also trade a lot of cards in the $1 to $15 range on Cardsphere. It's a great way to get the cards you want or trade away cards you don't want. www.cardsphere.com/ref/15097/...
#3 You know you're not going to get full price for all of that, right?
Yep, I know. I am happy to make 50-80% of TCG MID after factoring in condition, fees and shipping.

Looks like a lot of people have questions about Cardsphere that I didn't cover. Try their UA-cam page for some tutorials ua-cam.com/channels/6o3vwi61jZpfe9-0MpqoQQ.html
Thanks Tragic!
Cardsphere has a 1% transaction fee. The cash out fee has a $10 minimum so anything less then $100 is more than 10%. Not too big of a big deal in my opinion but it may matter to the unaware.
Thanks for mentioning that, I didn't remember to cover that.
You cannot withdraw any money less than $100 that is the minimum cash out on CS.
the videos are always a little long but the honesty explanation totally makes up for it. I always feel like I am getting ripped off when I sell my cards.
THANK YOU my man! That is very helpful information. Great video!
Thank you again, Tragic for yet another great video as well as being extremely informative. This was very helpful!
Thanks for sharing your time and your knowledge with these types of videos Tragic, much appreciated.
Great timing of this video have been thinking of selling some old cards
How old are we talking^^?
wow, super informative video. probably one of the best I have seen for someone getting deeper into mtg investing.
I was intending to look up a cardsphere guide, and then you basically made one answering most of my questions^^
The European market is pretty good (we have cardmarket dot com), usually you find Europeans on these kinds of sites because they can get more money for their cards and trade them in for cards that are harder to get in Europe^^
Excellent video, so easy i never knew.
Woops. I signed up before checking for a referral link. My bad bro. Very cool site, definitely gonna try it out.
No worries, I just think it's a cool service.
Great topic and info/explanations. Thanks!
Just signed up with Cardsphere. Look forward to checking it out. Always looking for a way to buy/sell/trade MTG cards.
This is a timely video considering my LGS is closing up shop next month, and I typically trade all my cards there for store credit.
Great info man, thanks! I've been using Cardsphere for almost a couple years now, and I have been very satisfied except for recently a guy ripped me off for a Demonic Tutor. CS awards the reciever their money back whenever theres a dispute so the sender is out the cash and and the card. It was a user named, " cuttlefish" btw so beware the cuttlefish.
Hey Man same situation for me got some cards from Collection I want to trade and sell so I do really appreciate the information. Also nice editing on your vids, mine are still a bit rough lol 😅 Cheers
incredible tutorial. Perfect for what i needed.
When checking current market on say that Lilliana within eBay I switch to "most recent sold listings" to find current market selling price for a card vs. "Lowest price" as your date range was a few months which we all know can be quite inaccurate. Just my 2 cents. Good video tho, thanks!
Thanks!
Great video! Very helpful. Wondering if you still do this? Has it shifted at all post 2020/2021?
I did some quick research. That really is Ral Zarek's signature. Wow!
seriously though, that def is Deschamp's signature, I have had him sign some of my cards.
The is the best video so far about selling magic cards. Ive been looking to get rid of my cards for a while and never really knew how. Anyway you could make a video about what to do with bulk commons or uncommons. Should we just trash them? Or give them to a store?
Damn I didn't realize this vid was also from your chan ~ loving your content
Finally,AMAZING thank you
Thanks; this was super helpful ^^
Thanks for posting great videos! One question i have is who covers the shipping on cardsphere?
The sender covers the shipping. Usually I try to send multiple cards in a package. That makes rolling the shipping cost into the trade pretty tolerable.
Great recap of various options! Does Card Kingdom have a trade-credit bonus or is it all the same price/only cash?
Card Kingdom does give a pretty good bonus for trade in credit.
Looks like I'm going to be referring to this video a lot this weekend.
Nice video i used to sell old postcards on ebay im UK I always found it pretty easy I did charge for postage and made okay money from it around 1k pounds a month just as a hobby. Ebay fees and paypal are a key thing to take into account for anyone selling I only tried to list anything I thought could sell it was fun for 5 years.
This is what real MTG finance looks like, great video
this is cool
thank you never knew of this site
my trade-in doesnt take as long as yours lol :p maybe it has to do with connection speed/phone specs.. i hit trade-in on my collection of around 50 cards and it takes less than 30 secs. i only do this now to see whats worth it since i have hundreds more to scan and sort from keep/sell
Cardsphere seems really nice, thanks for the info. Do those offers on there include shipping? (i.e. is that the TOTAL price they are willing to pay for the card or it that what they would pay with shipping being added afterwards?)
That's the total they will pay. The shipping is on the sender. The trick is to build a package with enough cards in it to where the shipping can basically be absorbed into the price of the cards.
@Varler So far I've never had it happen with Cardsphere. For the most part the traders there are motivated to be honest in order to keep trading. If they tried that scam a couple times the devs would shut them down quicker than eBay would. I also ship with tracking on orders over $20. International is riskier IMO but I've had better luck through Cardsphere than eBay for that.
@Varler About 3% of all trades get disputed for one reason or another, but 2/3 is condition disputes. About 1% of all packages get reported lost and of those, about a third come in eventually and are reported. This is consistent with loss rates experienced generally, AFAIK. Because it's all real dollars, and not imaginary points, the admins investigate each loss fully to make sure there's no scamming going on. We remove scammers from the system very quickly, because we understand their activity hurts us. All customer service is done by one of the three owners -- me, Efren or Michael,
9:01 LMAO great video Tragic!
What do you use to support your phone so you can slide the cards in to scan them? Currently I have mine balanced on some books but it's not very stable haha.
Great video! Thanks for sharing! I was wondering if you've ever had a problem with receiving counterfeit cards on Cardsphere? And if so, were you able to get it resolved quickly?
I have terrible luck with counterfeits on e-bay, and would be interested in trying out Cardsphere, if they have a good handle on it. Thanks!
So far I've never received any fakes with Cardsphere. I've gotten one batch from Ebay. For the most part the traders on Cardsphere are motivated to be honest in order to keep trading. If they tried to send fakes the devs would shut them down quickly.
@@TragicMTG Sounds good! Thanks for the insight!!
That was really informative, thank you. Don't know whats up with the dislikes though
All my videos get 5-10 % dislikes, must be my riveting speaking style 😂
Great video but I do not have the option to export as cxv file on my apple iphone.
I been selling to card Kingdom for years and I love them. They're the best .
what did you use to scan the card
Thank you for the info. I am wondering if you run into issues where the buyers from cardsphere might complain about card condition or that they never received it? If so how are issues like that handled by cardsphere. Also, I assume the seller is responsible for shipping costs?
Yes the seller is responsible for the shipping. There are condition disputes that happen and most are resolved amicably through the internal message system. The devs get involved when necessary. They have a Discord server with a condition discussion thread that is really helpful for getting a consensus on your card conditions. I have become a little stricter then I used to be after reading through it.
nice! ive been wanting to sell a bunch of cards too, most likely for store credit to get cards ill use.
tornadojoe87 use eBay for ur big ticket items and always add tracking, I sell cards over 20$ on eBay with tracking all the time, and in between 10$-20$ I sell there too, I try to sell them in playsets to bump up the value, I use TCG for bulk mainly...
How can I get a csv file when using iPhone? It doesn’t give me the options
I have the same question.
@@thekyletracy sorry guys this happened to me too... it only works with android
Great video, but small question how do you sell common cards
Do you hoard it then sell it as bulk
Yes exactly.
Are the Card Kingdom prices cash or for store credit?
Wow my tcg scanner try’s saying my revised edition cards are worth a ton because there alphas which they aren’t 😭
What are you using to scan cards? Did I miss that?
how do shipping costs work? are they added after you have accepted to sell something?
The sender/seller is responsible for the shipping cost. Nothing is added to the sale/asking price. Best to bundle cards to save costs and wait for high offers
What are using to scan the cards
What's with Ulamog? His name box keeps glitching out. Are you in the matrix or something?
Is there a way to sell sets on Cardsphere? Like common/uncommon or complete sets?
Only if someone was wanting exactly all of those cards which is probably not too common
Hi Mike, this is something we're asked for relatively frequently, but not yet implemented. We're a smaller team than most other marketplaces (3 guys) so I can tell you it's not right around the corner, but not off the table. We've been very much community led development so far.
What r u Scan and it on
how do you sell off the bulk commons and uncommons?
Also, packing & shipping those large quantities would be helpful!
So cardsphere is like a new pucatrade? what is the difference between both? first time hearing about cardsphere
Pucatrade ran on points I believe? I never used it. Cardsphere runs on US dollars so the currency of the platform is more stable. The @cardsphere UA-cam page has some info and tutorials everyone might find useful.
Cardsphere was born out of the pucatrade community, by people who loved the model and hated the unethical practices of its founders. We operate using USD rather than points, which means you can cash out at anytime. Our technology is way better, faster, and more powerful. Runs seamlessly on mobile browsers.
England *points to Australia*
Otherwise this was helpful, never heard of cardsphere. Might try them sometime
Ever mess with the app "MAGE" pretty sure it's new. I have loads of old cards from mirage tempest urzas etc I don't play paper magic anymore and don't need the higher value cards and need to unload. Thanks for the info on trading cards but I need to find a way to get cash for these.
Mage is the rebrand of the Snapcardster app.
what do you use to scan your cards in?
TCGPlayer app
How are you scanning your cards?
TCGplayer available on ios and android
Def alot of work that's for sure! One of these days I'm gonna end up selling all my shit lol.
Looks like TGCPlayer only works in 1/195 countries in the world
Yourepissed that pioneer came out lmao
Haha I've got a ton more
ill trade you my Hydroid Krasis for your Carnage Tyrant ;p
I need one for my cube!
@@TragicMTG my krasis is just sitting there lonely lol itll never get played.. but a tyrant would go right into a deck :)
How to sell on TCGPlayer:
Don't
So you took 30 minutes to show people how to use a buylist? Lol
what is the scanning program called, or links?
