I lost touch with a good friend also from NY who was born and raised in the U.S in foster homes, never getting adopted. English was his first language. When he aged out, he did some hunting on his background and family and it turned out he was of Dominican parents. He flew out there for a year or so and when he came back, the dude spoke perfect Spanish with the heaviest D.R accent I had ever heard. He’s a very successful dude somewhere out there, I’m sure of it.
Jbbh Yhhn I say yes, cause he didn’t speak a lick of Spanish before he left and he learned it. Idk what the circumstances were, but I’m sure for him to learn it that quick, he had to have forced himself to speak nothing but Spanish during his time there. It takes a long time to learn any language no matter how gifted you are. I’m sure there were still words he didn’t quite know yet, but when it came to simple vocabulary to hold back and forth conversations with no confusion, he had it down. You couldn’t tell he just learned Spanish and I’m a Spanish speaker, first language. It was the craziest thing ever.
Reporter: Hi, this is Felix de Jesús. We're here with Nate McLouth of the Baltimore Orioles. First of all, how are you doing and how's your health? Nate: Good, thank you. I'm happy playing for Baltimore. We're here in NY for 3 important games. Reporter: You obviously started your career with the Atlanta Braves. You also played for the Pirates, but injuries have been a problem. Nate: I don't know, but I'm happy as an Oriole. Like I said, we have a great team and we're ready. Reporter: How has Buck Showalter used you in recent games? Nate: Well, I'm here playing everyday. Batting 3rd, 6th, 7th, playing left field, etc. Reporter: So basically we're seeing the same Nate McLouth that we saw with the Pirates and Braves? Nate: Yeah. I'm getting there. Reporter: This Orioles team, many say that they're playing against the Yankees which will be difficult games... What's your team's mentality? Nate: That's not important to us, we're going to play our game and we'll see what happens. Reporter: And what's "your game"? Nate: You'll see! 😂 Reporter: You guys have a few pitchers who are up and coming such as Zach Britton. What does the team need to do even if you don't win the division in order to reach the playoffs? Nate: We need to continue pitching well, hitting and we can win. Reporter: Another question, Nate. You speak Spanish so well. How did you learn it? Nate: With the guys in the minors. I've got a lot of teachers ☺ Reporter: I imagine that many are Dominican because of the accent. Nate: Yeah, a lot of Dominicans and some Venezuelans as well. Reporter: Lastly, Tampa is in your division as well. What do you have to say about them? Nate: They're a great team. They have great pitchers. Hard team to beat. Reporter: This Orioles teams, can it realistically make the playoffs? Nate: I believe so. Reporter: Well, good luck this season Nate to you and your team. Do you want to give a shout out to all the people who watch "Semana Deportiva"? Nate: Oh so you're Dominican too?! 😂 Reporter: Yes 😂 Nate: Hello to all my Dominican people.

lou Albino se dice dominicano como tambien con acento dominicano. What's your anger? Relax dude. En Dominicano "ta bien dicho Trap Latino. No le haga caso a ese amargao."

soy un americano y yo no conocer muy problemas en Espagnol. Es relativamente parecido a el frances y por lo tanto muy facil para mi de apprendar al idiomas.

He tough the interviewer was not dominican bc the interviewer does not sound like a dominican. So this guy is more dominican than the interviewer😁
Thats because the interviewer talks like an educated dominican and Nate talks like a dominican from a guetto.
