Apparently I'm fluent when I know a little Spanish. The person who said i spoke perfect Spanish is a person who was from Venezuela correct me if I spelled the country right.
@@SpanishWithNate. Im going to be honest , because i notice many making it look your spanish is perfect but is not. Your spanish seems to be s good enough for having a fluent conversation anywhere .So this is very good already you could work as an entry level translator if you wanted it. However the accent of your spanish is very typical of many native english speakers , means anyone will instantly notice you are learning and not a native speaker. that said your spanish is better than my english. lol To remove the Gringo accent could take you many more months of practice and up to a full year. So is not easy but eventually you will get it done .. is just practice.. and not rocket science. The major challenge you could have is that young people across all latin america , use a lot of urban language influenced by Regetton and urban/trap music. And so music artist in spanish invent a lot of new words , that are not real spanish , but invent it just for their music to rhyme. So much distortion is done to spanish words in latino music , that sometimes most of a song in spanish is total distortion of spanish and adults native speakers will not understand at all half of the lyrics of their songs. Another challenge you will face is the cultural words that adults in latin america use . For example the word "MANDE" is very popular in Mexico , but also "no mames" but they are incorrect way of speaking. Is just Urban way of speaking. "Mande" is an Urban replacement of saying " Si digame" oh una manera mas educada seria " Que desea? So spanish music is not the ideal way to learn real spanish , neither spanish movies. Final challenge is that just like it happens in English , that each spanish speaking country have their own accent too.. Similar to how it is British English vs black american and white american. So far the most harder accent to learn and most different are southern latin america , like Chile o argentina spanish, they speak very fast. in my opinion the best spanish is Colombian or Venezuelan. This is why most English movies ,voice over to spanish use the spanish accent from those places. Spain spanish is not very good , even when is correct , most people dislike it ,specially with the letter "Z" pronunciation . The most beatiful sounding language is ITALIAN , it is spoken like poetry. But as likely you know is not spanish , but ancient Latin language. Still you can understand/read half of it if you know spanish. Reading it is similar to spanish but with most words make up into turned into poetry. Spanish language is an evolution of ancient latin so this is why they share some similarities. And hence we are called LATIN Americans. IF you want to impress mexicans ,and learn fast the accent of correct spanish, learn the old generation artists music their songs lyrics , that is correct spanish and use a lot of very advanced spanish words. Names like Juan Gabriel , Jose Jose , Luis miguel , Christian castro songs ,or south americans singers like Camilo Sexto , Ricardo Montaner etcetera. Their lyrics of their music is pure poetry and fully correct and romantic. To flirt in spanish with a girl , you will impress her by saying " Quede encantado con tu belleza ". "I 'm fascinated by your beauty". tell that to a stranger girl, and notice the big smile late of her, you will thank me later. 🙂
Right! This is SO common. A little Spanish from a gringo will often prompt a deluge from a native. I imagine many native Americans also speak thusly to non-native English speakers. The native hispanohablantes are not only faster but use slang, contract words, drop the "s" on plurals, have strong accents, etc. -- making it a challenge to follow.

You may have learned Spanish in high school, but you perfected it living in Mexico. No way you can be THIS fluent, with almost zero accent, and have perfect grammar unless you had full immersion. However, this doesn’t take away from how admirable it is for someone like you to speak a second language so well. So kudos to you! America would be a much better country if there were more gringos like you

In Texas: mild surprise, and then they start to talk to you with the typical latin american friendliness. nothing more. this video was typical in my experience

It’s amazing how ur accent is so strong when u speak Spanish. I am Mexican and can’t really speak it at all, I too am learning it in high school but for some reason can’t get the grasp of speaking the language
Your Spanish is way better than some hispanics born in the US; they don’t even try to practice or to learn it. As a Mexican and Spanish speaker I really appreciate what you have accomplished and the effort you put into learning it, pronouncing it and understanding it and also the time spent on the process, Wooow dude!! 👏🏻😃

rizz autentico
You may have learned Spanish in high school, but you perfected it living in Mexico. No way you can be THIS fluent, with almost zero accent, and have perfect grammar unless you had full immersion.
However, this doesn’t take away from how admirable it is for someone like you to speak a second language so well.
So kudos to you! America would be a much better country if there were more gringos like you
I like your accent, you sound like a very loved friend of mine from Guatemala
He speaks away better than any of us 🇲🇽
Finally someone who speaks Spanish perfectly and knows the slang perfectly
Felicidades te has ganado un subscriptor😂😂
yo tambien me se varias
As half Spanish, you make me really impressed with how you love the language. 😊❤️
thank you!!
Loved the video, Nate. I think it’d be much better if you also add Spanish subtitles whenever you’re speaking it like you used to. It’ll be a good help for the ones who are studying Spanish. Thanks and always take care.
Hi Nelley! I think I may start doing it again, a lot of people have been asking me :) Thanks so much for watching!
@@SpanishWithNate. serious bro. I mimic all your conversations so the dual subtitles are a HUGE help. I've actually memorized some of your omegele videos.
I agree Nelley!
I'd like the option to choose between Spanish/English/OFF.
@@SpanishWithNate. we all really appreciate the time and effort you put into subtitling everything, and i agree spanish subs would be incredibly useful for listening comprehension so we can get used to comprehending spoken spanish. this is a super helpful video for me personally as well because i'm a cashier and I learned several different ways to say certain things that i am constantly having to say with my latino customers (for example, to say the price of something i used to say it the long way "el total es cinco dolares con veinticinco centavos, but i learned i can actually just say 'son cinco con veinticinco' which is faster and more natural) I appreciate it very very much! I think these sorts of videos of daily casual interactions could be infinitely useful for us learners! go shopping next?
Your language ability allows you to bridge a gap that otherwise would keep you worlds apart. Incredible!
More videos like this please. I love this level up style for Spanish!! More, please!
Thanks so much!!
Ayyyy, me emocioné!!!!
gracias Zoe! :)
@@SpanishWithNate. tranks, bro ;)
The fact that you know the sayings and how to use them is extremely impressive. Top class 👍🏼
Dude, your Spanish accent is perfect, if I would listen without knowing you were an American I wouldn’t notice any English accent at all. Congrats man, hard work pays off.
gracias Augusto!!
@@SpanishWithNate. you are welcome, can you give me a tip how to pronounce the schwa sound, as you know that doesn’t exist in Spanish. Thanks in advance.
OMG you speak it so well! I'm so proud of you. You even got the accent down. Good job! ❤️🇲🇽❤️
It's always nice when someone foreign takes time to learn the language of the country they're going 😊
Tu fluidez al hablar es impecable 🙌 felicitaciones 👍
This is the perfect level of spanish for me. Un nuevo suscriptor esta aqui!

Your accent man! It’s incredibly good. You sound like a native speaker!
I love this so much. If there’s one thing I’d love to do in this life, is make a video like this one. I want to be fluent so bad!
Love to hear it! 🔥
Seeing videos like this of native speakers being so happy and inquisitive when someone speaks their language really motivates me to become fluent in Spanish! Breaking the language barrier and being able to speak to people you otherwise couldn't is a wonderful thing and I really hope to achieve it en el futuro!
I love your videos and I also love that you’re interacting with people in public settings.
i need to find friends to speak with in spanish 🥺i learned when studying in spain for a year but i’m losing it and it makes me sad. so glad you’re keeping it up, you are as bilingual as you can get lol 💛
Hello, I am a native of Spanish if you want you can talk to me
Me took 😭

I live in Mexicali Mex., close to the border and I can say your pronunciation is amazing, the "muchachas" talk very fast and you still got it all, impressive
i love so much how people now a days really want to learn more languages and explore different cultures❤❤
No joke, he speaks better Spanish then I did when I came back to Mexico, being here 3 years i got the slang and the tone and being fluent now. But he sounds like he would be from north part of Mexico, great job dude. Happy to hear more people speaking Spanish. MEXICO 🇲🇽
Gracias Esmeralda!
Love It!
Your laugh is similar to my brothers who passed away last year. You reminded me of him! But your Mexican Spanish ir really good. My family is from the state of Mexico or Mexico City and Quatzacoalcos
Wow it's so cool hearing you speak with a perfect Mexican accent. Bravo 👏
Great job! I am a native Spanish speaker and to my ears you sound like a native speaker or someone who was raised and taught Spanish since you were a baby.
love to see all the restaurants in my city getting recognition, on a large platform!
I'm a native Spanish speaker, and bro your Spanish is so good, you sound like a native really and also you have that Mexican accent, so cool. (In my case, I wanna practice my English xd)
Is really nice to see these type of videos, and you seem to be so kind man, I suggest you to come visit Puebla as well.
Crazy how once you speak their native language, they'll always show great hospitality.

Great video as always. I am just approaching the level of Spanish with which you teach, and it is upper intermediate. Phenomenal video as always. I can always learn something from un gringo que ha aprendido espanol. Buen video.

Lol Mexicans LOVE when others show appreciation for their culture
Every foreigner has the same behavior when you try to speak their mother language, but it’s notorius with the people from latinamerica, and the southerncountries of europe (Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, etc).
Hablo muy poco español. But I'm learning a little bit every day. It's good for me to listen to these videos of conversations with the subtitles for me to read.
Kamusta Nate! From the Philippines 🇵🇭💜
Kamusta amigo!!
Fair enough man, you speak it very well. I think you set an example for the gringos. Keep it up!
language breaks barriers and opens up people its so cool
In Texas: mild surprise, and then they start to talk to you with the typical latin american friendliness. nothing more. this video was typical in my experience
LOL anyways, despite my nervousness over my bad spanish, generally I've found other teenagers here to be welcoming and not rude.
You speak like a 100% Mexican. In Mexico people probably think you're from there (upper class white Mexican).
