If Pop Goes The Devious Diesel because brakes can’t come off properly enough we’ll remembered first Gordon’s carriages left the station and came back also Duck around quietly where the other trucks to line
5:00 yes it is, the fat controller said “I never believed diesel, after you left he told lies about henry so I sent him packing.” there was no finding out needed as the fat controller knew all along that diesel was a liar.
If I were to write a personality for Diesel, he would be portrayed as a grumpy, sarcastic, and sometimes cynical shunter. Despite his grumpieness, he is dedicated to his work and doesn't stop until a job is finished.
It’s quite interesting why Duck doesn’t like Diesel. In real life the class 08 shunters practically took over the work the Pannier tanks on UK railways
Can we acknowledge the fact that diesel always gets the short ends of the stick? I mean, when he first came to sodor he seemed nice it's just that he sounded off. It was only duck who was suspicious just because he sounded off Additionally the narrator says that it's silly that the engines were impressed Like what? Also in the episode diesel does it again He once more came to sodor, well yeah he already did bad things but again he sounded nice just off putting And What do duck and Percy do? Go on strike and refuse to work. Like WHAT you're not going to even look if he had changed or not?! Well said by diesel in spring time for diesel where everyone looks at him like he's going to do something bad, and now he's obligated to do something bad (funny how Daisy still didn't forgive him) And yeah. beyond diesel does it again he actually does some bad stuff and in those two episodes I mention diesel still lied and Diesel still push trucks to the sea but I still wanted to point it out Also I don't think diesel is really smart Like... He came to the yard wanting to go show off and he got tricked Like yeah he did said "diesels don't need to learn, ECT" But Like instead of reporting duck for tricking him for no good reason, making him move quarantined rolling stock (which In some rail safety book it's probably illegal) for breaking the standards of "the Great Western Way" and just overall being a jerk for not trusting him because he sounded off He stepped low and decided to tell lies about duck and forever ruins the steam engines perspective of diesels To be fair that was the point of the story "both sides are equally bad" so it's understandable why diesel acted dumb Although if diesel haven't told lies then the story could go like "character learns how to not show off" And could even get a second chance Aw well... Very hard for diesel to get one I spouse... (Unless if you're AEG diesel)
If what I've heard is correct, Rev W. Awdry, the reason Diesel had such behaviour stemmed from his own negative feelings of diesel locos taking over in real life, it was only in later series and books that there were diesels written that were "friendly", such as Rusty, Boco, Daisy, Salty, etc
Daisy started out rude, stuck up and looked down on the other engines when she first arrived. Salty was also not a railway series character. I think all the early diesels had seniority complexes but as they started getting replaced by newer diesels they started to get nicer.
@@alexanderrobertson9297 I think he might've meant that Daisy wasn't prejudiced against steamies. Yes, She was stuck up and rude but that's because she was brand new and young (Think James but female). She was the newest thing in diesel locomotives at the time as stated by her in her debut episode. And she was specifically rude to Annie and Clarabel because she could also take passengers in her
There was a cgi episode episode where he states that he's devious because other engines are mean to him, so he shouldn't be nice to them. I forgot the name of the episode though.

Diesel has been a Liar and a Bully ever since the incident between him and Duck
