I like how this video seemed more like a documentary. Talking about the reasons and fallout kind of similar to Victor tanzig, but without a connected storyline that leads up to them.
The derailment with Alfred reminds me alot of what happens to 98462 in my AU, derailed on a sharp corner near Rolfs Castle while speeding pulling a passenger train in 1919, he would be scrapped due to the damage in the wreck. The engine that was dispatched to clean up the wreck would be Edward. My inspiration for the wreck was the 1906 Grantham raill accident, where a GNR train thundered through a red signal onto a 15mph limit curve, the engine was slung across both tracks. engine involved, GNR 276 must have been repaired after the wreck as records of works visits occur up till 1945.
My AU has Alfred do something similar as well. For me, he was already in a (Minor) accident on the mainline and reduced to goods service. The Nitrogen-Era Fenland in my AU is somewhere along the mainline. Alfred was going over the speed limit over the Fenland, causing it to collapse.
Gosh, how many times the Island of Sodor had accidents and incidents like this? This is feeling on based on real-life UK train accidents and incidents everywhere.
@Thomas-the-tank-engine-number1 agreed, and this is coming from someone who has gone through not just depressions but su!c!dal thoughts so I relate to Caleb,so I don't blame Caleb for it
@karenfan010 Caleb wasn't just depressed, he also couldn't have known that the whole train would crash, he probably thought arker would just launch his car instead of derzil8ng the whole thing
1:45 It looks like Mister the Blue Steam locomotive would need to be in his new shape, after his terrible accident pulling passenger trains, and derailing off Bulgy's bridge
this is pretty interesting! also i half was expecting like, in the middle of it to describe something of an epic derailment...then just show the only thing that happened was an engines pony truck popping off the track-
For the most recent one, its a bloody good job Archer was heading that train instead of Pip and Emma. The HSTs are literal museum pieces, and there's good reason for it (you can see Class 43s on some heritage railways). They were built to 1970s crashworthiness standards, and fail pretty much every modern crashworthiness test they are subjected to. Thats why they were so quickly withdrawn from CrossCountry, even though CrossCountry didn't and still don't have anything to replace them with. Basically, with Archer heading that train, he was merely derailed and 16 people died. With Pip and Emma heading that train, they may not have survived, and I can guarantee more than 16 people would have died.
Whenever i get to it. I can't say for sure, given that i'm following a timeline for the Engine arrival series. But that's why i'm making these videos. To give a little description about what's happening in modern day sodor
I bet the Narrator would say "sadly, we can't talk about Thomas came into the Station Master House, as for him it is too embarrassing for him, plus everyone and the Station Master talks about it time to time, even when he went down in a mine, anyway back to our story." Just like that. 😂
One thing I should mention about the 2019 accident, which I can't believe I didn't mention in my first comment a few months ago, is that when upgrading the mainline to 125mph, those gated level crossings would have been removed. Even if the road wasn't re-routed, the crossing would've been replaced with an automated barrier crossing, the type that is pretty much ubiquitous on the mainline UK network. Only heritage railways keep these manually-operated gated level crossings, and while the NWR may have a heritage fleet, it is not a heritage railway...
Also, the Kipper disaster likely prompted Topham to replace the signals, as the story was partly inspired by other tales of signals being weighed down by icicles, showing 'line clear' when the line was anything but.
I hope Adam is alright If he’s not I won’t be happy None of us will Edit: he and Reginald are fine thank god and also I thought there were no deaths in Alfred’s crash
The Wellsworth accident has me a bit curious if Reginald was scheldued to come down Gordons hill, then why was Adam allowed from the branch onto the main, it seems like hardly any time would pass between Adam clearing the mainline and Reginald thundering by.
I enjoyed the video 🙂 Misters accident could be what led the closure of the Sodor and Mainland Railway and what Clive Neil and Matthew are hiding as a secret. I remember in Alfred's crash there were no fatalities, so why change that there were?
The investigation wasn't complete when the police ran the death toll by Sir Topham, and there were likely lives lost on the way to or even at the hospital.
I like these video I would slow down on the pacing reminds me of wildnorwestern early videos, he use to run through those videos back in the day I was thinking about how much he improved after watching his new video recently funnily enough I would also play some background sounds and music but not to the point where we cant hear you speaking anymore ((still watch those )) Good video though watched to the end :) might watch your others too im lying i will watch them lol
So, one thing about the clip with Alfred, he should have plowed straight ahead instead of quickly turning against the direction of the track when he derailed. As is, the movement just kinda looks weird. It's not a huge problem, the existing clip gets the point across, but if you ever remaster Engine Arrival: Crovan or refilm the scene for later use you might want to keep that in mind. As for the Straights crash, that wouldn't have resulted in a derailment. In Florida we have the Brightline service which, while not quite as fast along the sections with road level crossings, topping out at 90mph for the entire length of the Florida East Coast Railroad section from Miami to Cocoa (the dedicated corridor from Cocoa to Orlando International Airport runs at a full 125mph). Due to this being Florida, there's a lot of idiot drivers who try to beat the train, assuming it's a bulk sand or phosphate drag or a mixed freight coming up from the Miami area, only to end up with an Siemens Charger SCB-40 plowing through their car at 90mph instead of the expected EMD SD or GP series trundling past in their rear view mirror at around 55mph. The train would have had to stop either way, but usually when a train hits a car, the car just gets obliterated while the head unit (locomotive or cab car) suffers only cosmetic damage.
What if Afton or Alled Greedy's rationale for coming to the North Western Railway is in the wake of Gordon smashing through Kirk Ronan's station wall? After all, like I said, James double heading expresses with Crovan would become unsustainable surely.
He became the prototype for the B16's, although Raven went with more traditional cylinders and Stephenson Link Motion. Gresley used Mister as the template for the B16/2.
The good's train in the flying kipper crash is not donald puling the train is actualy james bc after hendry crash in the model series james can be seen helping to clean up the mess.
I guess Donald was used because it was never known who was pulling the train Henry crashed into. EDIT: It’s probably because FoH’s series is an AU. Donald and Douglas came to the railway in the early 30’s here.
