Seconded! I absolutely fell in love with sticky rice and mango when I visited Thailand and when I try to recreate I ALWAYS add salt. It's really essential.
Everyone I know uses measuring cups and a rice cooker and while it works, it never comes out perfect. The way I was taught was on a stove top by eyeballing just a bit too little water and adding a few splashes as I go where needed, never turning my back on it for more than a minute or two. Comes out great. On that note, people who walk out of the kitchen while pots are actively boiling on the stove scare me I'm guessing mum nearly set fire to her house once because she drilled that shit into me.. never walk away :P

I'm from Thailand and i approve this video 100% accurate but you might need more veggie in your Larb, and try Larb with a sticky rice it's really good.
Or if you in diet, you can use lean meat instead of normal meat and use just water instead of oil. I normally use water because I normally make Larb with pork&porkskin which is really nice!

I LOVED THIS! I’m south East Asian and was so surprised to see this on your channel. I’ve been following you for a couple years now though. You did a great job. For anyone wanting to try this but maybe not knowing if you’re getting the seasoning right or don’t have all of these ingredients, go down to your local Asian store. See if they have larb seasoning packets. Obviously best to season with fresh ingredients that you can adjust, but if you want something easy it’s what my mom uses when she doesn’t feel like doing the work haha.
I always see it spelled with an 'r' but it's pronounced "laab" by all the Thai people I know (including my Mother-In-Law who is always right, haha). The only main difference in the recipe is she uses fresh Thai chilies and it is hotter than hell and we use cabbage instead of lettuce as wraps. It's one of my favorite dishes.

@@jackprat17 I never tried heard of fish mints till now and after google it I don't think I tried them yet, it not common where I live. And no! Its always coconut milk on sticky rice like this. Sure sweetened condense milk is common here as well as unsweetened ones but never on sticky rice or in Thai traditional sweets.
