here's what the cheese burger mean in the movie. The cheeseburger itself is a symbol of the thing that reminded Slowik why he began cooking, and how he fell in love with it. The simple act of preparing something for someone who greatly appreciates it - no bells and whistles, no frills or fuss.

Once again easily my favorite scene because you can really feel a simpler past come back in Chef’s expressions as he cooks what he came out of before the critic brought him into the higher class.
In the end, it goes to show that the best you can always make will come from personal enjoyment
The Menu was much more entertaining than I expected and I’m glad you’re tackling it on this channel. I will definitely try to make the burger sometime
I’m so happy he did this one!! The Menu has to be one of my favourite movies now.
Do yourself a favor and watch more movies
@@Mantrahiroshima do yourself a favor and shut up.
@@MantrahiroshimaI have. I just love The Menu!
As an Australian it is hard to believe $9.99 is overpriced
I was going to say the same, in Canada that would be like $19, you would be lucky to get those fries for 9.99
@@Rusticity_ I thought Canada was similar, sort of like with UK, or do you just have less buying power?
price generally varies where you are in america ( suuuper far north, in the northern parts of AK, milk can go for $18 a gallon, while in rural IL, where i'm from, its like $3 last i checked )
so burgers are probably just cheaper where babish is 😭😭
@@saturniidz it just made me think Australia is similar to Nee Zealand but New Zealand apparently has significantly less buying power, maybe due to its density
Also concider the exchange rate between Australia and US very low, which is why it was confusing
We could include a 50% tip and it's still likely cheaper than buying similar in Aus.
Just as an FYI. After working at roosters and hand cutting the wedges, I learned that a crinkle cut ROCKER KNIFE is the only way to actually get any leverage to cut the potatoes. I prefer the one with a round blade rather than the flat blade.
Edit: if you google "pampered chef crinkle cutter" you will see what I mean.
I love this movie. Its probably the best movie I have seen in the last couple of years. It was a brilliant movie. The message to stay humble and to focus on giving something to others that actually matters was awesome.
When you think about even though the cheeseburger was purely her own request Margot was the only dinner guest that liked anything she was served.
@@TMDTheMaskDirector-ye5oe And that is exactly what makes tye scene great. She used what she knows of the chef to remind him of his roots in order to escape.
Now I really wanna see a "Botched by Babish"-Style episode of the full footage for this episode, just to see how Andrew gradually gets so frustrated that he rips the crinkle cutter apart.
Oo I would definitely watch that
The second I saw this film I knew wanted to see Babish handle at least one of it’s amazing looking dishes .
Hope he tackles the Bresse chicken thighs with heirloom masa laser-engraved tortillas...
I like how the final shot has a LOT of color contrast between the two meals. It’s like hdr being off vs on
0:52 Ngl, when he said “a little something like this” and then the instrumentals kicked in, that went hard
I like to think that Andrew's gourmet version is from an alternate ending where the chef changed his mind.
Great episode; the "reverse Coldstone" idea you had for the American cheese was very extra and the results were beautiful. But yeah, both burgers looked awesome and you totally didn't need to do that. Both this and "Pretty Patties" were some of the best Babish videos I've seen in a while.
Now I want to eat a cheeseburger
Let's go to Hawthorne
9.95 from a luxury resturant? thats a steal
Was a massive Babish fan in the early days and just coming back now to binge (no pun intended) on his newer content. I have been loving getting a look into the process, and walking us through some of the mistakes he made and how he rectified them. Such an awesome channel, and an awesome dude.
The way you were able to actually tear apart that crinkle knife in frustration was hilarious! 😂
here's what the cheese burger mean in the movie.
The cheeseburger itself is a symbol of the thing that reminded Slowik why he began cooking, and how he fell in love with it. The simple act of preparing something for someone who greatly appreciates it - no bells and whistles, no frills or fuss.
Steven Universe once say "If every pork chop were perfect, we wont have hot dog"
I took it as middle class America as just wanting to appreciate art for art's sake rather than having some nonsensical overly intellectual meaning shoved in their face. As Margo said "you've taken all the fun out of eating"
Much like how writers and artists constantly insert their political messages into their work takes the fun out of watching movies or reading books or appreciating paintings.
I did not expect to love, “The Menu,” as much as I did.
Loved the final moments of everyone getting a piece of the burger and some fries. Team meal!
Great video, it's fantastic to see you're back to the classic Babish formula of "let's do it simple, then let's go crazy and do it the hard way" ❤😅
and I gotta say that grinding my own beef blend at home has REALLY elevated my burger game.
Like, you wouldn't think it would make THAT much difference, but it totally does. Especially with a super-simple burger.
andrew: i’m not a professional chef
also andrew: has two cookbooks and an entire line of cookware as well as a successful youtube channel entirely dedicated to food
Of course. A chef is defined by their ability to work in a professional kitchen. Completely different from making videos and simply writing recipes.
I have massive respect for Andrew and admire his achievements. But being a chef is different compared to what he does. And he knows that himself.
considering that meal costs 28 dollars at a local pub all that for 10 bucks is a steal.
6:20 I feel the way he just goes “are you kidding me?” Based off his body language alone
I’ve always wanted a cheeseburger from the menu but I’ve never been bold enough to order one
Minced prime rib steak makes the best burgers. Finished off in the oven with caramelised brown onion on top.
something about coming back to your channel and still seeing your passion and fun creativity for food and how it affects us is amazing and gives me chills everytime
Something to make after reaching 10 mil subscribers:
The Simpsons- Ethiopian Dish (The Food Wife episode)
The Owl House- Fried Orb
Cruella- Baroness' Lunch
The Looney Tunes Show- Daffy's Complicated Banana Split (Peel of Fortune episode)
Steven Universe- Literally All Toppings Pizza
When the fry got split I had to run to the bathroom because I was salivating so much
Babish! I have been watching you for years and years and have always wondered what food I would suggest and I finally have it! The foods from A Knights Tale! Like dilled veal balls and squash fritters. Also, I am literally writing this to you in the middle of the night after waking from a dead sleep with this realization. Hope all is well!!
this video is pure art, thank you for creating it. everything oozes with class - from the way you made those fries, to the movie like filters & on screen labels to the fact that you went back and redid the American cheese - what a Chad!
ok, thanks! the first two minutes of the video were just what I was looking for!
I want to make that cheeseburger so bad now. Not the fancy one, the one that cost seven dollars.
As an Oklahoman I can confirm we do this with our onions on our burgers but I’ve never heard it called Oklahoma style until today
Can’t beat an okie onion burger honestly
I’m now extremely interested in making my own processed cheese.
There totally was pickles in the burger in the Menu. You can see one slice in the burger squeeze shot. No burger is complete without pickles.
Loved this epp. Always enjoy seeing you break down and explain all the components. Felt like a classic Babish epp when you went and remade the cheese slices. Burger looked great. Well done!
the most surprising part about this is making your own American cheese actually looks pretty fun
The Menu was a great movie. At the ending I was also craving a cheeseburger.
I would say that "Margot" had a certain insight into Slowik, being in the service industry, and knew he would have burger buns and fries
Hmm no. She saw pics of him flipping burgers in his home . That's why she specifically orders that
@@panodontia I was specifically talking about the buns
The 🍔 was probably Chef's secret midnight snack after a particularly bad day in the kitchen.
Love this. Binging with babish ftw. Found the channel when Milk Steak and other always sunny monstrosities chanced upon my facebook feed, been a fan ever since.
I was soooo hoping you would do all the food from the Menu!! I’m so happy right now!
