Dude! You are a life saver! I have no great tools and have been battling my deck to remove the old blades for hours by hand. Then I saw how you used that piece if wood to stop the blade 😮. That and some rusty metal break free spray and I became a human impact wrench. Thank you so much for posting this tutorial. Much appreciated 🙏

Thanks for the informative, well-paced video. I changed my E130 blades this morning (with my laptop and your video on my work bench) and mowed the yard this afternoon. I also leveled the blades using your related video. I had 80 hours on the blades but with the knowledge you imparted I won't wait that long next year. Thanks again.

Fantastic!! The part youre reassembling at 9:05 came out while I was cutting the grass. The front of the deck was hangin on to the grass afterwards. It came out coz I (barely!)drove into a drain cover in the garden. I found a pin + a washer by the cover. The pin must have slide out as the deck was pushed a bit backwards by the cover. I was crapping myself that Id done serious damage & would need to get it fixed. However then I went on youtube and found this video. And, in less then 30seconds, fixed the lawnmower mysefl. So thank you very much for that. Saved me a lot of grief.

I'm looking forward to buying parts from you too to thank you for your videos. I'm just curios, is the CVT transmission able to drain the fluid too? A couple of suggestions
    1. Wait to disconnect the blade engagement cable until you pull out deck a bit. Much easier. Reinstall before push all the way in.
    2. Lift blade deck handle back up before sliding out. Insures hangers are out of way.
    3. I find putting belt on before rehanging deck insures plenty of slack.

I noticed in watching some other videos that the newer 100 series like mine don’t have the sliding “L” bracket adjustment on the PTO cable that allows for minor belt tension tweaking. My bracket is welded to the deck. How are tension adjustments made on these new mowers with the welded brackets? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I have an s120. Just replaced the high lift blades with stock 42 inch blades from John Deere for mulching. I don't have a torque wrench but I tightened them as much as I could with a 1/2 inch breaker bar. I now notice some vibration when I engage the blades. The blades are fully seated. Any idea why the vibration? Thanks

Does the vibration stay consistent the whole time they are on or only during the initial start up?

@@WesternEquipment The whole time. Haven't cut the grass yet, just tested it over my concrete driveway.

@@WesternEquipment I figured out the problem. There's the blade a washer and the nut. The washer looks flat but is slightly concave on one side. The concave side of the washer must face up towards the blade. Thanks for the reply to my question.

A question: to grease points under two covers, do I need to remove covers? TIA

No you do not, they are accessible with covers still on. Thanks for watching!

Don't you need to time the blades so that they will not bump into each other? Thanks!

No, you do not on these models. They will not touch. Good question and thanks for watching!

How does one go about adjusting the belt tension on this model!? The L bracket is welded.

Are you having belt tension trouble when the blades are engaged?

@@WesternEquipment Thanks for the reply. I was mowing grass for the third time since buying it, and it stopped cutting that when I seen the pile of grass and broke belt! I went by the book with a John Deere belt and it's like 4inches to big! After watching a few DYI videos on here that's when I noticed that the L bracket is welded instead of bolted... I'm still scratching my head on it!

Wonderful instructions but you didn't say what size socket will remove the blade nut. I can't find that info anywhere! Can someone help please?🙏

Brand of torque wrench? I am looking at them on Amazon but can't decide.

I might as well mention that I am not strong enough to use a torque wrench (laying on my back) so I just tightened it with my socket wrench.
