Thank you! You are the first guy I have come across that suggest disconnecting the spark plug for safety.

I've never in 21 years of owning my L110 did I ever had to remove the deck to change blades, I drove it up on ramps, and crawled under and changed the blades, believe it or not I never even had to change a belt, amazing machine and luck I suppose,

There are grease points you can do while deck is down and out, and inspect your belts and pulley. Short cuts are good but sometimes end up expensive.

There’s a really good video out there already where a guy pulls apart his bearings and makes them greasable because the way they come from
The factory for at least the 2020 model they aren’t greasable. All you’re greasing is the shaft.

Before you reinstall your blades scrape your deck with a putty knife or chisel to remove all that crap from your deck so your deck don't rust it's best to scrape your deck when your blades are off cause you got free movement

Sorry I would have cleaned that deck off before installing the blades. Also I would have used wheel chocks and / or jack stands. But I'm Herman Hoglebogle.

Ya, I sometimes rewatch these for the memories or to see the progress on certain things for motivation… totally was running outta time for a move when I did this particular video. It kinda kills me a little to see the underside of the deck but again for me it’s a tool and I don’t think I’ll ever have the time to perfectly maintain it. Unfortunately it’ll just be the occasional grease, once a year oil change and as much maintenance as is necessary

    Did you re-balance those blades?

Nah they didn’t really need it. I just checked it on a vise for level afterwards and it was close enough. I mowed the lawn again the other day and it feels exactly the same as before but the cut looks a little better.

The most important thing on this video is WHERE you located the jack to get it up high enough. You never really showed where.

I’m sorry, look for somewhere sturdy and don’t jack it up on any of the steering components. If I remember correctly there’s a square section of frame that I think I lifted it on for this video.

Oh for sure, you’re right. It works better if you have a concrete pad, I just don’t like changing out the nozzle on my hose but maybe one day I’ll get it set up better. This video kinda lacked focus because I went into it with the idea that the last time I looked at the blades they were going to be garbage by now… turned into just a sharpen.
