This is prob the 3rd or 4th time I have watched this - I still love Paul's setting up of his pop-up tent lol. It really adds something to the 2 part series.
An incredible track, journey and scenery..... In Russia (where I've spent much of the last decade) there's a 4,300km offroad track which was used to service the construction of the Baikal-Amur-Mainline railway - it's known as the the BAM Road but is largely a track which you wouldn't even contemplate without a very serious 4x4 vehicle or offroad motorbike. It involves river crossings, bogs and even some decaying/semi-collapsed bridges.... A very different challenge to the Canning Stock Route - but an adventure in its own right. Temperatures in that part of Siberia are often -50 to below -60 Celsius in winter, so you'd have to be "keen" to even think about attempting it outside the warmer months.
I was laughing for ages at the bubbly at the half way point - using the compressor - only in Australia would you see something like this - classic! Fantastic video showing iconic parts of our great country
"David Attenborough" of overlanding. Outstanding !!!! The photography - Breathtaking. Thanks for taking us with you. Can' wait for your next outback adventure. Cheers
Oh yes there is, I lived in USA for a while, and the lovely New England villages, and the Cascades of the pacific northwest and the forests of tall trees and rivers. Stunning
What a epic trip of a lifetime! How you managed to cover the distance and still get so many amazing clips of video is incredible. Thank you for all your efforts. As a humble Canadian on the opposite side of the planet I can’t imagine ever being able to do this trip, so this series is the closest I’ll ever get to seeing it for myself. I do believe you’ve done it justice.
You are friendly, honest, kind, philosophical, with a small part of exquisite humor. You’re all natural with no excuses. - A role model. Thank you for sharing.
Both Andrew and Chris in Venture4WD are professionals at presenting content to viewers. Views are breath taking! I started making my own arm rest like the one shown at 45:34.
Watched 1 & 2 back to back. Thank you so much Andrew for sharing these lovely videos and details of your amazing adventure. Your honest reviews are always appreciated.
Your night shots are stunning… a few months ago I was out on the Nullabor, camped out about 40Ks east from Maduraih, at midnight… the night sky vista looking south overwhelmed my soul…. Simply amazing in the silence with my self….
That advertisement for outback Australia at 35:00 was amazing. The Aussie tourism big wigs should pay you for that. The experience out there can only be described and some form of spiritual or magical connection to the earth
I just finished watching these two parts, quite to my surprise, in one long continuous go, and have to say thank you so much for both the storytelling and the time you spent on the photography as well. I expected to find lots of videos of people just driving for long periods, but your content was as unexpected as I could have imagined. I putter around in the various flight simulators and thought this would be a fun remote area to fly along. I wanted to get a feel for what the region really looks like to help fill in the mental gaps even the best data and graphics can't. So grateful I found this and I hope you enjoy many more days in such beautiful, remote country.
Loved the re-release movie length versions of the Canning Stock Route, Please do the same for your other epic journeys so very enjoyable. Thanks Andrew
Saving for tonight. I deal with chronic pain so i will put head phones on before bed and escape the best i can. Thank Andrew i love watching your videos.
A remarkable and welcome discovery. I did your course on presenting which hinged on the air mishap in South Africa.True, I know the history of the Canning stock route but you give us so much more.
Great mate re corrugated roads . My father, born in 1901, told me that the roads went to corrugated when automatic transmissions appeared in vehicles. Folks just put their foot in the pail and spun the tires. I’m on the east coast. Awesome to see. Thanks
Interesting but not true. I believe two-wheel drive vehicles or 4x4s being driven in two-wheel drive contribute greatly to corrugations. They were a feature of the Namib and Kalahari long before auto-transmissions came along, but never in places were one had no choice but to engage 4WD. I was there.
I cannot believe the stunning filming of both of these films of your travels along the Canning stock route. I was in amazement how nature can be so stunning and the night time photos wow. Thankyou Andrew from a dull Birmingham City UK 🇬🇧
Awww Andrew you bring back so many memories with your excellent video work and story telling. I must do that track again some time certainly didn't get enough of it first time out. Thank you so much
I've watched this series before and watched it again in this two-part 4K version. It's very well done and the content is awesome. I miss seeing this Troopy.
That is so good. I just got to know your work a couple of weeks ago and then after a couple of videos I stumble into this one. What a piece of art. I really appreciate the effort you put into all your work. It's so well edited, with with videos for the sound of the birds, the drone shots, even when you're just taking about the vehicle or the places it all just adds so much value to the content. It makes who like this sort of adventures to be aware of the possibilities of customization and also how to plan, what to do, how to do. You make it all very clear, with no rush. In the end this trips are worthed every single moment which most of them you've showed us. Really thank you from a Brazilian loving in Sydney. All the best and keep on going Andrew.
To me, who knows absolutwly nothing about all this, very inspiring. Makes me want to go there. One day. As a pleb. I can only imagine what an adventure it was. The evenings under the stars. In the middle of nowhere. Yet I really understand the amazing light you were talking about. Amazing. A masterpiece I truly enjoyed watching. Thank you for sharing!
Watched it before, Watched it now, after 3 years if you upload in 8k I will watch it again. Can't thank you enough for sharing with us such an amazing experience. Thank thank you very very much.
This is a magnificent part of our country I had the pleasure to do this trip in the 90’s Just fantastic I know exactly what were trying to say about the outback... I can’t find the words either The CSR is just so beautiful It’s definitely a bucket list trip I did it in my troop carrier The perfect vehicle for such a trip! As always Andrew flims it beautifully Well done mate ! Great to see your mate Paul with you Cheers
I understand what you're talking about when you find the right speed. It becomes much smoother, and you can feel like you're racing in the Dakar because of the speed you need. We had our front shocks blow while driving on wash boards, or what you call corrugation. At first, I thought the motor blew up. There was a big oil cloud that enveloped us and I could not understand why the truck was running with no problem. Then I had realized it was the shocks. We have had great luck with Bilstein shocks.
I was watching with one eye on how much was remaining before it ended… I was hoping for more and more. I could have watched this in real-time for 5 days I’m sure. Absolutely beautiful.
Every one of ASPW’s videos motivates me to find that next adventure. Well done. 👍🏻👍🏻 And, I agree...I don’t understand why this channel isn’t 10X bigger. By far the best overlanding channel on UA-cam.
Fascinating footage! Great story from our host. Sounds ADD to the Experience like never seen before .., it is a pity we can not enjoy the smells. Thanks for your excellent craftsmanship making this fantastic content!
Great 2 part video , I’m very happy your living in Australia , showing us aussies our own country from your eyes and I thoroughly enjoy your commentary.
Once again thank You very much for at stunning video, Andrew. Coming from a small country, Denmark, with only 460 km from tip to German border, its even more amazing to see those wast planes, and to comprehend the distances involved.
What an amazing film really enjoyed watching this video excellent, love the truck it's Awesome, I bought a 1996 land cruiser last September this Toyota is the best 4x4 I have ever bought it was like the walking wounded and slowly rebuilding it replacing bits hear and there I just love these Toyota land cruiser they are Awesome 4x4, looking forward to watching all your video's 👍 ☺
Should i ever find myself in the position to travel the Canning Stock Route it is on my bucket list. You video did nothing to put me off and as i sit in a wet and windy UK i can only dream of such a trip.
Excellent work Andrew, I loved the campsites! My Idea regarding the corrugations is, all the traffic goes South to north, forming a waved shaped corrugated
Some of Andrew’s finest cinematography and storytelling.
Absolutely.
I agree, 100% and absolutely true
This is prob the 3rd or 4th time I have watched this - I still love Paul's setting up of his pop-up tent lol. It really adds something to the 2 part series.
Paul cracks me up evertime with the tent. And yes Andrew thankyou.

Simply amazing. There's nothing here in the U.S. that comes close to this.
Thank you so much for sharing this Andrew. Much respect from Colorado. :)
Oh yes there is, I lived in USA for a while, and the lovely New England villages, and the Cascades of the pacific northwest and the forests of tall trees and rivers. Stunning
Yes there is the transamerican trail with is 5000 miles long.
The US has absolutely amazing overlanding tracks.
Outstanding, I watched 1 & 2 back to back.
It was a pleasure to sit on my couch and drive this marvellous country with you. This I think was your best ever.

Beautiful country! Thank you and may you hear the winds carrying the sounds of this most remarkable part of Australia all thru your life!
I love these long vids. I can relax lay back on my bed and watch them.
38:51 ....How's the Aussie accent "I don't go ta Derba springs cause it's overrated" hahaha gold
Your night shots are stunning… a few months ago I was out on the Nullabor, camped out about 40Ks east from Maduraih, at midnight… the night sky vista looking south overwhelmed my soul…. Simply amazing in the silence with my self….
28:19 that was some super cool drone shot
Such a lovely film. Wonderful thank you
