Hit the like butt'n and the subscribe bill and you CAN start donating huge sums each day, become a pet lion.
Just kidding, but for real, people like this deserve financial support from Patreons. Think about it for a moment, just the fuel costs and things like replacing worn out tires, it is serious money. If you can afford helping him, and if he really has this Patreon option, please think about it.

How truely true this is , I love my 79 so dam much, I usually have to refrain from talking about it to every stranger or Tom , dick or Harry that passes buy .
Most of them listen with great gusto and then at the finally of my heavily rehearsed , scripted ramble they politely inquire,
      🤔 ummm what is a 79series !

well i did what have done with a 65 Holden sedan, with a winch attached. I had luxury, a 2 person tent, carried everything from water to 3 spare wheels. A few years later in a land cruiser FJ45 I did the gun barrel high way,,, look it up. Your trip is luxury, absolute luxury. Carried 60 liters extra fuel in cans,,, this was in the late 1970's. You have no idea. However, thanks for visiting and advertising my beautiful country.

Interesting what you say about painted steel rims. When I used to mount tires back in the day we were always more concerned with the aluminum rims. We would tell customers that they should retorque them after driving for 50 miles or so. I never have seen a problem with steel when properly torqued but it is something I will look out for now.

Totally get where you're coming from about breakfast cereals. As a young boy in the UK c.1970 we had traditional breakfast cereals in the morning with perhaps Scott's Porage Oats (spinkled with brown sugar) on the colder winter mornings...
Here in Russia a few of the local supermarkets in Moscow sell the amazing Dorset Wholefoods Muesli (lots of nuts and/or fruit) which cost about £3 a packet in the UK. But in recent years, with the Russian Rouble falling in value, a packet of Dorset Muesli now costs twice the UK price - for a packet half the size! So effectively the price is now 4x the normal cost - too expensive to buy really.

BTW thru WA the Nullarbor it is at the top of the bluff which you climb up at the border. The railway line actually bisects it whereas the road skirts its southern edge (in WA). It is treeless cos it is one of, if not the, world's largest piece of limestone. There are numerous caves below. Mundrabilla used to be the cheapest fuel between Ceduna and Norseman. Surprised that you didn't mention Balladonia and Skylab.

Awesome Video. Obviously the trip is finished now so this week info isn’t going to help for this trip. But I’m future for the flies this is the only thing that worked for me when I worked up north in the mines. Firstly you need Bushman spray and cream. Highest Deet percentage the better. And also get yourself a face mask sock thingy. Get the cream and put a streak on your forehead, cheeks, exposed neck and hands. Then spray your clothes with the spray. That will always keep them away. If you need a little more protection use the face covering and then they can’t get to your face.
As with the flies in the vehicle just crack the window an inch or so and they will fly out as soon as you turn the car on and start driving.

I did think that the scene about the tyres would have cost you the sponsorship when you first told us about it. Bad call by BFG though because anyone interested in what you're saying could understand that you are not a fan of wide tyres regardless of make, and that you are indeed a fan of narrower BFGs. Oh well. At least you can try different options going forward.

I was a little confused as I was shopping for my first 4wd. I ended up getting an 80 series not for your comment on bogans, only because my price range was dedicated to finding a forever car and for the price I believe Toyota is far superior as far as quality goes. I am now more aware of those pesky boagans now, driving patrols and taking up our valuable oxygen 😂, thanks for the giggles and entertainment, marvellous photography and witty personality... cheers mate 👍🏻

BF I don't know what their problem is, you mentioned a few times the tires were to big, you weren't knocking them down.
Now I don't know if BF installed them and that's what they recommended , I don't know but sounds like they are pouting.

Will be nice if the rest of us can ever get back into Western Australia. Being cut off from such a beautiful part of our own country is ridiculous, especially when its so easy to keep away from other people out there! If I ever have to replace my Jeep Commander XH (I'm sure it will wear out one day... and yes I'm always looking back at it when its parked) I'll be replacing it with a troopy, its pretty much the only other vehicle that appeals.

You have only touched the most southern part of the Nullarbor. To see the Nullarbor in its fullest you need to travel North. If you ever have the opportunity, take a trip on the Indian Pacific Railway or drive the route along the railway service line - then you will understand the true Nullarbor.
