- How can we turn the corner with quilting templates to make them fit in the border? Kate Quinn shares several ideas using the Westalee Designs Border templates set and a few other common border templates. You can use the information here to adapt template designs to fit them to your own border needs. Some additional information is included on how to fudge or adapt the center of a border design if you work from the corner towards the middle. Come see what is possible!
Just love your Videos‼️I learn so much. Especially love how your explanations are so informative. Thank you‼️‼️
Learned so much from your video, thank you for making it. Helps to show you can play with the rulers in-order to complete a design when things don't really match up.Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Hello from Iowa
Love the rope border corner info.
You have great tips for additional markings. You inspired me to use my Sew Steady rules more.
Just found you, Kate! I have a lot of catching up to do. Just started with the Sew Steady / Westalee products. Love your teaching style! I've already had quite a few AHA moments! Thank You!
Excited to see what you have this Eve Marcia O.
I love your ruler work tutorials and have learned so much watching them. Are there tutorials that show ruler work on actual quilts? I am having difficulty moving my quilts to accomodate ruler quilting. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong and I would love help in correcting my errors.
I have done some in a rica l quilt blocks but it is difficult to see as I usually use some time in tone colors. I know Donelle has a few quilt block projects. I will see if I can find some links to my own and hers will be on a Facebook. Also we have some on the Sew Steady University page.
@@katequinnoffabquilts Thank you!
Looks good and sound is fine
Do you have a video using the templates on a large quilt? I have no problem when doing sample size or fat quarter sizes. But I fight with my full and queen sized quilts
Thank you so much for your tutorials. I've learned so much from you. This is Barbara from Delaware. I've tried ordering your sticking line disk. Couldn't find it could you please let me know where I can find them Thanks much.

When will we see you back on Sunday? Miss you.
I am traveling a lot so it’s difficult to be on at the moment and I have limited days off with my family. I hope to return and do more a little later in the year.
where can I purchase the 1/4" tracing guide you are using on the clam shell? what is it called?
Kate, I have the right foot for work with the SewSteady templates.. I am a complete novice. Where do I begin? What templates do you suggest for beginners? I have zero experience with free motion quilting. I have no experience with template/ruler quilting. Which videos or classes do I begin with?
Hi RA-I have a Facebook support group. Here is the link. I have an older free startup video as well as many other videos and a troubleshooting video.

It’s free to join but I do ask a few basic questions just to make sure that people are really sewers.
Where can I buy some templates
How did you know where to place your miter?
The miter line is marked from the outside corner to the inside corner.
Hi Kate
How can I find your hand outs.
There are no handouts for this class. I don’t have many handouts for my free classes. Usually only my paid classes. Thanks for asking, K
Does the thickness of the template matter?
Hi Deleana, yes it does. Low shank machines have very low clearance at the back of the foot so they need the skinny rulers. High shank has more clearance so they can use the 4.5mm thick templates. Many longarm machines require a 6mm or 1/4" thickness for safety because the longarm foot elevates with every stitch. Some domestic machines can use any thickness but most require the ones that matches.
Ok
